My brain was so resistant to learning Spanish in the beginning. The moment I heard you say “words do not mean words” information started to gain entry again. I remind myself of this constantly. You are a great teacher, Señor Jordan!
Ahhhh, that's so nice to hear. Thank you so much. I like when I help anybody, but those who were resistant in the beginning (like I was) have a special place in my heart. Glad "words don't mean words" resonated with you. You were open to it. That's cool. Not everybody is.
Hola!.I appreciate you for your videos.i am in last weeks of my first semester of spanish language at university and your videos actually helped me a lot!!! I hope you can give us more free videos. even if I could afford to be a member on your site to learn more, i cant pay. Because I live in a country that no one has a Master Card or any other thing so that i can use. From Kabul Afghanistan. I am a Gringo!! "Muchas gracias"
Hey Jordan, I was wondering if you could do a short video on this. I don’t understand the whole “lo que” thing and why I can’t just say “que” My mexican language buddy corrected me when I said. Esto es que escribí. (That’s what I wrote) To Esto es lo que escribí (That’s what I wrote here) I know “lo que” is right, I just don’t understand the purpose and don’t know when to use it? Maybe you can help?
He made a video about it, but from the info in his video I can give you a shortcut. Before writing a sentence with the same structure, think to yourself "can I say 'the thing that' instead of 'that' in this sentence?" If so, use lo que. "That's the thing that I wrote" "Esto es lo que escribí". Think of "lo" in "lo que" as "the thing". Hope this helps
Thought about it. I think "Jimmy took the train" would probably expand to be "Jimmy took a ride on the train". So maybe it's "a ride" that's being taken/chosen rather than "the train".
I can't know whether that's really it or not, but I like the thinking! Now that you've put that in my head, that's how I'm gonna think of it and explain it, until something better comes along. But that really might be it! Thanks!
My Spanish 2 teacher showed us his channel and I just like his videos so much I subbed to watch even after I finished the class his videos just have a really good vibe
Gracias Jordan! Excellent video! Taking the default focus of the verbs instead of the broader conceptual meaning(s). If you made videos like this for all Spanish verbs depicting their default focus and their overlaps, you would be the most lauded teacher on the planet...or is it...in the world....is there a difference...I don't think so...Nuestra profesora de espanol en Cuenca Ecuador piensa que tus videos son realmente buenos tambien.
Do you have a playlist for those who are only beginning to learn spanish? Or should I just go straight to your first video and then continue with the second one and so on
You should do a video of spanish accents and where to put stress. I have a test tomorrow but i will need the video next year before the AP test. Maybe others too have same question.
Just found this video. Something occured to me after watching it. We say "I have to TAKE care of my (dog/mom/dad)" but they don't say that. They use 'cuidar'
You've probably answered this question a thousand times, but... is the hand on your t-shirts your hand? And is it... stolen... I mean an homage to... J Geils' "Sanctuary" album cover? Thanks!
nice video, one note. Horsemeat is quite normal and more common than you think. You have eaten lots of it even if you don't know that it is horse and not cow.
Dude how much aderall are you prescribed???? No but seriously man I love your videos. I feel like you take me for a walk thru your brain and for moments at a time I can see how it works and it’s incredible. You’re obviously highly intelligent and I’ve learned a lot from your videos. You talk faster than i can think so sometimes I have to watch more than once but I really appreciate you man. Keep up the great work!!!
