So glad you're back! I found your channel right before you quit making videos and I was so upset. You have been one of the best resources in me learning Spanish thus far!
Yes, I live in the Dominican Republic and we see manejar. On the back of trucks, see “¿Yo menajo Bien?, si no llama....” But on road signs to say “if you are the driver, don’t drink”, Conductor is used. (Si conductor, no bebe)
sorry, is it different in the D.R? I'm learning spanish from spain, and don't drink is a command which means it's the imperative, so would you not say 'no bebas'?
Manejar suena súper mexicano. En España conducimos. Podemos manejar esta situación perfectamente. Por cierto, es muy extraño tener conducir y celular en la misma frase.
Man, your videos are so great, but I wonder how much bigger your audience would be if you made it more “comfortable” for people by easing up on the rapid-fire jump cuts. When one sentence butts up against the next and the next and the next without pause it feels like the world’s longest run-on sentence. You are throwing out so much wisdom that I sometimes need just a moment to process what I just heard, but you’re usually halfway down the next sentence while I’m still processing the previous one. Anyway, just a thought. Thanks for your videos!
I was using a few different resources of learning when I first started with Spanish and this exact example was when I realized one of them was using Spain Spanish and the other was more for Latin America. When I was starting out I had no idea there were slight differences between them.
@Think Smart I'm not sure. I was born state side and have only visited. I do know from some of my family and friends that generally speaking stuff is a little tougher there. Especially since I'm guessing there's limited resources as compared to here.
@Think Smart no problem. The good thing is though the people are super welcoming. We Puerto Ricans treat everyone like family. So in terms of people it would be easy. Just not sure about the legal aspects.
In Spain where i am (and i believe most of Spain) we pronunce the CI in conducir with the English TH. Well a Z is just plain TH. CI is THEE, and CE is THAY
I’ve asked Latin American friends and they say they use manejar automobiles personally, but they understand and accept conducir if someone uses the word.
Tejanos say “ Tu este manejar a la pinche trocas or do you want me to drive. Notice in Tex~Mex we start off speaking Spanish, but end in English… because we like to confuse the hell out of, whomever we speaking too… 😂😂
Yes!, but we use conducir and manejar indistinctly of course for driving a car. El maneja bien el paquete de office----> he handles very well the office package. El maneja bien el carro/auto --------> He drives the car very well. Ella dirige/maneja/conduce bien la empresa. She manages/leads the business.

Don’t ever change who you are. Nice to be back with you.
This was super helpful and thorough. Answered my question exactly. Thanks again!
Excellent! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you The Spanish Dude. I think this is the most comprehensive video about “conducir” and “manejar”.
How sweet, your dad is on the video! Hola!
Thank you Jordan. Welcome back.
yay. welcome back amigo mio! After living in Puerto Rico for a year, I can also share that they have their own verb meaning to drive - GUIAR
Boricua here 🖐. "Guiar" conjugations: yo guío, tú guías, él/ella guía... 😆
Estoy muy feliz de saber que sus videos están de vuelta. Eternamente tu mecenas. Gran video, Jordan.

@@maa6471 yeah, probably, I'm going off memory 😉🤣
@@dschmider ok thanks for clearing that up, I was having an existential crisis for a sec there because I have a big Spanish exam soon.
Great to see you back
You still crack me up Jordan
Dude, your Dad is adorable. Mas Padre! Y como siempre, gracias por todo.
Gracias por el video es muy util
I’m glad you made this video. I’ve been curious about these two verbs myself.
Very cool intro from your dad.
Finally I understood the difference between them thanks to this video thanks ☺️
I'm done with Spanish (decided to switch over to German at B2),but hell yeah, you're back bro!
Thanks for another great lesson.
Bienvenido de vuelta! We missed you. Saludos a su padre.
Gracias!!
Hola Randy! Bienvenido y espero volver a verlo pronto.
Glad to see you pop
Here in the Philippines "to drive" is "maneho" its the root word for all conjugations.
This is great! Thank you!
Thanks! Great vid! Keep up the good work!👍
Thanks! 👍 I appreciate that.

I've noticed in my family really depends. I use manejar and my grandmother always used conducir. I'm Puerto Rican for reference.

I’ve been using “conducir” for a year since I’ve been learning Spanish and I just started using Duolingo and I was so confused with “manejar” 😂
Siempre informacíon ayudamente
Gracias!

Could you make a lesson about double pronominal? Please.
Aprendí manejar primero de amigos que tuvo de Mexico. La primera vez que oí conducir me impresioné muy raro.
Tu papá es genial.
Gracias!
I'm from South America "conducir" is more formal than "manejar" .
Filipinos know it as Manejar as well. "Maneho".
We use in Phillipines "Manejo" to drive
I’ve asked Latin American friends and they say they use manejar automobiles personally, but they understand and accept conducir if someone uses the word.
In Northern Mexico there are signs along the highway saying "Si toma no maneje"
Awesome! Thanks for the report!
Dang, J -- Getting enough sun?
PS: Welcome Back!

my favorite character name in spanish is Calamardo. squidward from spongebob. Homero is pretty great though.
Nice video!!! Very engaging from beginning to end. Nevertheless, businesses and investment are the easiest way to make money..
The best thing to do in this period is to buy silver and crypto.
I trade with Matthew Gray I even made a profit of $10,000 trading with him last week !!
Seeing alot of successstories, he must be honest and trustworthy for people to talk this good about him.
@Queen Yeah 💯💯 He has been managing my trade for months and I make profits Every week.
He's Really amazing with an amazing skills he changed my 0.3btc to 2.1btc
Conducir is more like steer?
Yes!, but we use conducir and manejar indistinctly of course for driving a car.
El maneja bien el paquete de office----> he handles very well the office package.
El maneja bien el carro/auto --------> He drives the car very well.
Ella dirige/maneja/conduce bien la empresa. She manages/leads the business.
YO CONOCI UNA PERSONA CREO QUE ERA ORIGINARIA DE PUERTO RICO QUE DECIA GUIAR EN VEZ DE CONDUCIR O MANEJAR UN AUTO
Yet in English we "ride" horses because they always know where we want to go. 😀
