I lost my best friend Jennifer five years ago and now I may be losing my only other best friend to the same disease and myself I lived in a woman’s shelter and just had cancer and went to home to visit my mother who is dying of cancer so believe me I know how it feels but I can’t say I know how everybody else feels but may God bless everyone going through this keep strong keep your faith and I pray for each and everyone of you God bless y’all

Yes I lost my friend suddenly last yr (45) November 20th. I am 10 yrs older than her cant believe it. Known each other about 26 yrs. But our families had a long connection though my grandfather.
Why don't they make movies like this anymore? It isn't like life has changed all that much -- everyone gets old, eventually, and life still deals us sudden twists and turns... People just don't want to be reminded, I guess. But I find films like this comforting, and refreshing. I suppose I'm showing my age ☺...ah, well.
Agreed. Hallmark tries but the movies they produce lack quality. Plots are great but actors don’t do a good job let alone exaggerated editing at times. 21st Century do come out with a few good tv movies like My Louisiana Sky, 2001 but I tell you.. something is lost.. could be language by all means .. body and vocabulary.. add accuracy to that. And let’s not forget the audience. Filmmakers do want a great audience to put a certain project in action and societies have changed, dear to our misfortune old schoolers. 😅 But happy to see some care enough to upload them for us to watch. If some would call it (old production) graveyard well.. it is where I feel peaceful the most. 🤷🏻♀️

I lost my best friend for life eleven days after my birthday in June of this year. She was the most amazing, wise, caring person I knew. Cancer cannot take away the love or our memories, I hold them and her in my heart.

the scene when Gena opens and her eyes and smiles when she sees her daughter at the end, kills me everytime. The end with Linda walking with Will is difficult because they take the opposite path from the opening scene, showing that they are leaving the past behind. This movie is absolutely beautiful with Linda and Gena giving the most amazing and emotional performances.
This lady comes out in all these emotional deep hearted movies Amazing . I like them and yes definitely better than all these modern movies where machine guns violence is a must

Gina Rowlands did a movie with Bette Davis called Mother and Daughter. She was the dying daughter. In today's time the movies are not quality like this. In today's time they have no depth of soul like this and other movies of this time and old black and white classics of long ago. Thank-you for uploading. This was truly a gem. 💎
Both these two actresses are the cream of the crop , really love the male actor too , he was great in The straight story I think it was called or straight line about a man driving all the way to his brothers on a little tractor. Sadly he has passed on now . He seemed like a beautiful gentle man and I just loved his voice 🤗

WOW! Just stumbled on this and was thrilled knowing that both Linda & Gena are both such great actresses figured it would be good. But it wasn't good. It was GREAT! Of course the performances were awesome and the story was lovely. I could babble on and on about it I guess but suffice it to say I'm so glad I found this movie.
I so identified with Gena Rowland's character in the restaurant scene where the daughter spills that she knew about her father's affair -- and somehow Gena was in the wrong for not wanting to be used and lied to by both her husband and her daughter: wow, that "blame and attack" mode was all so familiar to me. . .
Very thoughtful movie when it first was broadcast I was 48 now seeing it at the age I am now 72 I can relate I lost one of my best friends 6 years ago at the age of 65 from pneumonia i remarried late in life for the second Time at 67 after being single and divorced for several years Gena Rowland and Linda lavin are both fine actresses and very good in This movie
