- John and Debbie Challender have been trying to conceive a child for ten years. Because this hasn't worked they adopted a son, but Debbie still feels she has missed out on something not knowing what it's like to feel life inside of her. They decide to seek treatment from a so-called 'miracle doctor' Ash at Irvine University. Although John doesn't like the doctor they go ahead with the treatment, which almost kills Debbie. All ends well though and they become the parents of another son. Meanwhile the office manager of Dr. Ash's clinic become more and more suspicious when she finds out that some of his nurses are not licensed RN's.
I tried to get pregnant for many years. I was 37 when I got married for the third time. After all those years of trying I fully accepted the idea that I would never have a baby. Well, low and behold, I got pregnant on my honeymoon and gave birth to a healthy son at 38 years of age. On the day he was born I asked him, “I’ve been waiting for you for years, what took you so long to get here?” Lol! We wanted to have a second baby but it just wasn’t in God’s plan for us. Each day I realize how blessed I am to have my son.
how nice , congratulations . Luckily for me children do not entice me at all be child abuse if I have a child be born into my background . But this is very devastating to many parents who cannot have a family

Good for you and 38 is not old. My good friend had a healthy son at 45 and I know several who had babies at 40. None of my sisters and I had kids before 30, when we were ready for it. I am glad it worked out

Yes, I agree, This passed week-end, I put the auto play on and it played like 15 Linda Lavin movies in a row. I never realized how many movies she's made or even how good she really is. One of them had Tracy Gold when she was about 10 years old. I really like these older films.

Lavin really is a superb actress. I prefer these sort of movies than big budget Hollywood films.
I am an RN and the fact that they sent her home like THAT with an IV is outrageous!! You have to be knowledgable about IVs at the least and she was not in any condition to be released!
But she's an r.n. she knows perfectly well how to use an i.v.
There are doctors from other countries that believe in other countries they use the bare minimum procedures and rules so we should as well. I know a doctor who scheduled a back infusion to be done on the table in his office without sterilization and no medication. I had them before and always refuse medication to make you loooy. I just won’t do this in a small patient room that doesn’t look to clean. Oh , they also said I don’t need a driver and could drive myself. I have had a few and sometimes I get drop foot for a few hours. Yikes

My sister had several miscarries, leaving her and her hub devestated each time. Doctor told her hub to forget about having children, and take her away on holidays, and she came back pregnant, and went on to have three other children. It must have been something in the sun, sand and sea 🤷♀️.
Don’t think it was the sun sand and sea! That’s wonderful!! God has a plan for each and every person on the earth. At least that’s what I believe /:)
It’s probably because she stopped stressing and was just enjoying the love making with our expectation 😊

My heart breaks for infertile women, I was able to conceive very easily, my sister was not. She adopted two beautiful little girls from China, the end result was the same, we are both happy mothers!!

What about those little girls from China ? Are they happy not to live with their parents and their real families ? All adopted people I’ve met have always had some sort of mental problem as the feeling of rejection from their family ( and you never know if they have been abandoned or their mothers have been forced to give them away for adoption ) never goes away .

The husband's face when they go for their first "consult" is hilarious throughout that entire scene. Great acting without overdoing it to be "sure" the audience can sense how uncomfortable he is, and how much he dislikes Asch.
You don’t start off with a laparoscopy to diagnose blocked tubes. Did she already have a procedure where they put dye in the tubes to check for blockages? If so, they would do a laparoscopy to check for endometriosis. The fact that this doctor demanded payment upfront and not to question him raises red flags.

I’ve been binge watching Linda’s movies. She’s a terrific actress. This movie I think is her best film ever. Every woman who wants their own child can relate to this. It’s just so very sad how much money these Dr.’s charge, putting couples in debt for one of nature’s greatest gift, a newborn baby
The husband was right all the way. The wife was selfish, neglectful, naive, desperate, gullible. She was a nurse, and should have known better. "How could I have not seen? How could I have not known?" She chose to not see/know. The husband was right to be suspicious from the beginning. He also admitted to not knowing certain things, and why he asked questions. The whistleblower was also right to do what she did.
She let her feelings rule! Feelings can change on a daily or minute by minute! Feelings can also lead us false!

The person Marylou portrayed, even admitted in the end she should have listened to her husband a bit more! She let herself get too emotional invested! Easy to do with this subject! But any whistle-blower is truly courageous! And it is rarely an easy road! But the 1 most worth the travel! The 1 in this case tried to stay as long as she could to get as much factual evidence as possible, an even harder path!
@@cristineconnell7803 - I agree that she should have listened to her husband, and forgot to mention that in my original post. His feelings/thoughts/intuitions were right. She didn't respect his feelings/thoughts until the situation (almost) got worse. Humanity is getting worse because a lot of "conscious adults" still aren't actually/really doing anything to make positive changes. Just like the pharmaceutical industry is still a mess and the elites know this and don't care.

Why would anyone trust a facility that insists that the pharmaceuticals not go through the insurance, and be gotten and paid for only in cash, only from their facility? That should have been a major indication that something sketchy was going on there.
Even if something is not covered by insurance, the facility still has the responsibility to run the claim though to the insurance.

I'm surprised the movie did not address the implications for the children. Someday having the potential of dating, marrying and possibly having children with a brother or sister. Horrifying! Linda Lavin is a real Star of accomplishment as an actor.

My daughter was married 8 yrs and couldnt conceive. She went through ivf. Lucky fr her first cycle she conceived. Went through the whole procedure. Medication, daily injections, dr appoints, procedures. This lady in the movie wanted it so much. She knew in her heart it was fr her. The unscrupulous medical organisations who exploit women like her are despicable.
Linda, is an excellent actress, I’ve always liked her, starting with Alice.

He moved to Mexico and has a health Clinic there. I feel sorry for anybody that goes to his Clinic.
What a good movie and acting too. Very endearing back in the day. Men and women shared real emotion and tenderness with each other and in the movies. Very comforting. But this fertility clinic, WOW, how absolutely horrifying!
I just finished watching this. So sad that JD passed away in 2015. He was so desperately wanted.

I was unable to have anymore after my first 2, total hysterectomy. GOD had other plans for me! I ended up a Foster Adopt parent, and Lay Crisis Counselor. Ended up "parenting" many, including a few older than myself!

I know that women want children badly but I have never believed in this I know that you give your eggs and your husband gives his sperm but how do you know that you really receive what you have given I dont think that God is pleased with this I am a nurse and I could never work in a clinic like this or an abortion clinic I have two grown children that were conceived naturally and I thank God everyday for them

It is a great movie I wish I could remember the name. I found it here on UA-cam.

They yearn for complete power over life and death - similar to what God has.
So that was why the MD took 46 eggs from the woman, he then could transplant them in other women. I guess I am holier than thiu but I believe in staying natural as much as possible. I do go to a doctor but stay as natural as I can. I am 86 now and have been diagnosed with lymphedemia, so I researched it and am taking juices which flushes it out. Fortunately, I am not diabetic. The body is designed to heal itself and will do so as much as it can😊

Their son, JD, passed away at age 23 in 2015. John also has passed away back in 2010 of cancer. I wonder if they ever found any of the other children.

This means that if we , let's say get fired from a job because we told.the truth or wouldn't participate in an illegal or unethical act , then, all things will work out for the good for those who love to do what is right in God's eyes, even though we may lose our home, car , health insurance, etc. Good will not abandon us. He will make a way for our needs to get met.We will come out of it spiritually stronger and victorious as well as closer to God. Grander still, a reward awaits us upon his return because we have endured faithfully until the end. At that point "all things" have come full circle, with no lasting harm done. But it only covers things we may suffer for righteousness sake according to his will. Its nothing righteous about your love one getting hit by a mac truck that breaks fail or making bad decisions.

had two major surgeries as out patient but afterwards they gave me a chance to recover and recuperate before I was able to get up and leave . This is not the kind of surgery can get up immediately afterwards with out much time of recovering this is totally insane no wonder they were sued . So glad she did the right thing and told the truth...Good for her and we need more of her around in the medical field...I love how she told people to not let what Irvine was doing to stop them for getting fertility treatments...Yes, I had my babies with no problem of conceiving, but I know women who have had a horrible time...I am thankful there are good places to get help...Just watch your back and know what they should be doing and not...

Excellent movie! Great story line and dialouge. Great acting by Linda. But the only thing I'm mad about is the mother who went through the treatments. She came off as selfish,self centered. She didn't care about her husband or anyone else. Just her won needs.

You can't have children too young, and neither can you have children too old in your 20 would be good
Women are using a lion diet to conceive. There are studies that say it's nutrition that's the problem. If the body doesn't have the building blocks to build an egg or baby. One must have what it takes to grow a child before it will even prepare the area for an egg or even make an egg.
High stress lifestyles will also prohibit pregnancy. As stress can cause the body to have sometimes three feminine cycles in a month.
