I grew up working in the fields. Late 60s, 70s and 80s. I know how these people felt and no matter how clean we were or how hard we worked we were treated so badly, , like complete dirt in places we worked. That's the brutal truth. The one thing I learned was those were and are the kind of people I never want to be.. God Bless the true migrant workers of America also known of as The Fruit Tramps.
Many small farmers, ranchers etc treated similar! But we were taught hard work, family, fun, integrity & morals meant everything! As I look 60 yrs later, that is where most of the "salt of the earth" types seem to dwell! Occasionally found with great wealth, but adversity can wrought much worth!
I cried. I fought for my kids in court. A very unfair court and I fought till I won. I never gave up. I faced cruel and ugly people and had brain surgery in between battles but I never quit. They are now 18 and 14 and I have the most blessed relationship with them.

Growing up poor, I can relate to so many things that were kept from us because we didn't have the money to fight the powers that be. This movie hit the nail on the head. We didn't have much more than love in our home, but that love got us through many hard times and taught us that we were rich in ways that money couldn't buy. I own my own home now and have everything that I need, but I'll never forget being told by our parents that as long as we worked hard, were honest, and got an education, we'd always be 'rich'. Wonderful movie with an outstanding cast.
Life sure is more than money. I also grew up never, ever thinking we were poor. I never felt lack, my mama kept us clean, and clothed well, food on table, and our lights were never turned off. But when I got older, and looked at the economic pay scale my mama had been making those years, I figured we had been at the poor level. I remember as a child sometimes I would hear my mama tell someone she had A1 credit. Because when she bought a piece of furniture, she paid it off, in a timely manner. I think that played a part in me thinking we were doing alright, because she always bought good quality furniture that lasted for years. I was too young to know what A1 credit meant, but when I got older and knew, I tried to get A1 credit, and still haven't reached that, yet, lol. But I think what Tyne Daly family, your family, and my mama knew to do was make a dollar, out of 15cents. Truth is my most fun years, were growing up, in that environment. Everybody worked, or were homemakers, and they all watched out for others children. Like a village. Tyne Daly made a valid point, "Since when is being poor, a crime,."
I don't care about her performance. This is going on today. In fact, it is worse. The CPS is taking away children if the parents don't have sheets on the bed because they are hanging on the clothes line. They are stealing people's children and putting the parents in jail.

@@joanmarie5449 That can often be true. I was a foster parent to two abused raped neglected children, and even though one was already a teenager, they both wet the bed. Every day I stripped their beds, scrubbed and disinfected the rubber sheet, washed all their bedding and clothes so that by the time everyone came home from school, all the bedrooms would be put together like nothing happened. I did not feel the other children needed to know that those two struggled with this. One of the case workers who came to my home to check on things, saw the stripped beds and said she would have to report it. On ME, the foster parent trying to give them a decent life and help them through their grief and challenges. Fantastic actors in this film . I never watched before and so glad that I did . glad that she was taught to read so that she stood up in court to get her children back .
This movie was amazing I honestly didn`t expect much in the beginning but as the story progressed I became captivated and you can honestly feel every emotion portrayed by the actors it was so wonderful
i don't see how anyone can say such a dark, daark movie was "wonderful, amazing..." no, it was disgustingly realistic. as if poverty was evil when it's usually those on the upper side of any given situation that's evil. waaay tooo many fortunes are made off the horrible trade of enslaving others, in one way or the other to one degree or another. nothing about this movie was wonderful except the kindly attorney!
Great movie, fantastic cast & script the tears flowed , my heart sank so many times didn't think she'd get those kids back. Tyne Daly has always been a fighter and she proved it again in this film .
It’s not as long as those who are poor aren’t poor because they just don’t want to work. I don’t like my tax dollars paying for people who sit on their a$$ and repeatedly get pregnant.

This was a very sad but beautiful movie. The love these parents have for thier children is absolutely beautiful and amazing.. no amount of money can beat thier love!
Those of us who actually lived and experienced the trials , tribulations, prejudice, falsy accused, will understand the truth of what this movie exposed. Many of the new generation do not understand, they have closed the their hearts to the true meaning of humanity, compassion, empathy. thank you for posting great seeing it again this is my sixth time seeing . The whole cast should have been awarded for their always excellent performances
Loved the film . Brought tears to my eyes, somehow I knew it would have a happy ending. Money brings food to the table, pays bills and a roof over your heads . But Love, you don't need to pay for it comes from the heart . Everything that you do have gets passed on to your generations or charities when you pass away. It's all about greed in this world, and people are still not happy with what they have. until they lose it all . The family in this film were not in the wrong, but punished for not paying for the food on time.
Where do these bad people come from? How can anyone mistreat another in such a way and think it's right. Man they're in for a huge surprise on judgement day! They're surely gonna pay! My prayers go out to every mistreated person and animal. Know that God will have His revenge!
Oh dear God how I identify with this. My entire growing up years were spent being treated like poor white trash. Thanks to my mother we were clean as could be. I watched my mother be beaten in the ground every way she turned and I watched her being stripped of her dignity. My father was a so called minister and a coal miner (when he would work). He was mean to the oldest 3 girls, our baby sister was spared from his wrath, thank goodness. My brother who was the oldest child went to school without decent clothes to wear and endured being made fun of but he knew that the only way to escape the life that he had endured was to get an education and “WORK”. He bagged groceries every day after school until 9:00 at night and gave the money to my mother for groceries and to pay the power bill so we could keep the lights on. Somehow all of us girls managed to graduate from high school and go on to make a better life. When they built a shirt factory in our area my mother got a job and things got a little bit better. My mother took in ironing to buy fabric to make dresses for us to wear to school before she got a job. We went to school with holes in our shoes and wore those homemade dresses that my mother made for us. My father had no problem accepting what people gave us while my mother felt ashamed of what he was willing to do to keep from working. I remember watching kids have money to buy a hot lunch and have money for a coke and a snack at afternoon break time. My mouth would just water when I watched the other kids eat. The 1950’s and 1960’s were the most miserable time of my life. I married a wonderful man when I we was just eighteen years old and he provided for our family. I went on to become vice president of a mortgage company and we raised two wonderful sons. Our oldest son is both an attorney and an accountant and has an MBA degree as well as a doctorate. He is Dean of a two year college. Our youngest is a dentist. It is strange how people who wouldn’t speak to me in school because I didn’t measure up to their standards are sooo friendly now. I figured out that money made friends!!!
Thankyou for sharing such an amazing story. What a wonderful mother, God truly made things work out for your good. Inspiring for me, I'm a single working mother . Pray I can Do as well as you have.❤
It’s such a pleasure to find a decent movie, the magnificent Tyne daly no matter what character she plays I feel every word she says she is just superb 💜💜💜🇬🇧
Just finished watching this awesome movie. So many emotions I went through with the family. All credit to the marvellous acting of Tyne Daly. Some more movies like this would great. I know I Love Top Gun and Tom Cruise as an actor, but this comes up on top, humans vs machines.
Tyne Daly deserved an oscar for her performance. A moving story. Its bad enough to be poor but to be treated so cruelly by the powers that be! The title of the film is insipid in comparison to the script and performances. Great movie.
My grandmother had 12 kids ... my grandfather was a plumber he owned his own company .. We all loved going to grandma's house !!! So many wonder movies ! Love was always in full abundance by us all ! Poor yes but we never knew it ..
This makes me think about how far we come as a country and how fast we are going backwards....So sad, people don't realize what is happening. The young people have no idea how bad it can get with our freedoms taken away
Sad but true...injustice n biasness is still brought upon the poor, illiterate n marginalised in these day n time. Greed, power n pride have corrupted the world. I thank God that my father raised me right, to be truthful in my words n actions n Honour God in all that I do. Thank you for this heartfelt n wonderful movie
Our world today is being rapped every day of love. It is everyone's right and duty to preserve, encourage and grow the very essence of what makes us us human. Much Love.
Wow! That took us through a myriad of emotions which makes it a great work. Tyne Daly as usual is wonderful!!! Although I am not a huge Gerald McRaney fan, this was by far the best work I have seen from him!! Everyone did a great job here. I recommend it!!
Yeah these movies piss me off..in a good way I guess. If you think this is rough there's a movie with mark Harmon based on a true story, where he had to fight for his kids after his wife died. I think about it almost daily. It haunts me for some reason. I've known a lot of injustice and I was in fostercare in Las Vegas so maybe that's why. Plus I've had to fight against cps in Washington state. The injustice is absolutely incredible and sad
What a great movie! Had me in tears, god bless that women for keeping her head high like that lawyer said. Nothing like a mother fighting for her family 🤍

I wanted to also add, this picture was taken place in Florida in 1951, it seemed it was in 1851, in a very backwards environment!
@@tabathia7633 Yes ma'am. They may have been operating with a low budget. We got the point they were trying to convey though. Be blessed!
@@tabathia7633 Lol. I am sure none of them were paid what they were worth for their roles in this film. Excellent choice of actors.

Any movie with
Tyne. Daly is always worth watching!!!
HOW UNFAIR THE WORLD IS TO POOR PEOPLE.
I agree about Tyne Daly. But Gerald McRaney just as good. Great movie. Thanks to the channel!!!
Yes, excellent cast! Tyne & Gerald nailed their roles!❤
❤❤❤❤❤Gerald McRANEY. I've always complimented him in my own mind and now I'll l take this opportunity to do it publicly.
Family is everything ❤❤❤❤❤ Such a simple demonstration of authentic poor Family trying to fight exil ills of this corrupt society we live in..
Great movie, fantastic cast & script the tears flowed , my heart sank so many times didn't think she'd get those kids back. Tyne Daly has always been a fighter and she proved it again in this film .
She exactly hit them on the head of the nail thus far!! Its not a crime being POOR!!!
TRUE INDEED 👍
It’s not as long as those who are poor aren’t poor because they just don’t want to work. I don’t like my tax dollars paying for people who sit on their a$$ and repeatedly get pregnant.
Wow! She´s really an excellent actress. Has she won an Oscar? Are Oscars usually given to excellent actresses or to women with plastic surgery? This woman deserves the Oscar.
Daly has been nominated for the Emmy Award a total of 16 times; she has won 6 times, for the following television performances:
Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Cagney and Lacey in 1983, 1984, 1985, and 1988
Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Christy in 1996
Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Judging Amy in 2003
She was also recognized for the following:

2006: Nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role in Rabbit Hole
1995: Received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The depth and length of human cruelty is astounding. Great depiction of the horrors in our society. Thank you for loading this film.
Life is better when you feel what happened to this family in this movie. I experienced this as a child. ❤🙏 No propaganda.
This movie made me cry so much.😭😭😭😭😭😭Such humble and loving people despite what happened to them
What a great movie! I can’t believe the evil and injustice! ❤️😢
It happened too often. The law was in the side of the rich not the poor ! One day even these wicked " law abiding" officers will stand before God !

I saw Tyne Daly and Gerald Rainey from the early 90's and said I'm watching this. Great movie.

Tyne Daly is so awesome in this movie. The whole cast is excellent. A movie worth your time.

Love this movie ❣️ first time watching it❤ (2024)
what a beautiful movie! made me tear up. The mother is an amazing woman and mother!
This really broke my heart, had tears rolling down my cheeks as i watched. Couldnt blive how evil people can be to fellow humans, so inhuman.
well, you only need to look around and see how the GLOBALISTS are destroying the fabric of society in order to have total control over the whole population over a sickness with over a 97% recovery rate
Sometimes, I feel it's a shame to be a human when I see such evils.
I feel that evil is part of humanity. There are amazing kind wonderful people who wouldn’t hurt a fly and then they are extremely evil psychotic people who do horrendous things like mass murder of war. So long as humanity exists evil will exist unfortunately. Sigh
Really then you need to see Roots and that's just a mild pictation of evil that slaves went through

Such a sad and emotional film. However, there was some hope. Tyne Daly was amazing.
I grew up with my mom watching these movies on tv in the 80/90s. I always blew them off as boring movies but man I been revisiting these kinds of movies and all of them have been shocking good and tearjerkers for sure.

Alicia Silverstone has proven to me she should be rated as one of the top individuals of her generstion. Its not aabout the money or transiient fame. She is a light worker and a shining star. I DON'T RECALL EVER SEEING A MOVIE WITH TYNE WISHING ANYONE A MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Merry Christmas❣🎄❄☃️❄☄🎄🕊💋
Loved the film . Brought tears to my eyes, somehow I knew it would have a happy ending. Money brings food to the table, pays bills and a roof over your heads . But Love, you don't need to pay for it comes from the heart . Everything that you do have gets passed on to your generations or charities when you pass away. It's all about greed in this world, and people are still not happy with what they have. until they lose it all . The family in this film were not in the wrong, but punished for not paying for the food on time.
Beautiful story. Should of won an Emmy.
Where do these bad people come from? How can anyone mistreat another in such a way and think it's right. Man they're in for a huge surprise on judgement day! They're surely gonna pay! My prayers go out to every mistreated person and animal. Know that God will have His revenge!
TRUTH EVER SPOKEN 💯
No, God won't have revenge.
God gave us brains, we are supposed to solve these problems here on earth.

Awe this was so good. This touches to the core of my heart. I grew up poor but had such a wonderful childhood.
Damn what do you say to those people now??
Amazing story. You have a great testimony. Stay blessed 🌹🌹🌹
You are amazing!
I'm so happy for you 🎉 I love the underdog 😊 You should be so proud. 💗 ❤❤
Thankyou for sharing such an amazing story. What a wonderful mother, God truly made things work out for your good. Inspiring for me, I'm a single working mother . Pray I can Do as well as you have.❤

Just finished watching this awesome movie. So many emotions I went through with the family. All credit to the marvellous acting of Tyne Daly.
Some more movies like this would great. I know I Love Top Gun and Tom Cruise as an actor, but this comes up on top, humans vs machines.
Thanks for showing the truth! Tynr Daly was so wonderful in this movie. Award worthy!
What a brilliant actress this lady is; I remember her in 'Kids Like These' and she gave an incredible performance in that film too.
Tyne Daly deserved an oscar for her performance. A moving story. Its bad enough to be poor but to be treated so cruelly by the powers that be! The title of the film is insipid in comparison to the script and performances. Great movie.

This makes me think about how far we come as a country and how fast we are going backwards....So sad, people don't realize what is happening. The young people have no idea how bad it can get with our freedoms taken away
You're exactly right!!
I haven't seen this movie in years! I loved the story when I was a teenager and I'm glad I found it!
