Werster, I remember years ago watching your Pokémon stadium 2 blind folded runs, and it was some of the most entertaining Pokémon footage I’ve ever seen. I am 29 now, but I miss having a lot more free time to speed run Pokémon red. Good times. Thank you for all the years of fun werster.
I hope Werster keeps doing these runs "forever". I know that, one day, he will do it less often, and we'll see an update just once in a while, but will watch it anyway
I recently got into Pokémon Stadium speedrunning and it’s awesome to see you back to doing a run for the games. I still want to improve my GLC R1 time for Stadium 1 but I can’t wait to try Stadium 2 runs after.
I've been trying to beat this game with all rentals cuz nintendo is awful and won't give us a transfer pak option. I got stuck on the elite 4 but you helped me with your strategy
Not particularly. If you watch the run you pick up on most of it. Some team choices will affect the enemy AI, and some fights you know what the opponent is inclined to do, but largely it's just knowing the matchups and ranges well. And using boom/counter/mirror coat/destiny bond a lot.
somehow on every single pokemon stadium video, this comment gets posted. Yes. Stadium 1 and 2 have different color pallettes for every pokemon, its seperate from shiny.
How good the split is on his PB. Werster has worked out the optimal sequence of moves for every fight in this speedrun. The letters next to each split represent how well each fight went. I assume he updates them appropriately every time he gets a new record.
My god that was perfect timing in the beginning. Having Golduck set up Rain Dance and then spamming Thunder 100% accuracy. How tf did Golduck out speed though? 😂
Rentals ain't great. Kanto gyms have higher IVs and DVs on the mons, so Zapdos has 109 speed while Golduck has 119. Honestly Zapdos probably would be the best strat for a fast Misty anyway since Zapdos's Thunder is basically among the strongest special moves in the game period, which is why it's used so much in Stadium 1 runs, and it's about the only way to get a 3 turn win against Stadium 2 Misty (even with the damage ranges on her Golduck and Togetic). The fact that her AI is programmed to lead with Rain Dance just makes it more consistent.
I tried to see if I could get pass this as fast as I could a while back ago with only having beat it once when I was younger and somehow I got stuck on Whitney and her Milky. It felt really bad.

Perfect thumbnail.

Oh! It blew up!
Misty: This raises the power of my water type moves!
Zapdos: Hahaha thunder go brrr
Jesus. That Magmar stole your bitter berry and THEN hit you with confuse ray. AI in this game is something else.

I always thought the pokeball animations in stadium 2 were supposed to be as slow as they were, but I guess now we know it was literally just N64 lag
There's a reason the game recommended the Expansion Pak lmao
Same. And the health bars in the post battle recap lol
They still look slow
first split, holy lag-removal
Awesome work!!! Thanks for answering my question regarding ace Pokémon
This looks so much smoother than the N64
Almost feels sped up, haha.
My main goal is to blow up
Glad to see you decided to watch "that Werster fellow" to beat Pokémon Stadium on Switch lol

I love watching speedruns. Is there any video explaining the strategies and choices?

yo, furret matches the abra line's color scheme.

@@marnixmaximus3053 that wasn't what i meant at all. i mean that's why it fits sabrina's team aesthetically.
in that case, totally!@@yoloswag1137
This was a wild one from the word go!
thank lord helix

What is the A, B, C on the left of the splits in relation to?

Have you thought abt doing a full speedrun for this game on the switch?
Literal god
congratulations a winner is u!

hi werster, we love you
The fuckin goat
who would win in a fight? Werster or werster with prep time
Neither lol
Yo Werster, I have a question regarding Johto speedruns
Do you have any tips for a Chikorita run?
wersters camera has low health
It's a shame Werster never followed your teams you used when he did his Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 run.

Using Fissure on Rhydon? Knowing your luck? 😂
No Shame
