    Nick, I enjoy watching your videos! Did you try any of Saponificio Varesino artisan soaps? It's probably more popular here in Europe but should be available in USA too. It's top notch performer, you have to review this soap! DOLOMITI scent is amazing!

    in re; the scent of the soap.... would you say it is in the league of RazoRock "American Barber", in that it is "barbershop" but with a cologne inspiration? (American Barber is, I believe, based on Rive Gauche by YSL). Thanks for the videos! Its great to have you back!!

    Another great Video, thank you for that! :)
    Could you please do a review of the "Reuzel" Shaving Soap and perhaps the Aftershave? It's a Brand from Holland and they have very good Pomades ( Grease and Waterbased). Now they also have some shaving Stuff and i would love to see what you think about it.
    Keep up the great Work, i always enjoy your Videos!
    Greetings from Germany ! :)

    Nick, you are on a roll with some great gear, shaves. I clean the tub as well. You're selling me on the Semogue, I have the SOC boar. What Peter is doing is awesome! Nick, have you used the number 3 yet? If so what's your thoughts. I was thinking about buying Rockwell 6C with I believe 2 base plates. I enjoy a milder shave. Thanks Nick! Glad you are back making videos. K

      I like the 3 plate! With having all the base plates available, I prefer the 4 slightly more. But the 3 is a great shave and I know that I would be happy if I only had that one available

    Nick, men's grooming and men's health are very Important to all of us. Have you ever thought about incorporating men's health ie the importance of having a prostate exam or yearly physical?
    It's an overlooked issue that we as men need to be open and discussed.
    Thoughts?
    Again thanks for putting out great content.
    K

    Hi Nick. Great to see two videos back to back. You mentioned the Semogue OC brush being a great bargain for a good badger. Right now Stirling has awesome deals on their new boar brush and they sell an awesome 2 band badger too for under $40! It is by far the best badger brush I have used (plenty of backbone and releases the lather nicely - both problems I have had with other badgers).

    Sold on the 6C! +1 on Saponificio Veresino for a request. My favorite scent is the Tundra Artica, but the Dolomiti is nice, too. I would say that of the three that I've tried, the Dolomiti is the least strong as far as scent.

    Hi Nick, I like the Rockwell 6S with the 3 or 4 plates, the weight is great but the SS finish is not so good looking so I'm having RazorEmporium do a rhodium plating. Should look great!

    • @LeoDodier
      @LeoDodier 7 років тому

      Hello Christian, I had considered polishing but I really wanted the look of the bright Rhodium finish while keeping the weight of the stainless razor.

    • @BlueGearReviews

      Was the 6S finish rough to shave with?

    • @LeoDodier
      @LeoDodier 7 років тому

      The shaver functioned great, but the SS color was unattractive in my opinion. However, after I had the razor plated, I discovered that the grip was slightly better on the uplated razor.

    • @nickshaves
      @nickshaves  7 років тому +1

      Ooh, good question. There are a few very smooth blades out there. It would probably be Voskhod, though Treet blacks are also pretty darn smooth

    • @michaelmcgehee5932

      But the Perma-shape is your favorite blade so far right? As far as the very close/smooth balance.

      Michael McGehee I think the Personna Lab Blue blades are his overall favorite... but I also remember a video where he said the Gillette 7 o'clock Super Stainless were in competition.

      Zach Peters thanks. I'm brand-brand new to safety razor shaving and though skin type plays the main role in personal preference, I'm going by this channels advise to get started the right way based on the recommendations here rather than experimenting and spending a ton out of the gate. Thank you for your reply.

      Michael McGehee I did the same as you when I started. I use the Personna Lab Blue blades almost religiously these days and they're an absolute perfect combination of smoothness and sharpness for my skin and my facial hair.
