Are we going to get a shave gear of the year 2017 video soon ?
yes maybe at the end of 2018
I have this razor and it is very good for the money. Derby blades not so much.... my go to blade is the Persona Lab Blue for this one.
ive had my starter kit for a week i love it what a deal thx for the head up nick guys dont worry about this purchase like nick said its a DEAL
Damn, if only international shipping didin't cost an arm and a leg.
I know, a fairer price would be a toe nail and dump.
55 year old noob at safety razor shaving, just bought the kit.
the muhle r41 is my daily shaver
I use a Merkur 1904 open comb
I think the best shaving kit is very subjective but this starter kit is pretty good for the price. Might have to pick up the soap to try, I dig the label design.
Can you post a link to that kit?
Can you make a video of the best barbershop scents ? Thanks!
Roger Duran Seville, Ghost town barber, Kraken
.
I just ordered 2 of those *RazoRock Quick Change razors.* 1 4 my stepson & 1 4 my grandson. _They're both lazy so the quick cleaning of the razor should really appeal to them._ lol
.
Don't use the *Muhle R41.* Use the *Merkur 25C* or the *Parker 24C.*
*_Open comb_*_ is the most efficient way to remove long hair without a doubt!_ You know this Nick.
not sure if i missed it, but are you using the derby blades? or another DE blade
Where do I get this at
That brush alone is worth the money. Great brush!
Mine arrived today and sure is a good value. I love Italian Barber. Of course, they always throw in some samples of products. The Quick Change Razor is a knockoff of the Vikings Blade Chieftain. but with a shorter guard and not as heavy.
You should do a video where you try to get the cheapest wet shaving gear possible while still being a good shave. I reckon you could get a cheap chinese razor, some derby blades, an arko stick and a cheap brush for under $10.
Excellent video Nick, don't know about the razor or the blades but the soap and the brush sounds very appealing to me
Which starter kit is it?
Movember...should be called "No-shave-nobody-gives-a-shit."
Nick I’d like to see you use something adjustable like the Ming Shi razor. Under $10 razor but does the job so well. Basically the same as the Merkur Futur.
Those baili razors really aren't bad at all! I'm impressed with the RR WTP soap, it looked like even just the bloom water started to lather with your fingers.
I'm still new to wet-shaving and I just recently tried a soap for the first time. Being that I much prefer face lathering, I went with a couple of sticks rather than pucks which I found to be incredibly user friendly. Why don't sticks receive more recommendation for beginners? They're much more user friendly.
That razor looks exactly like the Vikings Blade Chieftain, which runs for $37 by itself.
Derby blades....Not the greatest, but good for atleast one shave. Just careful with multiple passes on the shave. Best item on there is the brush. Soft wonderful goodness! lol
Excellent video, Nick! This is now going to be what I recommend when suggesting gear to new wet shavers. Loving the variety of your newest videos. What RazoRock razor is your personal favorite?
That Razor is made in China under the name of Baili BD179 and can be found dirt cheap on Ali Express.
I need to try derby blades again. I tried them once and it was awful. I was using a 59 super speed. Might try it in a adjustable or something since most say its a decent blade.
Nice kit nick me2 also participating in movember why don't you buy the merkur futur for ur movember shave
For just a trim like that I don't use anything but the razor, no soap, works fine if you don't dilly dally too long after getting out of the shower.
Question for you Nick can you please do a video of the stick version of the same soap you're using in this video? Thanks.
That's a great deal, all that for half the price or the merkur 34c. Even if not the best quality great for a travel set if nothing else.
We can understand by the noise that this blade isn't sharp.
I purchased the brush based on your recommendation Nick and i have not been disappointed, its an amazing brush!
Lol when you said it smelled of citrus and powder I thought what do you mean laundry soap?
Blue tee shirts suit you! Reminds me of Superman! Surely someone else has commented on that.
Best wet shave kit: Merkur Progress, Semogue boar brush, Proraso soap, Gillette Rubie/Nacet.
Thanks Nick! This video came just in time I’ve been looking around for the best starter kit to get my dad into wet shaving for Christmas
Looks identical to the Rockwell R1 razor
Sorry my ignorance , im an rookie yet change at DE razor , the shaving soap when brush and form that paste after i only clean with water the soap and ready for the next shave, how much can long that shaving soap sorry my english thanks
Oscr M....If I'm getting this right you're asking how long the soap lasts. If you shave once or twice a week the soap should last a few months.
The RazorRock Quick-Change razor is a rebranded Baili razor, if you don't know about this
Good call! I will mention this in a future video
Great kit! Oh, Italian barber has their what the puck soaps on sale right now for $2.99.
Haha, I posted that right before you mentioned the promo. Lol
That's a great deal, not a fan of the derby blades but the rest of the kit is a steal.
Well spoken, awesome video. 10 months late but great nonetheless!
It's cool to see that they used this review to accompany the page for the kit.
Just ordered the kit tonight. They are out of stock on the aftershave though :(
What is the best shaving soap you've encountered so far?
That is stupid . I shave when I want .
Nick, what did you think of that shave soap.
Derby blades are the shit. I don't care what anyone says.
IDWIE there was a time maybe 10 years ago that any forum members like on B&B and others used to have derby as their go to shaving blades...
Beyboo Boy When I was getting into wet shaving, all I kept hearing was Feather, Feather, Feather, and Derby is a starter blade. Have tried many blades including Feather and Derby keeps being the smoothest.
I'm in the Derby blades are shit camp. I can't understand why some people say they are smooth, to me they are rough and really irritating. Last time I used one my neck was red for 2 days, and I don't have sensitive skin.
Ray R I guess we're all different. I have crazy sensitive skin and Derby is the only razor that doesn't irritate my skin. Are you using a good soap/alum block/after shave? What blades work for you?
Obviously we are all different. Yep, I think I was using Stirling then and I use an alum block. A lot of blades work for me, Astra SP, Polsilver, Dorco's, Bolzano etc...
one day left then goodbye to Nick's beard ):
Thanks, Nick- enjoy the rest of the week. Take care!
Nice products details provided
Do you bloom all of your soaps or just the soaps that are very hard? Like you, I have a few more days before the beard comes off. I really been working on my straight this month. I figure I might be able to use it for a full shave by December. We'll see...
Joe Jackson all artisans I've seen on r/w_e say to not bloom their soaps. Maybe if the soap is extremely hard but you shouldn't bloom 99% of them.
That is why I was asking. Because in almost every video, I see him bloom the soap. Thanks.
Where do you order all of your stuff from
Good to have you back Nick!
Your awesome man, love watching your videos. You've inspired me to purchase a safety razor and begin my unbelievable shaving experience!
Thanks man! I am glad that you are enjoying a safety razor and that my videos have been helpful
nick shaves so ummm........can I please have that brush in your giveaway?
nick shaves I entered 😆
👍 Nice kit for the price! 💈
Great starter kit.
I think you have an inaccuracy in the description. Razor from RazoRock. ) Thanks for good shaving video!
This is perfect thanks Nick! I have 3 kits to buy for Christmas this year for my boys. Kits I was looking at all ranged around 50. You just saved me some money!
Really used to like Nick, but since he started growing that beard don't see a point in his videos. It's not wet shaving its trimming.
I’ve tried the what the puck Orange sunrise soap...excellent scent..I’m gonna order the other 2. Great video!
I bought that one too, and the line. I think that the orange is the best scent, but at the price point they are all worth it!
