Trent, Peter and TV on the radio decide to do a pre-show soundcheck together completely spur of the moment, and people expect it to be flawless? Trent is true to his own style, and so is Peter and TVoR, and the best part of the video is in my opinion seeing the mix of these diverse musicians. Learn to appreciate what you're given.
I''m an old Bauhaus fan and didn't want to like this, but I have to say that Trent did justice to the song. I'm impressed. I'm equally impressed with Peter's performance of "Reptile". All of the videos I've seen with them working together on this tour has blown me away. I wish they would put out an album with this stuff on it. I especially like "Warm Leatherette" and "Reptile".
The audio is pretty good quality! Thank you! What an incredible collaboration! HUGH NIN Fan! And TV on the Radio has some bangers! And Peter Murphy is closer to David Bowie than most of us.
This video is as old as youtube. I remember when I used to have it saved as a bookmark, before they had enough videos to make you sign up for an account and save favorites. Glad it's still up :)
Simply awesome. The crowd didn't seem to know what was actually happening. And the fact that Bauhaus were such an influential band. Still my all time fav.
Some days ago I heard this in a club. It was "Most Wanted: Nine Inch Nails vs Sisters of Mercy" evening, the two top voted bands for the month taking up 2/3 of the program, mixed with genre typical other stuff. I hear this, and it starts like... "hm, this is another version" then the singing starts and I'm like "wtf? Is this Trent Reznor???" :D So. Fucking. Awesome. Not only to hear Trent singing this (in fact I like Peter Murphys voice better for this song, although I'm a huge NIN fan), simply the fact, that they did this together, but most of all how TV on the Radio arranged this. Really good sound.
Peter and Trent are actually really good friends who have collaborated mulitple times. Peter as always is amazing in this video and trent is always great in his own right.
Bela Lugosi's Dead is one of my top favorite songs. I am a fan of both Peter Murphy and Trent. I have had the pleasure meeting them both. Peter Murphy I met him in Atlanta and NIN I met them in Houston while NIN was just an opening act. So seeing them together is a nice change and especially on Bela.
William Purdy Oh crap... Soon midday, full sun, 32 degrees (Celsius) and sound of waves beating on the beach. Due to circumstances, I hope listening to Bauhaus in daytime is forgiven. No way I’m spending the night here.
I've loved Bauhaus and NIN for years, so this was rad. I have gotta say though...I have a new found and GREAT respect for TV on the Radio. That band sounded great behind Peter and Trent. Seriously.
This is incredible as all hell. They are, in some respects, the perfect horror-combo. Murphy is every movie-monster, every cinematic over-the-top Thing That Goes Bump In The Night, while Reznor is a beast, plain and simple.

I came across this video years ago, to this day still one of my favorite videos I've ever come across. Trent, Peter, TVOTR... Full bodygasm. Every. Time.
I can't freaking believe these two legends had performed together on stage. NIN/Trent is my favorite of all time because of Peter Murphy. In early 90's, I was going to the famous 9:30 Club in DC to see Peter Murphy in concert but he wasn't performing the night we went. It was a very young NIN. We decided to watch their show, it was awesome and NIN has been my favorite of all time since. Several great groups have come thru the 9:30 Club but NIN owns it by far!!!
I remember how strange it was during this tour for me and my wife. We were in the PIT/GA section up front in their Camden, NJ leg of the tour and hardly anyone in in the crowd had any idea who Peter Murphy or Bauhaus were. . . . I felt old to say the least, lol, but even more disappointed that more of the younglings aren't checking out the amazing groups that were quite instrumental in Trent's musical direction & inspiration. Bauhaus, Peter Murphy, Joy division, the cure, Ministry and Coil (just to name a few) were huge influences on Trent. . . . and are great bands that still have albums and songs that still to this day, stands the test of time. . . . the Cure, Bauhaus and Joy Division should be in everyone's rotation.
I'm amazed sometimes how connected we are, considering how many people are on the planet. I was at the same show as you, in the pit as well. Also went to Holmdel and AC that year. I've been listening to NIИ since 93. My younger brother got into them because of me, so whenever a tour was announced, right away we were making plans to which ones we'd go. But the Camden show was extra special!! My dad was my best friend and I was always his little girl. He raised me right, taught me valuable lessons and loved his music - from LZ, Bruce, Queen to RATM and yes, NINE INCH NAILS. My father came with us to the show and had an amazing time, even with the crazy younger ones who will mosh at anything. At one point I even turned around to check on him. He was 6'1 but in his 50s and his face was red like he was hot. Asked him if he's ok and he told me he's just making sure I don't get hit or kicked (gotta love him for that, even though my brother and I almost always got GA tix, so it wasn't my first time LOL). A little over 3 years after that he passed. (Another odd thing - the anniversary of his death is coming up in a few days.) I have many good memories with him. But being with him at the 2006 Camden show, in the pit, watching my favorite band while my dad sang along will always be something I'm eternally grateful for. To this day, I still have and wear the shirt he bought at that show. **lil side note - last November at the last minute I was able to get a ticket to see Tool in Newark. The show was on the anniversary of my father's death and I went for both of us, because I know he'd want me there thinking of him. Show is over and I look to my right to see a guy and maybe a 13 year old girl. I ask the guy if it was his daughter and it was. So I quickly shared the story I just shared with you, told them he died on that day quite a few years ago and for them both to go to as many concerts together as possible. Who knew I'd leave a comment about so many memories just because of the turns I took while cruising around UA-cam 😊
@@Redhotrussian1Tis a small world my friend. That's very awesome. We were slightly to between the center and the right side, facing the stage. At the end of Bauhaus' set, Kevin Haskins threw a drumstick into the crowd, right at me (probably because he saw us dancing the entire set, lol) and tried as i might, it hit my fingers and this young goth girl caught it. . . . . In an infinite gesture of kindness she gave it to me as she knew we were such crazy fans...... I wish I knew her name so I could thank her again......
@@thespyinthecab7538 that is definitely awesome as people become animals when it comes to shit like that (baseball fans came right to my mind and how they practically dive into rows below them for a ball 😂). I'm proud of the NIИ memorabilia I got at a show (nobody incurred any injuries because nobody was paying attention lol). Again brother and I went to their show in Philly in 2005. Got there extra early because my brother heard they were bringing in a small amount of people to watch them practice. They had us sit in the seats until they were ready. As everyone was walking to the stage, they were hustlin, trying to get as close as possible. I was just walking casually, happen to look down and there was a light blue NIИ guitar pick. I was super happy and laughing as all those people literally walked over it. That was a great show, but even better to see him in person go nuts on the equipment like he used to so often.
