Wow ! Where The Heck was,, Un-Dead Indeed the,, I missed Seeing Him at Reggies, I think he did a Chicago University Hall +/- atleast a Couple Years. I Missed Nick at zthe Auditorium. ( Do You Love Me ?..like I Love You. ) PANDEMIC BE-DAMNED.
Trent has always tried to be real serious, which is why he's so fucking funny. Pete on the other hand is naturally cool, and hence does not give a fuck
Even though I was aware and a massive fan of N.I.N.after buying Pretty Hate Machine when I was around 11, My sister introduced me to the live recording of a set they did with the suitcase that had a light in it and just like..everything went together for them that night as Daniel looked tough as fuck too with his leather sadist look. However, Trent is a talented singer yet he knows where his limitations are and what keys to avoid and I never really hear vibrato or sustained notes that much. Peter on the other hand, blew me away the first time I watched that concert tape all the way through, stopped it and while it rewound to the beginning I'd try and wrap my head around Pete's flawless tone and pitch as well as his classically executed framing and breathe control. Both men are born performers/musicians but I'd have to put Peter at a slight advantage (half a point) on the scale of disciplined vocalist because he was enrolled in college level performing arts classes and workshops. Although, Reznor can still sing any random groupie out of their panties with his tone and technique akin to wet glass along with the custom chord progressions you'll only hear in NIN songs. Closer is a good example but also The Perfect Drugs acoustic scaling at the beginning of the song is a better example of his own style. This is just my subjective opinion however and I'd still go to either of their shows on account of loving both of their music very much. But alas...I've never gotten the chance to see either of them live 😕
Seriously, I've probably listened to this at least 50 times and that note's so freaking long I didn't even realize that was Peter Murphy until I read these comments.
I've watched this countless times over the years. Trent's half-whispering gives me chills. Murphy's casual awesomeness is fantastic. TOTR hit every note perfectly. It's epic. This is the kind of gold I come to UA-cam for.
Met Peter Murphy when his first solo album came out in the 80s, when I worked at a local new wave radio station. Very nice man, very slight, soft spoken, not gothy at all, lol. But Trent and Peter together would have made my head explode back in the day!
This is from a soundcheck that contest winners were allowed to come see, so they are loving it but there are so few of them it's hard to tell. I'm guessing there is maybe 50 people or so. max 100.
I've seen Peter 3 or 4 times over the last 20 something years and I love how he moves the mic closer and farther from his mouth, a master vocalist who understands how to create......
Wow, fucking Peter Murphy shows up and Effortlessly takes over with natural gusto ...while smoking a cigarette. THAT man is the master. See him live *EVERY* chance you can. Nothing in his performance deteriorates over time.
Trent always the passionate vocalist , and then Pepe fires off a post smoke vocal NICE!!!. I was thinking the smoke was gone clog his sound but he cut right through it.
I went to Ireland Belfast. They did the same thing my high school did when I gave them NIN. I stand by convictions. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this. Beautiful 😢
@@ambiguous974 bunnies Rock. They are so fun and playful you just have to train them. Is it me or has Peter Murphy gotten even cooler with age? What a true star

I love how serious everyone is while Murphy's just smoking and throwing petals around.
Pete is normally the serious one
This happens because he is god

Brignoli Matteo ok grazie mille 8
Peters voice is sooooo good. I smoked for 37 years my voice is blown out... some people are just blessed.
No pressure to sing, Trent, Peter Murphy is just right over there, while holding a note for about a week.
It is an insanely long note, particularly for a man wielding a cigarette so ostentatiously

I love how raw this is………no fancy lights…..no fancy stage…..just musicians making magic…….
Well said
That's why Massive Attack made a circus out of this song, Too bad
There's too much cool on this stage for me to handle.

what a machine, to belt that out at his age while smoking a cigarette. truly undead undead undead...
Bauhaus expressed how how I felt in the 80s, NIN did the did the same late 1990- 2000s - Amazing to see Pete and Trent together !

I'm kinda surprised Peter doesn't pick up a cowbell or triangle or some equally absurd musical instrument and start wailing away on it!
My favourite bands are NIN and Bauhaus, so this is perfect
Saw NIN's live at reading and Bauhaus back in the 80's, mate was the bassist in the cult the support band they killed it Daniel Ash had a tantrum lol.
If Peter Murphy starts a cult, I’m IN!
Where do I sign?
It’s called being goth he kinda birthed the post punk/ goth scene lol
He is a legend cult. Best bass voice ever
Oh to be annointed with those petals💛
