    I may have seen 20 to 30 videos on you tube to learn techniques of freestyle swimming. I am just a beginner, so in my opinion, this video has inspired me, and given tips to do the best style amongst several free style techniques, especially since my aim is to swim efficiently, sustainable without injury to shoulders joints, and most importantly enjoyable

    Your approach seems fairly close to what I was taught in the late 1990s, which probably kept me in the sport. Before that I was finding it very exhausting to swim, and harder and harder to return to training.
    Regarding the kick, I generally use a two-beat kick, but occasionally throw in some four-beat or six-beat kicking in shorter swims. The elite swimmers use a variety of kicks, such as Ledecky's two-beat vs Titmus' six-beat in the same race. My view is to use the strong kick if you find it propulsive, but to stick to a low-energy kick if you don't.

    I purchased your course and couldn’t swim a week ago and was afraid of the deep end. I made it across the deep end of the pool today. I just have to learn to swim straight. I haven’t even incorporated the foot flick yet. Thanks Adam

    im fascinated by swimming and this year i have started to get into it after so many years avoiding it. i can run a half marathon without preparation, or go for a 100km bike ride. just like that. so yes, my body has a lot of oxygen available. yet swimming is totally different and taxing on that. hopefully i can learn the right techniques to overcome that 🙂

    I taught my kids to jump with straight head neck body and walk straight, and run straight head neck body, many find it hard to swim due to habitual posture when standing and walking , in water you need to extend your body longest, then you learn to rotate at an angle best fit your breathing, the rest will be improved naturally when you have practised adequately, just like driving a car with experiences your coordination comes naturally

    • @TwoWheelsCraft
      @TwoWheelsCraft 11 місяців тому

      yes, as your recovery hand goes to front crawl position at this time u r almost flat, u can call this process INITIAL HIP DROP which is natural fall of the Hip.
      Now, you initiate Hip Kick Pull sequence. Try this method and see for your self. watch more of his rotation videos. Then u can connect what i have just said.

      @@adamwalker32 Please elaborate on this - Chris (an international oarsman) Is is an horizontal line parallel with the bottom of the pool once you have gone over the ball or is it once you start the pull action avoid going down the bottom of the pool AND out sideways It is very interesting to hear you coach as this is just how I coached a winning Henley crew by telling them to do very soft quick catches and only to START pulling after 30% of the stroke had elapsed and then only to pull progressively I am laughed at by all the standard coaches who like to load up early and hang onto it.

    I'm new to your videos. I like your plain talking expresion of what you see is going on. I subscribed! In this video, I am curious because I know I have half the story reasonably well organised, but eqully the other half seems to be in constant development and constant 'research' to bring it together! 🤪. I am sure I am in a big group. But you make a few comments that i haven't yet worked out - maybe i need to watch it again - but in my case, your comments about bouyancy 'aids' (wetsuits/shorts/floats etc) don't quite fit. Right now, I know I am doing something wrong because i will be lucky if i get 0.1% locamotion from my kick, forget 10% 😄 (no, I don't have a penalty kicker's foot!). So while I am aware of this, it is highlighted in the contrast between salt water anf fresh water. The latter meaning I cannot stop swimming, or I will sink, literally 😄. So my comment on your video, in relation to my own experience, is the absence of more emphasis on a good leg kick. I probably look like you swimming from the side of the pool, but under the water, I'm wondering if your leg kick has more significance to the whole jigsaw than pehaps you thought to comment on?

    The arm doesn't pull the water back and that shouldn't be the aim. The arm can either anchor itself in the water or slip through it. You want to achieve the former. Then you pull your body forward over the anchored arm. This has all been demonstrated by research studies. If you imagine pulling yourself forward over an anchored arm then you will be visualising what you are actually aiming to do. Do not fool yourself into thinking that you pull water backwards.

    Many thanks for these best tech instructions on YT. BUT, what an annoying lawn behind, replacing the primary forest and biodiversity. At least all new swiming pools should be environmentally friendly, such as, maybe, a mini pool including swiming turbine powered by renewable energies. I am designing one that includes one reused washing machine engine that is controlled in speed. I will publish that as soon as it is implemented

    • @JustinaZenOnDVD

      @@Dinckelburg i understand i didn't comment the right way, sorry. Swimming should not have negative effects on nature. Swimmers in open water are immersed in nature, they are witness of plastic wastes floating, decay of algae and underwater life. This is related to our land management, waste management... For years I destroyed our planet swimming, by driving to heated chlorined public pools. I feel concerned now. Through this video I witnessed many negative impacts, that's why it is not off topic to suggest and share improvements, it is not at all a way to express pride self esteem, it is a way of survival for our close future. Sorry for my english, however I hope you understand better now? I intend to share my improvements in swimming through open source license, it is not an attempt to make money, only to share and make swimming non destructive at last.
