Wow wow wow. I trained here for years back pre covid and I can say it’s a gem of a gym. My dumbass literally had no idea Jocko recorded there- I was just treated like family by coaches and staff alike. Victory is a great place and will absolutely recover. Good luck and god speed guys.

Been putting in the grit to sit and meditate every damn day and you know what, I feel so damn real these past weeks, through thick and thin. It's amazing, can't recommend enough - go at-least 20+ mins, not the 5min stuff. Vibrancy turned up, no vice or distraction needed. First lesson, let the timer go, it doesn't exist till it dings. I thought we just meditate in what we do but to be honest it works way damn better going super vanilla authentic, put in the grit to sit on the ground, proper posture, eyes closed, mind open.

I thought this was gonna be a video about: oh fuck there was a fire in our gym. But this actually motivated me on how you guys reacted. Something bad happened, but we’re going to do our best to clean it up and get the gym open as fast as possible, with almost no emotion interfering. Good way to think. Good luck with the clean up

Terrible situation but absolutely LOVE the attitude of everybody in spite of that. The gym will be fixed and better than it ever was.

I appreciate and look up to people like Jocko. I AM what's wrong with society today. It all started wit my generation and its only going to get worse until it gets better. There has to be a wasted generation or two to make people realize that this is not the way and people will bounce back. Its very late for me to make the changes I have to as the time flies by and I still am in the spot I started from. I hope for the sake of my sister and the rest of the children that they will grow a conscience and learn from our mistakes.

People rarely think of it like Arnold does about gym time. It is kind of wild to know that you're only 50 gym trips and 12 grocery store trips away from a radically different body. Or a 1000 workout sessions and 150 trips to the grocery store to being fit enough to pass a selection course, if that is your goal.

Interesting Jocko's perspective on the school kids..... many times he has talked about the younger generation still "having it". That was a pretty sincere assessment and one I can't say isn't pretty accurate nationally. The gym will be a pilgrimage locations after they rebuild and the story behind it.

Used to be an avid chess player and no one ever flipped boards or got emotional because we viewed every game as an opportunity to develop. Chess professionals literally record their piece movements on a grid through notation move by move to study and analyze play patterns and mistakes independently.
Chess is less of a game so much as it's a lifestyle but ironically it doesn't translate to other areas of life. Like at all. It's a glorified puzzle game attributed to status and intelligence erroneously. It's just about pattern recognition through repetition at the highest levels but most players will never say this because they want the misattributed status.
Notice how anyone involved in either the military or MMA can get the worst possible circumstances thrown at them that would break a normal person and instead they just just shrug it off. Something to be learned there, constant stress creates calm savages. Those kids don't know how lucky they are that they got career day from Jocko also.

This is really strange the gym I attend in Olympia wa had a fire a week ago. It was an arson attempt but sprinkler system put it out. Destroying all our mats and gear and Sheetrock.
He was such a inspiration while growing up. That all ended with his Covid behavior. I think it was "!$%# your freedoms" sorry can't get behind this and hope your not joining or part of the dark side.
