As a card game yugioh isn't gonna get any better and yugioh master duel reflects that with thousands of unfair cards you would have thought they were fake fan made cards years ago with their effects. Behold this reality in this set of "matches".

YuGiOh is just a glorified single player game now.
I’m a classic Yugi oh fans too, got into the game because watching some Master duel stream on youtube recently.
My last strong deck was Lightsworn, but my fav always been Blue Eyes Deck.
I was shocked on how far the game has changed.
I’m using basic free Synchro which we get from the start of the game.
Playing Duelist Cup with it, I can’t even summon my synchro or go to my second turn lol.
My first experience with Floowandreeze was in Duelist Cup, it looks so cute thats what I thought. Oh it just little birds, but nope, they are little demons. They are Toxic freakin birds, also don’t forget Runick.
I recently join the dark side with Branded Despia, waste all my resource on that deck.
Get a lot satisfaction when match up with Floowandreeze, just summon 2 Masquerade dragons. So they need to pay 1200 of their LP everytime they activate those damn birds effects.
But it kinda felt empty, I miss my Blue Eyes Deck, I really hope Konami can make Classic or certain banlist mode like you said.
Sincerely missed the time where we can only summon one monster card per turn up to 3 if you special summon.
I’m old school YuGIOh also. I totally understand some duels are one sided. But when it’s duel after duel it just doesn’t become fun anymore.

@@Blueniterthe super heavy samurai got new supports but instead of playing the archetype, they prefer the ftk instead which leads to link 1 heavy samurai to get banned

They would need to ban over a decade of cards to make the game good again.
just look at master duels, created for rich japanese children who use the credit card of daddy to buy jewels to buy thousands of cardpacks, to make one turn kill decks or " i summong 5 mosnters with over 3000 atk in ym first turn and negate all combos you wanan play" komai ruined yugioh with link, xyz and pendel summoning
I say they ruined the game with Links a lot more than they did with Pendulums. And at Least XYZs were a genuine Out compared to a Lot of Decks that could Run Synchros with Ease, while Most Decks like Lightsworns didn’t get and helpful tuners till really Late in 5DS to Zexal Era!
Imagine ygo made a spell/trap card that are designed to basically destroys Synchro/xyz/link monster. That would definitely can turn the tables around.
Like let's make a spell/traps that basically put such summons in a lifeline where the moment it gets destroyed by Raigeki or monster effect it will also destroyed the equipped card. that would give the players to think twice

I mean they do have Dimensional Barrier. Works on Pendy, Synchro, Fusion and XYZ. So everything but Link. Though you can *kinda* still Pendulum summon under it 😅
Yeah I just struggle to actually have fun in this game. The Master Duel community is mostly netdecking toxic tryhard whales that play the most broken decks, and the game rewards them with gems. If you play casual mode you can't progress which is why that mode is just useless garbage. The dailies suck, the games a grindfest. I'd rate the game a 5/10. If it had all the cards unlocked at the start like YgoOmega, wasn't pay to win, had many modes, old school, best of 3, TCG and OCG modes and had better servers, I'd give the game a 10/10 and would even spend $60.00 on it. But that's just all hopes and dreams at this point. Just not a very fun game that I won't spend a penny on.
Ye. I would prefer it more that the game make us buy a bunch of card packs instead cause that way us the player gets to decide our own creation of a deck rather than stick to a certain set of decks. Plus the thing is that many people try to defend it is that the game supposed to be played based off of the rl comp not table lunch ygo. Yeah that is the thing it is a game on phone it doesn't have to follow the rules for comp match. Like where is the strats here? Seriously I remember that someone try to own me by Yubel decks only for them immediately forfeit after I forced their Yubel to get destroyed via six samurai spell card.
As an old-school Yugioh fan who has returned to collecting cards and played Master Duel recently, that game definitely needs more content like Goat format, player versus CPU mode, and such. That solo mode was lame, though.

When you watch these Master Duel deck reply showcase on UA-cam you notice how they're almost always the ones going first with rare occasions going second in this modern age format. I can no longer take any of them seriously anymore when were literally staking in-game currency to build them only to be left disappointed and empty.
When decks don't have good solutions going second against Toxic GOAT Degeneracy builds like Runicks/Sprights besides rare occasions of you drawing that one out or them bricking it demonstrates how low this game sunk in terms of Fun and Playability.
I miss all those old cards that got banned for no reason when they were balanced already or replaced for being advantage with hand traps that allow pretty much unlimited play or archetype cards.
This game needs some drastic changes something like only 1 type of extra deck monster or something and make it 2 special summones max per turn reduce the scope of the game and slow it down
What is a shame is that at least when it comes to card art and aesthetics they are still amazing.

Man I had the same experience, ranked duels are just so incredibly unenjoyable, I was also simply absolutely done with it. I see you play quite Thematic decks in general, if you're ever down to try out a Thematic duel feel free to let me know, I have faith it can revive the excitement ruined by Master Duel's terrible ranked duels experience
Imagine playing against Floo without their generic backrow (Solemn's, imperm etc), and other archetypal cards Mist Valley Apex, Riza. Floo'd have their healthy weaknesses. You could stand a chance with them with many decks :)
The fixing of the game would be:
1:Limiting special summons to 2 per turn
2:Remove Hand Traps or Balance them to have higher drawbacks
3:No same name spell card played in the same turn
4:Make all monsters with multiple effects to be able to activate only one effect per turn
5:Raigeky,feather duster and all remove/destroy cards have some kind of cost
6:Limit broken cards like Mirror Force and Broken effect monsters to 1 so you can actually play around them
7:Remove monsters that special summon from hand by tributing opponent's monsters,like kaijus and lava golem
Adjusting the game with these rules would make the game great again and nobody would be able to play 5 boss monsters in their first turn and negate anything you try to do in your turn by negating everything with either broken traps or broken monster effects.Stop the solitaire autoplay decks,nobody cares if most curent meta decks are going to die and nobody would play them,that way you would see every duelist with a different deck,archtypes is the worst thing ever happened to yugioh.
You can’t fix it. Your fixing would make decks that get to their broken bossmonsters with less specialsummons tier 0 and everything else garbage. All those monsters to deal with broken boards like kaijus and handtraps to break an invoked mechaba + winda (2 sp sums) endboard in turn 2 would be gone.
The only fix if I were to call it that is to make a new slower YGO with sets and rotations like most other card games
To make good cards you need gems, to get gems you need to win in ranked, to win at ranked you need good cards. So to be able to get gems to simply make a deck I need to surrender as soon as I see my opponents deck isn’t rouge tier because if I lose after waiting 2-5 minutes I’ll get maybe 20 gems once a day.. so instead I surrender, find that one guy who’s also using a rogue deck, have a fun match and earn 100-300 gems. Then repeat surrender till I find another one after 10-15 generic opponents.
I have like two normal decks and three meta decks in master duel . And I don't play with the meta because for the good of me I can't stand doing the same thing in every duel . I play cyber dragon or heroes for fun . That's it . Once in a month
my biggest issue with master duel maxx c is still at 3 copies and that its one round only so you never really get to learn from your mistake or if your side board is any good or not because there isnt and most people who play it just want do a really quick one round duel that either otks or ftks and then go back to thier lunch break or just dont wish to play a game longer than 5 minutes

MasterDuelCentral just had a "legacy pack" only cash tournament yesterday. You should check it out. There should be many more non modern tournaments to come. The most fun a lot of us had in a while.

@@welowee7610 It was 100% free to enter, all were welcome. The reason Konami won't give us more modes is because they already have a small-ish active player base. I still face plat duelists in ranked while I'm in diamond.

I think anyone would agree that one of the biggest upsides to Yu-Gi-Oh is that there was potential that you could still play the same deck you played years ago and with some tweeking it could still be viable. They've completely thrown out that concept. You can't even play an archetype from a year ago and hope to win now. I don't want to be forced to play Snake Eyes or Yubel.
This whole game is fucked. Only a hard reset can fix it.

I understand your frustration. I recently became frustrated with the solo mode loaner decks and just pressed the A button for the majority of the match and ended up winning against the CPU. I think that's a testiment to how decks can be auto pilot. Maybe the CPU bricked, but me pressing "OK" in blind frustration should not give me the wins I got doing that. Never even played the loaner deck either.
the duels in solo mode seem to be mirror matches so there are time when you draw poorly and just get obliterated by the AI who knows how to use the deck better. they’re meant to be tutorials of sorts but they’re surprisingly difficult.
They need to make resource nodes. One node one card you can play on board. You strat with 2 nodes. And get one node every turn like hearthstone. And 1 node equals one card you can play on board

Learn them. It's not a test to get into NASA. Or you can just download Yugioh Master Duel and play the tutorials. If you know the basics then you just have to learn about the new extra deck summons.
You dont need to learn anything,you will very rarely get to actually play the game that due to the fact that if your opponent goes first they are going to summon all their monsters with 3k+ attack in first turn by searching trough their decks for 5 minutes,and by the time you start your turn even before your draw phase they are going to activate some graveyard effect that lets them special summon another 5 weak monsters which they are going to link together or xyz or syncro(all of that happening in your turn before you even get to play your first card)and then when you think its finally over and you can start playing the game the first card you gonna play is going to get negated same for the second and then you are left with nothing so u just set 2 cards and maybe manage to summon a monster in defence,then in turn 3 they are not even gonna need to go to battle phase to remove your monster,they are going to somehow remove all your board and use the battle phase to OTK you,have fun playing modern yougioh its such a masterpiece of enjoyement....

I suppose at least these types of videos are made as a result. I won't quit yugioh master duel completely it's just going to be more random and it's going to be a long while until that happens. The point is I won't stress about it as I have been, trying to keep up with making pokemon videos and worrying that I'm neglecting yugioh master duel. Who knows, maybe we'll get digimon tcg online and then that changes everything again.
I agree with 90% of what you say but lightning storm and harpy feather duster are the lesser broken cards now days. At least heavy storm would wipe your own field and you could just not set all your defenses at once for the field wipes but nowadays I'll still use a feather duster and watch their bs monsters make cards like that useless too. Literally going back to your original point of broken cards being unbroken by newer more broken cards
You're right they're not the problem cards that promote degenerate special summoning and auto win boards but in a different environment they are broken. The problem with modern yugioh is that it has a mix of broken cards from all eras and it broadens and randomizes the possibility for outs and answers. As you say, Heavy Storm would have normally been the more balanced of the 3 since if you set your own backrow and don't use it's going to even out all the cards you were going to pop on your opponent. But pendulum sommoning changed that. If I have a hand with a few backrows and don't set them for fear of Duster etc. my opponenet is free to do whatever they want and the game is so fast and broken that if you don't stop them they'll checkmate you with an auto win board without you even playing. If you set even 2 without protection and your opponent has the Duster you lose either way. Even going as far as in 2010 early 2011 you could afford to set 1 backrow to play around Heavy Storm. You can't do that anymore, this is why hand traps are such a big deal, they are essentially traps that you can use even before you play if got them in your starting hand. But now let's say I'm using a lower tier deck like Constellars or Evilswarm. All of a sudden now multiple Raigekis, Lightning Storms etc. are really unfair. This is why I say it's a clusterfuck, there is no way to fix or balance the game as it is now because there too many broken cards, or cards that were not designed with modern yugioh in mind to begin with.
@@SaberWolf94 play around their lightning storm OG cards can still do that a perfect old school one is Judgment of Anubis not only does it negate a spell that targets your backrow they destroy one of their monsters and they take damage equal to their attack. I can see your prefer true Arc-Types. But spirit reaper and Marshmallon have kept players at bay using also spirit barrier to protect against piercing damage. Also using dimensional Fissure with Limit Area lv B and your traditional borad wipers. I'm beaten most of the top meta decks with these strategies, ik only named a few cards while so meta decks it's a 50% chance of victory it can handle mid tier meta decks quite easily.
@@Citizen_Nappa23 If I could magically have all the right counters at the right time I would have nothing to complain about as I would always win. Judgment of Anubis is a a cost and very situational, Starlight Road is better and even that card is too situational to be effective. Even Magic Drain and Magic Jammer are probably better choices as at least they give you more range in the cards you will negate. If you're seeing success with your deck that's fine but if it was that simple nobody would have a problem with modern yugioh.
Modern Yugioh looks like classic/vintage MTG. Constantly fishing cards from your deck and summoning stuff for 10 minutes.

Negations shouldn't go on boss monsters. You shouldnt have yiur cake and eat it too with a 3k boss with negation.
Stuff like this is the reason why GOAT and Edison format are getting so popular, even other retro formats are making a resurgence because Modern Yugioh is just so bad.
The community will have to come together on discord or something to get retro decks to be a thing.. Konami will listen once they start losing money to a discord chat.. but as long as smooth brained 12 year olds keep giving them money for their power creep cards they won’t ever hear the OG’s.
I play a $30 deck and have a lot of fun. It’s interactive, consistent, doesn’t use the extra deck. It doesn’t autopilot and you have to pay attention to what’s happening to properly pilot it and squeeze a win out. I don’t think everybody needs to start playing retro decks or anything, but maybe trying some new archetypes out and changing the scene you play in would affect how you feel about the game.
To be honest I enjoy vids like this coz at least someone is telling the truth about how shit this game has become and how unfortunate to c the game i grew up loving so much turn into clusterfk.

While I prefer modern yugioh and always will (older formats are just boring to play/watch for me) I do wish they would just add the time wizard format already. Like set up 3 or 4 different time periods through yugiohs history for others to play when they want to.

@@TheKnightOfBuquicious It's not about playability it is the design philosophy that has led to what yugioh is today. If you take the ex era of pokemon sets 2003-2007 for example you'll find how beautifully they compliment each other from the newest to oldest. For modern yugioh it's like they don't believe in their own product, they have been one upping their own cards so that competitive players are all but forced to upgrade to the new broken archetypes or they'll make some insane staple extra deck monster that you just have to get once again just to drive sales. A good and complimentary format is not a priority for them as long as they sell cards. We'd get a few bumps here and there all the way till the zexal era and it was in arc v when everything went to hell. Introducing the beyond broken pendulum mechanic and then having to buff everything else as a result. Now there's no return. I could go on for hours and it is indeed more complicated than that but yeah I did quit and only came back to make videos when master duel came out.
@@SaberWolf94 powercreep is a thing that exists even in games with rotation otherwise pokemon today would still have the same hp values and effects on the levels of those from the original releases yet they don't. nothing in old pokemon was close to all the lost zone shit, chien-pao ex and so on. but yeah they release more powerful stuff in order to make sure it sells as without a rotation, making underpowered stuff will just make it flop so it's not insecurity and moreso just how it is lol
anyway yeah, i like it being at a high power level that it is today, as well as the advantages no rotation offer. adding alternative modes to master duel would be nice, sure, but at the same time those other, older formats already have a bunch of games for them so it's not like there's any big need for it either, in fact I'd really like a new video game that has a story and stuff, maybe like tag force or some of those gba/ds ones but with the modern game instead of retracing an old format
@@TheKnightOfBuquicious I can't tell you how many times people have told me this with pokemon and I how many times I had to repeat the same things. Modern pokemon is not perfect but the really the main issues are regular pokemon being weak for no reason and some broken archetypes like fusion strike. That's it and maybe the 2x weaknesses. Every other complaint I'd have comes down to gameplay prefernce like how they merged bodies and powers to abilities and not necessarily having to do with the balance of the game. HP doesn't matter as they're just numbers. The important thing is for the rest of the cards in the era to be in the same league. That's the difference and this is why gen 3 was so good pokemon ex were stronger than regular pokemon but not dimensions apart like now. I don't agree with how you think new cards would flop if they weren't broken in yugioh and like I've said numerous formats pre arc v prove that. Bumps like dragon ruler format existed but by today you can build decks that spam 50 special summons a turn with all sorts of engines. The reality is yugioh's non rotation format isn't even reaching its potential when 90% of the old cards are irrelevant and random broken cards like Cyber Stein just find themselves in new FTK decks with modern cards. This is all Konami's terrible handling and they proved it by changing the pendulum rules in the Link era and even chaning the Link rules later on too. They've made mistakes they couldn't go back from. As much as I'd love something a like a new tag force I'm doubtful they'd so something like that again, I mean they did Legacy of the Duelist but that was pre Master Duel. Alternate modes in master duel is PARAMOUNT for someone like me and many players feel the same otherwise march 2010 wouldn't be a thing now. They don't trust their modern game though once again, as they make no money if people flock on those modes using older cards. Giving the option while still having the modern game would show confidence in the current yugioh but they don't do that. They also spit out a set every month sometimes even more than one to the point that the last 3 legendary duelist sets sell for 35 euros a box now.
1) Ban Every single "Pot of" card, make "Pot of Greed" a limited card
2) Ban ALL 1 card starters
3) Play YGO Omega
Boom. Yu-Gi-Oh is fixed now
