I really enjoy watching this because silicone is not something I’m educated on and some reason it gives me anxiety probably because I’ve gotta spent hard earned money in it. Just really enjoyed watching this and seeing somebody who knew what they were doing create an amazing aquarium. Thank you so much for that!
hey mate, just had a quick question. How thick would you recommend the glass to be and will my frogs eat small fish like tetras if I had a layout like yours. pls get back🙏
Any reason you didn’t go for the clay balls for the drainage layer? What made you choose the rocks? The clay balls will absorb. This came out amazing!!! Great build!
Love it! I’ve just put together my first frog terrarium and your vids have been so helpful after acquiring a couple of tree frogs after their once caring owner gone down the rabbit hole of addiction and has become super neglectful of everything and everyone. I just hope we’re getting it right to keep the frogs happy and content.
DO NOT add your fish after 1 week unless you do an in-fish cycle. Even using products to boost the cycle it still takes a minimum of 4 weeks but besides that very good video!
I mean i work at an aquarium and we have always added a few fish after the first week without issues, leaving the aquarium to long without fish waste means whatever bacteria you have cultivated will die due to no fish waste to feed on.
@@reptiplantworks2294 that’s why you either put food in the tank to break down or dose ammonia until the tank is fully cycled. No one in the fish keeping hobby will tell you a tank can cycle in 1 week. I didn’t point it out to argue, I mentioned it as I’m coming over from fish keeping to a hybrid with frogs. Also I have a degree in marine biology so I also know what I’m talking about :)
@@reptiplantworks2294 Neither am I, if my response came off that way then I apologise. My point is a cycled tank is when the beneficial bacteria can convert the ammonia and nitrites to nitrates quick enough to the point it cannot impact the fish. 1 week is not enough time to build up an established colony that can do that. So yes the fish survive but they don’t thrive. What you do is a fish-in cycle, but a fish-less cycle is much better for the fish
WOW, YOU SURE WENT TO AN AWFUL LOT OF TROUBLE TO SET UP YOUR FROG TANK. WHAT LUCKY FROGS. IM AFRAID ITS TOO MUCH FOR ME TO TAKE IN AND DO. IM AN ELDERLY PERSON HERE ON MY OWN. I LL HAVE TO MAKE DO WITH MY FROGS AN EASIER WAY, A WAY I FIND EASY TO DO FOR MYSELF.

This is amazing for us super beginners who have no idea what we’re doing.
The glass with background looks really nice.
i wish frogs were the size of dogs

Exactly what I was looking for

So glad you shared this! It’s amazing and I’ll definitely going to be taking some ideas and incorporating it into my new tank build

That’s sad that their previous owner is battling with addiction. Glad you were able to get the frogs and care for them!
Did you add any isopods, springtales, or millipedes to keep soil healthy? Or is it un needed
where’d you get the pump
Did you build this inside of a tank? Or was it some sort of reptile enclosure?
It is an enclosure he mentions it at the start I think

Im not tryna argue im just telling you that's how it's been done at the different aquariums I've worked at and I've personally not has issues
