    Hello. I have a few questions. With their initial enclosure can you have it "adult size" and then clutter it up or is that not recommended? If you do provide UVB would it be harmful for them? Is a diet of mice okay as well or can you also feed smaller rats for variety?

    • @reptiplantworks2294
      @reptiplantworks2294 20 днів тому

      @luyandalamula9009 usually I've found with hatchlings in large enclosures tend to be very reclusive and fearful even if it's cluttered they hide most of the time and can be difficult with feeding versus hatchlings I've kept in tubs quickly become habituated to people and approach me for food as soon as I open the tub, I personally would wait till they are minimum 40cm ish before keeping in a display enclosure. Regarding UVB it's perfectly fine to use on them if you want to, and you can feed smaller rats instead of mice if you want to as long as it's appropriately sized.

    Thanks so much for the v informative video. My homalomena is struggling this summer :( I live in no humidity, very hot temperature indoor (over 30degrees) and it is my first summer with it. I know its lacking water because the leaves are dramatically dropping, and now I am finding myself watering everyday. How would I know if I am overwatering? Do you recommend cutting the dropping leaves if they are not going back up?

    • @reptiplantworks2294
      @reptiplantworks2294 Місяць тому

      @albamiga6509 no if you are needing to water every day ide look at repotting, it sounds like your soil isn't retaining any water or the plant has out grown the pot and there's more roots than soil, either way your soil should hold onto water for a few days, ide repott with new soil and go up one pot size.

    hi i just watched your umbrella plant vid from 3 years ago and have a question . My umbrella plant seems to be drooping in my lizards tank . the stems are like leaning and some of the tips of leaves are crispy brown what would be the issue with that as i have 2 spot light leds on there as well as a biodude light bar too

    • @reptiplantworks2294
      @reptiplantworks2294 Місяць тому

      It's honestly hard to say exactly as there are alot of factors to consider but the first thing ide look into is what spectrum your lights are putting out, most plants like a spectrum between 6500k to 7500k , because you have a few lights ide check the spectrum they are each producing isn't to high as this can burn the leaves and cause the plant to recede from the light, if your lights spectrum is fine though ide check the soil make sure it has a period where it almost fully dries out before watering again if it's wet constantly you might have root rot. I will say that sometimes umbrellas can grow kinda lop sided, I've got two I a green tree python enclosure and one insists on leaning forward for some reason. Anyways sorry for the long reply lol hope this helps.

      @veronicacarvajal4138 need oil can be harmful in high concentration to certain plants I've found some plants with thinner leaves especially velvety leaves are more sensitive to it, I use white oil as my pest treatment instead it's a petroleum jelly spray it's pretty safe majority of plants.

    • @reptiplantworks2294
      @reptiplantworks2294 Місяць тому

      It's hard to diagnose exactly but generally leaf spots and yellowing leave is due to over watering, you want to water only when the soil is almost dry and have the plant in a well draining soil so it's not to wet to long, other than that it might be not getting enough light and therefore can't sustain as many leaves.

    The hilarious thing is, my dad's asparagus fern, who was dying a slow death at our old house, recovered when we kinda just left it out in the yard *in the direct sun* lol. We've then since moved it into the south facing sitting room that has a giant magnolia tree in front and is crowded by a *very* large number of other house plants. It's growing so much we've been cutting it back to no avail... another shoot just starts growing. So if anyone wants to know where to keep an asparagus fern, the best place is apparently a south facing window with a tree in front and among many many other plants. Seriously though, the plant is a meter tall and a meter wide...help

    Hello, I realize this video is a bit old. I’m hoping to get some help with my Dracaena. It grew to big for its pot was leaning and fell over. I repotted in a bit larger pot, but used straight indoor plant potting mix. The soil was extremely wet so I didn’t water it. That was about 3 months ago. I’ve been reaching as far as I can into the dirt and it does seem to be a lot dryer now. I’ve noticed the leaves are starting to get “ruffley” looking and the green seems to be fading in spots on some. I was thinking about watering but just am not sure. It’s about 5 ft tall. I wonder should I water her or repot. I really hope I can save her. Thank you for your time.

    • @reptiplantworks2294
      @reptiplantworks2294 2 місяці тому

      Provided the leaves aren't turning yellow but are just fading in colour or if the leaves are curling or getting crispy at the edges it most likely needs a water, if you want to be 100% certain ide recommended using a moisture prob in the soil, but if it feels pretty dry watering should be ok and probably needed.

      Yes if they are fed to large food or aren't hydrated enough they can prolapse, they aren't as easy to find as a children's pythons, also where I live in NSW you need a R2 licence to keep them so beginners can't buy them, however im not sure on the laws in other stated.
