Izzy doesn't get enough credit for being the best songwriter in GnR and was a great companion to Slash's playing. The marriage of their guitars worked seamlessly and created the unique sound of the band. He has a great singing voice and a cool vibe to his style, he's definitely more authentic then Axl and probably the most in the band. Hope he's doing well and he should be getting more praise then he does ✌🏽❤
If Izzy was the wall and Slash was the paint, Adler was the foundation the whole damn house was built on. Sorum may be a better drummer on paper, but he didn't have Adler's groove, which was a huge part of the Guns sound. Steven was a criminally underrated drummer.
He is truly an amazing songwriter and that is why appetite is so damn good. Guns n' roses should say okay you are our Brian Wilson. You help write songs for the albums and get paid royalties while steering clear of the pressure from touring!
If you listen to Appetite with the balance panned to the left speaker - you’ll hear Izzy’s guitar parts & understand how integral his playing was to the GnR sound. He also played the guitar solo on “Think About You”, and the first half of the solo on “Nightrain.”
The wall the paint is on…definitely GNR died when Izzy left No decent music since then It was really his band Now enjoying life & collecting royalties Smart
My favorite part of this was him uploading a vid of himself playing: Stuck in th middle with you! (& th little msg behind it!)🤣 That's freakin hilarious! 👍👍
It's the combination of both Izzy & Axl together. Neither of them is that great without the other. GN'R are the perfect example of a whole that's greater than the sum of it's parts.
Saw GNR twice with him in the early 90s. After he was gone the band was never the same again. Izzy and Adler, alongside Duff, were the foundation were Axl and Slash could lay their solos and vocals. Izzy with his very precise composition style and sense of rhythm. Adler with his loose, but groovy, way of playing drums. Nobody that came after these two replaced then really well. Note even Matt Sorum (an excelent drummer btw).
GNR let the soul of the band just walk away but they were all going through some shit that clouded all decisions. Slash was high, Duff was high, Axl was dealing with psychological stuff and his own ego. In that way, it would have been impossible for them to say, “hey, let’s keep it together here and figure this out for the future of GNR”. But yeah, I feel like it died with him leaving. Can’t go back now
izzy knew when he had enough money and when he wasn't having fun anymore and stepped away. he was there for the best years of GNR. i'd have done the same thing.
We saw Izzy do a few songs with GNR prior the Duff and Slashing joining. Izzy didn't join the world tour for the carve up of the revenue wasn't equally balanced. And yes without him they wouldn't have a bunch of cool songs. So az this vid states Izzy was a major foundation of GNR. I also learned things like the type of guitar Izzy used played a part giving GNR their unique sound. Izzy deserves a bit of... but who knows if he wants it...

He was the only dude in that band I paid attention to. I saw them on MTV when Welcome to the Jungle came out. I told my friends, you have to see this band. They're awful. Little did I know the most awful thing I had ever heard would get more successful. This sucked when it came to bands like King's X. Who I thought each member had 10x the talent of these jokers in this band, but couldn't get a break. This is when i knew the Music Industry was fucked. But Izzy? I thought he was the guy in that band that had actual talent. I still do.
Unfortunately, you're not the ruler of the world like you think you are in your head. You can tell how awful Guns 'n' Roses are, cuz no one wants to stay in the band. @@gabagool_ovahere

When Izzy left , the spark was out of GNR as we know it
You are right.the other 3. Making loot off the classic songs he wrote
.
Mostly Axl. Duff and Slash when back on their knees in the end to sign a contract with Axl. How low can you go @@user-nz5jw2yn6c
I agree. Saw GnR twice with him in the early 90s. After he was gone the band was never the same agajn.
@@user-nz5jw2yn6c Well, he does have about $50 million in songwriter royalties.
Ladies and gentlemen the Heart & Soul of Rock N’ Roll, Mr. Izzy Stradlin!
Izzy has always been too good for the G n R drama. Fantastic rhythm player and musician.
Agreed.
Wasn't he also like the main songwriter as well?

He and Steven are what made Appetite a real game changer.
Nobody sounded like Steven. Matt Sorum just could never replicate that sound and feel Steven had. Not to mention the cowbell
@@dathorndike4908I prefer Matt Sorum over Steven Adler.

He doesn’t need the money, and he’s set for life with royalties. Great for him.
Deserves every dime & more
Deep down, the 3/5ths of GNR now know how important Izzy is to them. They'll never say it, but they know.
If you listen to Appetite with the balance panned to the left speaker - you’ll hear Izzy’s guitar parts & understand how integral his playing was to the GnR sound.
He also played the guitar solo on “Think About You”, and the first half of the solo on “Nightrain.”
I am better.
Out ta get me riff is insane, also You Could Be Mine

GNR died when Izzy left
No decent music since then
It was really his band

Smart
Nope. When Adler left
@@leemehan Adler was the beginning of the end
Izzy was the heart of GNR.
Izzy could always sing

Esp since he did it outside the rehearsal studio he went to jam with GnR at, they were inside, and he had just walked out and did it.
Its the beginning of the end for GnR when Izzy left.
If you read the song credits on their albums, he wrote more songs than all the other members combined.
He and axl. Dont forget that, despite axls image... Hes such a critical acclaim songwriter
Great great song writer …He is actually better than Axl.
It's the combination of both Izzy & Axl together. Neither of them is that great without the other.
GN'R are the perfect example of a whole that's greater than the sum of it's parts.
‘Appetite For Destruction’ is the ONLY True GNR album.
Real.
When he and Adler disappeared from GN'R, that was the end of the greatest rock band since The Beatles.
Without Adler and Izzy , there is no GNR period ..!
What I would pay to see a GnR show with Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy and Matt Sorum.
I have always loved Izzy, super talented guy, and well, super gorgeous.
Good for him. So happy he found his peace
it's so Izzy
SO FUCKIN IZZY
Izzy was always reminiscent of Keith Richards. I wonder what songs they would write together.....
this video explains everything, now i understand why gnr never have new material after izzy's departure..
the photo of izzy skating in a pool is the sickest
Izzy was as important to GnR as Jonny was to the Ramones or Malcolm to ACDC.
People can cover it but nobody will replace them

największe marzenie żeby kiedy cała piątka jedynych prawdziwych członków gns się połączyła i znowu coś stworzyła

The only thing I hate worse than Izzy leaving GnR is all these AI-voiced videos that just recycle material from other videos. Do better.

Once he quit the band was over.
You right. Izzy gave Slash and Axel some reason to show how good they were. After that we just heard small pieces of the hole thing.

He may think 💭 about it at some stage given that the guys are a lot older and mature now! Never say never as Sean Connery once said .
The Bob Dylan of GNR
Really hate fake robot voice
Izzy, Ozzy and Iggy should team up .
Does someone know to help me?? My enquiry is... does Izzy gets any money when GNR play his songs live????😮
IMHO . . Guns and Roses actually no 1 the Greatest Metal band all time, but Universe didnt allow it,
Because Izzy leave the band...
Why doesn’t he play anymore?
He could make a home made video ?
