After getting into the service menu, the FIRST thing I did was copy all my factory settings in an Excel spreadsheet saved in my anytone folder. Here is the procedure to enter the SM: PRESS/HOLD MENU AND MODE BUTTONS AND POWER UP RADIO, then release MENU AND MODE BUTTONS.... THEN QUICKLY PRESS - one at a time: MODE DW RB NB SCAN MEM AND EMG.. You will see "FM" - factory menu and remember the first three "ch" are null-blank the first good data set will be in ch 4 - turn the ch selector to ch 4 then JUST KEY MIC to see good data... Let me know how this works for you. WRITE DOWN YOUR NUMBERS. After switching to a ch to see the values, a mic press will show the number value then while mic keyed, turning the ch knob will change the value - up/dn.... "Maybe a good one to PIN"... ;-)

Somebody was saying in the comments about going into a radio's service menu. I do not recommend it if you do not have the proper equipment.

Hi: Mr. Mower Junkie. I have a question for you buddy. I recently bought 2 NOS bottom A99 sections from a electronics discount store that sells stuff from stores gone out of business. There is no middle or top sections. I have a broken Imax that I took the chromed harware off the middle & top sections from. I wanted to ask if you think I can use two 6' sections of PVC pipe, one the size of the original middle A99 section that I can attach the OEM chromed parts from the Imax & then a smaller one to fit inside of that middle section to make a new top section, then run copper wire inside to complete a hybrid A99. Do you think the PVC pipe is strong enough to take the winds & winter conditons. I live in Ontario, Canada. Any thoughts or suggestions would eb greatly appreciated. Take care & 73's from 492 Toronto.
