After getting into the service menu, the FIRST thing I did was copy all my factory settings in an Excel spreadsheet saved in my anytone folder. Here is the procedure to enter the SM:
PRESS/HOLD MENU AND MODE BUTTONS AND POWER UP RADIO, then release MENU AND MODE BUTTONS.... THEN QUICKLY PRESS - one at a time:
    MODE
    DW
    RB
    NB
    SCAN
    MEM AND
    EMG..
You will see "FM" - factory menu and remember the first three "ch" are null-blank the first good data set will be in ch 4 - turn the ch selector to ch 4 then JUST KEY MIC to see good data... Let me know how this works for you. WRITE DOWN YOUR NUMBERS. After switching to a ch to see the values, a mic press will show the number value then while mic keyed, turning the ch knob will change the value - up/dn.... "Maybe a good one to PIN"... ;-)

@@MowerJunkie Although the individual setting names will need to be "decoded" or known what they represent, most are self explanatory and more info can be learned by the ole internet search... I would never go into a radios service menu if you don't have a oscilloscope spectrum analyzer tone generator frequency counter and a good watt meter like a lp100a or a bird plus a dummy load .Good video. Somebody was saying in the comments about going into a radio's service menu. I do not recommend it if you do not have the proper equipment.

It would be nice if, in the software, they were able to update the QT60 to be able to change the frequencies in the weather memories to receive the VHF amateur band or public safety frequencies.

I couldn't be happier with my qt60 I bought from Scott's radios llc I had Michael Do the alignment before he sent it out I get better audio reports with it than I do with my Yaesu. FT891 that cost almost 700. If anyone is looking for a qt60 I highly recommend Scott's radios LLC.

Hi: Mr. Mower Junkie. I have a question for you buddy. I recently bought 2 NOS bottom A99 sections from a electronics discount store that sells stuff from stores gone out of business. There is no middle or top sections. I have a broken Imax that I took the chromed harware off the middle & top sections from. I wanted to ask if you think I can use two 6' sections of PVC pipe, one the size of the original middle A99 section that I can attach the OEM chromed parts from the Imax & then a smaller one to fit inside of that middle section to make a new top section, then run copper wire inside to complete a hybrid A99. Do you think the PVC pipe is strong enough to take the winds & winter conditons. I live in Ontario, Canada. Any thoughts or suggestions would eb greatly appreciated. Take care & 73's from 492 Toronto.

Hello again M. J. Got The software and the driver into my Windows 7 system. Everytime I hit READ FROM THE RADIO, I get the message CANNOT OPEN COMMUNICATION PORT. I've tried every video on UA-cam on how to get it working, but no luck. What am I doing wrong? I'm using Google Chrome on my computer. Would that have anything to do with it? Do I set the program and the driver with the cable attached or not. Does the radio have to be on or off? Sorry to be such a dumb ass senior citizen. Hope you can help and can put up with such an ill informed old man. Is there any way I can get my e-mail address off to you? It might be better than trying to squeeze everything in on a site like this. UA-cam sort of frowns on giving out e-mail addresses. Thanks, Fred ( KC3SOB )

with the program open, at the top go to "setup" choose "communication port" then click the drop-down box, and choose another port. Then try to read from the radio again. I had to do this to make one of my computers work with the program.

My first reply to this seems to have been deleted. Let me try again. When I do as you said, the communication port box drops down, but there is nothing in it but a light blue color. When I click on it another box drops down under the first box and both boxes turn white in color and are blank, No numbers. Maybe I should just give up. All I wanted to do is put my name on the read-out where the 5555N appears. Thanks for trying, but I guess I'll leave the read-out as is from the factory. Fred ( KC3SOB )
