Yea I "swiped" your handle. Been on the radio 25 years and never heard a single person from Cali go by Rooster, so you must be some sort of mud duck talking on a Little Wil and cobra 19wxst 🤣.
Sorry Rooster, I saw you responded to my question. I found where you said 14.6v. Once I heard you say it in the video I deleted the comment. I didn't know you responded until I got a popup 10:12 -> 14.6
anybody notice that you cant get a higher signal than 9 F units.. Even if i key up my other base the neddle doesnt go higher than 9.. ive been lookin on youtube for others to see and have yet to see one where someone breaks 9 f units...
@@Rooster_Radio OK. I'm leaning towards one of these. Want a SSB unit at a reasonable price that performs well out the box EDIT: ordered one today. Was put off the prez lincoln for a couple of reasons and cost delta alone is a big factor, then then SSB quality and reported receive issues, though can be resolved, shouldnt need to be at the price point. So its the Anytone for me.
Odd question I know. I finally was hooking up my new radio and I turned it on just to make sure it powered up. It gave the beep when turned on and I found to kill that in the menu with no problem but I noticed something that isnt normal to me when i opened the squelch i heard no noise coming out from the speaker Is that normal for this radio ??????
When you opened the squelch? Well if you turn it wide open most radios have no noise. If you turn it all the way down the ASQ kicks in which is like an additional noise blanker , that aside these radios do have a very quiet receiver. Do you like white noise and static?
IF you have height clearance your best bet is the good ole 1/4 wave 102 inch SS whip. REMEMBER, the total 1/4 wavelength for CH 20 - mid-band - is 108.5 inches. You WILL need to use a six inch spring, or two 3.3 inch springs, OR a spacer, or combination of both to hit that magic 108.5 inch length/height. Get the length correct and it'll be much easier to tune. Most people use only one spring and if is not a six inch spring, your not going to have the easiest time tuning for the lowest SWR....
They perform just like the one you see in the video. That's as peaked as they get without doing a final upgrade, average power mod, and regulator upgrade
It doesn't show forward power on the watt meter. Yes you can be heard over the air "modulating" but for a watt meter reading it's just a dead output. I knew an FM guru would correct me on the technical aspect. 🙂
Yes, you can tie the tx and rx clarifier. It's in your menu. Plus, you can adjust the khz to what ever you want. Mine slides to 5 khz, both Rx and Tx, up 5 and down 5 from what your freq shows. 73s
@Rooster_Radio furreal? My favorite was galaxy 99 I have 2 both need repair. Also have cobra 148 and others president ax144 all need help and more if you know good tech. I've been ripped to many times to mention by scammers.

If you want more than 6 memories, all these Anytone radios can have 40 plus memories
Some say it’s a fault, I say it’s great for us sidebanders!
Good video rooster, just put a anytone smart in my pickup, I like it but wish I would have got this.
Great video, thanks
that plug is an RJ45
do you have the anytone5555n11 for sale at this time thank you
I would like to use this for a 10 meter mobile radio. I'd like to see how the VFO mode works.
They allready have adapter for it to 4 pin cobra wiring.
Swiped my handle,I've been Rooster 🐓 here in the high desert of so CA since 1992 !!!!!!

There’s a reason you use the squelch on fm.

They improve heat sync power cord, and then they SCREWUP mic plug.
I call it 5555 Nancy
So are these your numbers after your tune or out of the box ?
There is a adapter to change it to 4 pin .
Are those power numbers you shown out of the box or tuned ??
Wondering the same but I believe are out of the box . Mr. Rooster specify on his web store "ready to go" I guess is with a conversion and tuned...
So this looks to be a very good SSB radio option, for a mobile type. Lincoln 2plus or this!?
I like these better

Are this radios get mod opening them up? or how you open or clean modulation?

@@Rooster_Radio ah ok I am used to hearing noise like I do my dual band when I open the squelch / not turned up
about to purchase one and i run them in my farm pickup trucks for our grain trucks, what kind of antenna system would you recommend with this radio?
6-7ft skip shooter or any of the popular coil antennas

Rooster, Are this ""ready to go"" (peak and tuned plus CB tx)? thanks
They perform just like the one you see in the video. That's as peaked as they get without doing a final upgrade, average power mod, and regulator upgrade
FM modulates that's why they call it frequency modulation
It doesn't show forward power on the watt meter. Yes you can be heard over the air "modulating" but for a watt meter reading it's just a dead output.
I knew an FM guru would correct me on the technical aspect. 🙂
It's all good my brother just poking you in the ribs.😆
Will this be alright with a Wilson 2000 antenna?
yes
Does the clarifier track both tx and rx and if so how much?
Not unless you modify it too, and there's actually no need unless you like talking to people that are off frequency
Yes, you can tie the tx and rx clarifier. It's in your menu. Plus, you can adjust the khz to what ever you want. Mine slides to 5 khz, both Rx and Tx, up 5 and down 5 from what your freq shows. 73s
PS, the slider shows up at the bottom of the meter, when you twist the clarifier, so you know how far off freq is at a glance.
I need one. Just texted you LoL
Why not just buy a 959??????????
Why not just buy a cobra 19???????

Does it have talkback???
yes
