@@nicholasstewart7585 are you trying to pull the driveshaft?

The driveshaft is already out. I can't press the u-joint out far enough that the cap comes off. The caps on the other side are gitting the yoke and I can't go any farther.

@Wrenchesandrods the first gen Can Am UTVs don't have clips, I double checked the manual. Think I'm gonna bust out the cutting wheel

@nicholasstewart7585 lol! If you can get the caps out just a little bit you might be able to get a hold of it with a pair of vice grips

I will use a board or piece of plywood on that wear ring part. Must appreciated for the video.
As for CanAms I bought my first UTV/ATV just this year. A 2013 CanAm Commander 1000 LTD with just 811 miles. All the wheel bearings are worn out as are the tie-rod ends. Unbelievable. Bought from a friend who bought it used from a dealer. He never really used it that much and didn't do any work himself. So whoever bought it new must have run the dogs&#t out of it. The high/low gear lugs slip and the steering wheel support strut also are trash. Not to mention the spark arrestor was plugged up. But wait their's more!! The lower radiator hose was run over the shock tower which kinked it so it ran hot until I fixed it. Now my intention for this is just running around the farm, low rpm stuff. So once I get all of this stuff done it's going to be a great machine but dang it's turning into a project and the parts are expensive. I figure if I'm going to the trouble of changing out trash wheel bearings with this few of miles then might as well buy new ball joints, etc. while I have it apart. The bad wheel bearings just tick me off. I hope I bought good units. Did not buy cheap ones but instead bought them with 3-year warranty. Well see if that means anything.

Sounds like you are doing right by the old machine! Thank you for the great comment! I hope your project goes well!
