Man, these videos have really helped me do the maintenance by myself. I've done the oil and filter change, transmission oil change, thermostat replacement, and radiator coolant change. Now to do the rear differential fluid change. Thanks for all the help and tips! These videos are still relevant ;-)
hell yeah that'd be nice. Its a long way from making any real money, but I figure by the end of the 1000 beer challenge it might be making something? We'll see. but thanks for the watching and for taking the time to leave these words of encouragement in the comments. More vids coming out soon. Cheers
great video suggestion, will certainly add it to the list for the next time I pick one of these machines up. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a good video suggestion in the comments. Cheers
haha that's awesome It never occurred to me that they would be entertaining just to watch, but really glad it turned out that way. I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave this feedback in the comments, its very encouraging to make more vids. Cheers
I love my Commander and I'm glad I found your channel. Dealer maintenance is too expensive. I wish I found this a year ago! I'm going to mention your channel next time I put out a video.
Commanders are one of my favorite units as well, x2 on dealer maintenance prices, especially when we put on the miles like we do. And thanks looks like just epic riding up where ya'll are at. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
Great job on the Commander Series ! Two other Regular AND much needed PMs are Greasing Wheel Bearings & Greasing the One-way bearing on the clutch as well as cleaning up the clutch surfaces. That would also cover belt changes. Really would love to see you do videos on these. Others I have watch on here have no comparison to your great style and you give such great info like Torque Specs which others leave out. I hesitate to mention, Cleaning the speed sensor. But that would be cool also. Again, GREAT JOB !
Thank you, those are some great suggestions, and I will definitely add them to the list of videos we want to get made. Unfortunately it might be a bit as we are sold out of commanders, but as soon as we get one in you can bet I'll be adding to the commander maintenance series. Thanks for the kind words, for watching the video, and for taking the time to leave video suggestions in the comments. Cheers
no problem at all, glad it was helpful for you. sorry for the late response and thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, hope it went smooth. cheers
well I'm glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful, and agreed on it being a 2 beer job. Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
I’ve got a 2011 and my set up is a little different. 7mm for fill plug but the drain plug was a flush 3/16 Allen socket right below the left axel. Access from same side whole for axel as fill plug. Very small and hard to find but it’s there. After going underneath and pulling skid plate off for no reason I finally found it. Thanks
That's interesting, I really appreciate you taking the time to share a detailed description as I'm sure someone with your year model will see this and find it very helpful. Thanks for watching and especially for taking the time to share valuable info on how this procedure works on previous year models. Cheers
roger that, appreciate the kind words. I do have a couple vids on a maverick max 4 seater you might find helpful. Oil Change: ua-cam.com/video/k4QpkS_KT1I/v-deo.html Reset Procedure: ua-cam.com/video/CFWutWwkZtM/v-deo.html Grease: ua-cam.com/video/y7fFxKb77Oo/v-deo.html Will add the gearbox and diffs for a four seater the list of vids to make next time I get one. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave good video suggestions in the comments. Cheers
glad to hear it, measuring weekend maintenance job time in beers seemed to be the only appropriate unit of measure to me, appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave this comment. Cheers
Found this channel and Jesus christ its gonna save me over a thousand $ instead of taking it to the local power sports dealer here minimum was $1200 what a rip off.
hell yeah, I love reading comments like this, its exactly why I make these videos. Be sure to get a manual or a checklist from the dealer are there are a lot of components to a 100 hour service I haven't gotten videoed yet, but will keep adding them as I get time. Really appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave this comment. Cheers
That's a great idea. I'll definitely add it to my list of videos to make. I already made one for outlander/renegades, but can't remember exactly how different it is on commander? ua-cam.com/video/a-DYnTNhBMU/v-deo.html Either way, thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a video suggestion. Cheers.
I have a question. I bought a Chinese Hisen 500. I changed the oil with no problem, but I don't understand some things about the differential fluid change. So, is it just a small amount that goes in the front and rear? Would the 80/140 be ok for both the front and rear?
I haven't had one of those machines so honestly I'm not familiar with the maintenance procedures on them. I definitely would suggest finding trying to find a service manual for that specific machine and sticking the manufactures guidelines on oil types and amounts. Hope this helps and thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a question in the comments. Cheers
I'd check out page 90 in the operators guide as it starts by showing the little reservoir to add it, but really check out the section after that where it shows step by step how to bleed the air out of the system, I've also found a product called engine ice helps these machines run cooler, but getting that air out of the system would definitely be priority 1. Next time I drain a system I will try and remember to make a video on that procedure as I'm sure its a common issue. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave an interesting question in the comments. Cheers
the bike in the video was a 2015, I can't say for certain but I if I remember correctly it would be similar on your 2012, but maybe the drain plug is further down and sort of hidden by the axle? should see both fill and drain plugs on drivers side of diff housing behind and below where the axle meets the diff. I know on some of the atv's its directly on the bottom so maybe check from beneath the machine as well because I cant remember for certain where it was on that year model. Hope this helps and sorry for the late response. good luck with your job and thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. cheers
Hi did you ever find the drain plug? I'm having the same problem on my 2012 1000 can't find the drain plug for the life of me I even removed the rear skid plate .I'm not seeing it.
I definitely prefer mobile 1 and xps am curious what makes you think royal purple doesn't meet req's? in the description on amazon it says "that specify use of an API GL-5 or GL-4 fluid." Certainly open to the possibility that I'm misinterpreting either the manual or their description of fluid as I'm no expert on these fluids what so ever. Either way I appreciate you watching and taking the time to share your thoughts/experience/ knowledge in the comments. Cheers
Sounds like a plan, if its a new bottle or has marks on the side, let us know how much your rear diff takes before it spills, I'm curious. Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers.
haha she is super lucky, just probably not in that department haha. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave an inappropriate comment haha, cheers

I went to change mine, but it was same colour as new oil so it must be fine, right? It’s only in about 6000km.
A brake job video on a Commander would be awesome lol

@@EscapePowerSports on the 2012 it is right below the fill plug on the side a little more towards the center.
