these are the kind of comments I love reading, that's exactly what the goal for these videos are. Really glad it went smooth for you and you were able to save some cash. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share your experience in the comments. Cheers
thank you, I always try to include anything you might want to know on the topic and keep the things you don't to a minimum, and thanks me too a 1000 beers worth of how-to's seems like a goal worth shooting for. Thank you for watching, and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
glad you enjoyed it, and I'm unaware of a superior method to track maintenance job time. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
No problem, I figure if I'm going to be doing these jobs and learning about these machines anyway, can't hurt to share what I learn along the way. Thanks for watching and commenting, Cheers.
haha thank you, I try and make these how-to vids as watchable as I can while still providing the information for the job, sorry I'm a few days late with a reply and thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. cheers.
Your advice and step by step tutorials are awesome. The hex head sockets were key! I would have tried to be cheap and just use the hex wrenches I had. One thing I would add is that if you don't have a tube that fits inside the fill cavity, buy a flexible funnel from an auto parts store (I got mine from Advanced Auto). The tip of the funnel is tapered and fits inside the cavity nicely (insert innuendo humor here) and also has measuring ticks on the side of the funnel to measure with. Great video, thanks for making these it's been a lifesaver and much better than just the maintenance manual.
appreciate that, and yes I remember when I first started using the hex sockets and thinking this is a game changer. Something else I've learned since on small bolts with hex heads is to use a punch (Either much larger or smaller than the size hex so it doesn't damage or strip the part you stick hex into) and give the bolt a few whacks with punch and hammer. It seems to somehow jar the threads so they are looser and easier to remove without stripping. And great advice on that funnel I'll have to look into that. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share some advice in the comments. Cheers
usually the rear plug is on the bottom and the front drain plug is on the passenger side below the cv axle. Helps to find them with a clean machine and lots of pressure washing. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a question in the comments. Cheers
Hey sir, I’m trying to screw the fill plug back in. Once I get it snug, the copper ring is still loose. I don’t want to overtighten but don’t know what is keeping it from tightening snug. Any thoughts?
Hi yes a "torx" or torque head socket or bolt is the star pattern while as the allen head socket or bolt is a hexagon instead of the star in the case of these bolts we need the allen hexagon shape and not the torx "star" shape. Hope this made some sense or helps on the distinction between the two. Thanks for watching and asking a good question in the comments. Cheers
hmm I sold the bike, but I'd take a wild guess and say 1/4" tubing assuming o.d. is 1/4" would be safe? its been a while and I sold the bike sorry I'm not certain or much help with this one. Good luck with fluid change, and appreciate you taking the time to leave a good question in the comments. Cheers
will definitely add that job to our list of videos to make, and will definitely do it next time I pick up a commander or maverick. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a video suggestion in the comments, really helps me out. Cheers
after some digging online it looks like the part number for the drain plug is p/n:705500894 I wouldn't be surprised if they were both the same plug as they are both 5mm allen bolts, I would just call your local dealer to be safe though. Hope this helps, and I appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
I do not right now, but that is definitely on the list for the next time we get a commander around here. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a great video suggestion in the comments. Cheers
sorry i'm confused, did they mean non serviceable as in can't be repaired? I hope the warranty covered a new one, thanks for watching and looking forward to hearing more about your experience when a front diff goes, cheers

good morning I have a commander 1000xt 2013 and I try to find where are located the drain plug at rear and front differential...... thanks
usually the rear plug is on the bottom and the front drain plug is on the passenger side below the cv axle. Helps to find them with a clean machine and lots of pressure washing. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a question in the comments. Cheers
My commander did not have a rubber o-ring on the drain bolt. It was just a 5 mm bolt. What's the deal with that
Hey sir, I’m trying to screw the fill plug back in. Once I get it snug, the copper ring is still loose. I don’t want to overtighten but don’t know what is keeping it from tightening snug. Any thoughts?
hmm I'd carefully inspect the threads on both the diff and the plug to make sure they look good. good luck and let us know how it goes. cheers
Hi Is there a difference between using torque head socket and Allen head socket kind of confused between the two of them

What size tube fits inlet? Outside diameter?
hmm I sold the bike, but I'd take a wild guess and say 1/4" tubing assuming o.d. is 1/4" would be safe? its been a while and I sold the bike sorry I'm not certain or much help with this one. make a video, how to change coolant please
will definitely add that job to our list of videos to make, and will definitely do it next time I pick up a commander or maverick. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a video suggestion in the comments, really helps me out. Cheers
What is part number for the front differential drain plug? Is it the same as the rear?
after some digging online it looks like the part number for the drain plug is p/n:705500894 I wouldn't be surprised if they were both the same plug as they are both 5mm allen bolts, I would just call your local dealer to be safe though. Do u have a belt change video
I do not right now, but that is definitely on the list for the next time we get a commander around here. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a great video suggestion in the comments. Cheers
Buddy of mine had his diff go out and the shop told him that the front diff is a non serviceable part..🤦 then they warranty kicked in
sorry i'm confused, did they mean non serviceable as in can't be repaired? I hope the warranty covered a new one, thanks for watching and looking forward to hearing more about your experience when a front diff goes, cheers
You need to make note that front diff filling plug to place a rag underneath the it. If not and you drop the plug or the socket is a b**** to get out
very good tip, appreciate you taking the time to share good info in the comments, which adds value to all the viewers who see this. Cheers
9 in is always better than 6
