    I couldn’t get the hang of chucking until this video; even your previous one from the 30 day uke challenge didn’t work for me. But in this video you angled your body so that the camera could show your technique. And it worked! Now I just need to practise, practise, practise.

    From one teacher to another, let me just say you are awesome at breaking the technique down! I have tried many others' video tutorials for chucking and have never been able to make it work so I "cheat" by using a slap on the strings when I should be chucking. The way you do it, and the fact that you can chunk your material knowledge into usable information for students, sets you apart from many other teachers. Thank you for your videos! Well done! ♥️

    The best thing I learned today was about how to slow the video down! What a great tip! By slowing down the video I could really practice the strumming pattern. WOW! WOW! I highly recommend using this tip. I know I picked up this chucking technique so much quicker than I would have otherwise. You're an excellent teacher Bernadette. Many thanks!

    This is hands-down the best channel for beginner players. There are, of course, other brilliant ukulele teachers on UA-cam but they are mostly for those who have already been learning for 3-4 months and are fairly proficient already.

    Thank you.
    Your tutorial is the first one I have seen that teaches doing the chuck with the side of your thumb. That is the way I am able to chuck. Others I see advise chucking with your palm,
    which I can not do.
    I am at the stage that I can chuck but can't incorporate ii into a strumming pattern & song - just in isolation.

    I have to echo the comments below about this being THE video that really breaks down chucking in a way that allowed me to have a breakthrough and make progress. Thank you B for understanding where we tend to struggle in our Uke learning! You are a perceptive teacher of ukulele (and probably other things). Keep making these tutorial videos.

    Excellent video! I can chuck almost decently; sometimes a string will ring out. I like your exercises here and will use these to improve my chucking. LOL, as always, I love your instruction to "look up, look up" as you know exactly what we are doing at the moment----looking down at our ukulele----and we need to look up for a specific instruction that you're showing us. Thanks for the video!

    I’m a bit confused. 🤪 I’ve heard you say “up-chuck”. I’ve been told along the way that you only chuck after a downstroke? So how does that work?

    • @angierodgers148
      @angierodgers148 3 роки тому +2

      I think it means upstroke then chuck on the down. So up then chuck.
