Will I ever learn Lord !!!! You are a perfect tutor …. Iam trying & trying 😫😫thanks a million …. Hope to learn Atleast in a week … thanks a again . 🙏🏽🌹😍
Somehow I learned the chuck but while changing the chords find it difficult …. Wish I could learn in younger days … thanks again …. So surprised & overwhelmed to get a respond from you . 🙏🏽🌹
I watched like six videos on chucking. They were all very good but I didn't get it I watched yours completely different method got it in 5 minutes clear concise teaching totally awesome thank you so much
Thank you so much! I have been trying to learn to chunk for ages! I wasn't being able to make the strings ring before the mute, so it used to sound like "chk", but after watching your video, I finally managed to make the "chunk" sound.😊
Great explanation, Stu! - I have been trying to learn chucking with Cynthia Lin and sort of got it theoretically, but always felt that I wasn’t using he correct fingers of my right hand (I was only using my index finger). Your explanation of the two different ways to do it really helped. I’m not up to speed with it yet, but at least I fully understand the technique now.
I know people say this about a lot of different videos, but this one has really helped me get the chuck better than any other video (too many!) I've watched. Thanks! One question... I have a tough time with rhythm, so maybe I'm missing something obvious, but when you do the early G7, why skip the 1st down-strum on the next measure? It seems it goes early-SKIP-up-chuck-up-down-up-chuck-up, and it could go early-DOWN-up-chuck-up-down-up-chuck-up. Does skipping the downstrum just make for a cooler rhythm, or is there some rhythmic/theory reason for skipping? I do like the sound with the skip, but as a beginner, skipping the downstrum sort of adds to the cognitive dissonance (of the early G7 and everything else about playing ukukele). :) Thanks!
Love the quickie fun Friday tutorial. I think I am finally getting the chuck! I could have used a little more S-L-O-W time on the early G7 and what happens after that but I just keep playing the video back. I WILL get that one eventually. The short videos are easier to find the sections I need to replay. Love from Sacramento to you and yours. I look forward to the next fun Friday.
Greetings from Germany. If you go to settings, (it's the gear icon along the bar at bottom of the youtube video). There you can change the playback speed. Just slide back to what you want to see and play.
Quick question for anyone to add advice. I currently have a banjolele and a soprano uke. I am considering getting a tenor uke, should I have a low G string put on it. Advantages, thoughts, etc.
Thank you Stu🌷I find that I’ve been muting with a little twist of my wrist to stop the strings with the pad of my thumb. Would this restrict my next steps?
