💙 Bernadette, this is exactly what your students need. Please keep them coming. The presentation and delivery are perfect. One suggestion, your voice track is coming out only on the left channel. Prior to editing, or after the video and audio is on a time line, go to the audio tool and "pan" the audio to center. This will put it into both the left and right sides giving you stereo. Love the new hair and keep the tutorials coming. Happy Holidays!
Thank you. I just got my first Uke 2 weeks ago. This is my first experience with any stringed instrument. I have played drums for 15 years so including how the strum patterns lined up to the count made a world of difference to me.
Great lesson--it's so important to remind people to count out the beats. One suggestion, you might want to suggest one or two songs that fit each strumming pattern well.
I really like this and please need more. Strumming is the most intimidating for me being a newbie. Thanks so much for what you do. I think you are great.
Thank you!! I was listening while driving to work lol so I couldn’t “look up” but counting along and “strumming” which is what I need. In the coffee line now. I’ll rewatch this evening after work. 🙂
💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 That was so fun - especially the last one! Thank you! You've been my teacher since the pandemic started and thanks to you I've grown so much. Thank you!
Yes, yes, and yes!I I know you posted this a while ago, but...I've played music for years, but I always feel like my right hand (stemming hand) is my weakest link. So, more strumming please (as well as fingerpicking). Thanks and Blessings!
I 💙 today's video! Perfectly taught! Strumming pattern 1&2 aren't hard but tricky for me since I'm so used to strumming on 1. gotta work on that but its a great challenge. Def do more videos like this one, thank youuu! 👖💙👖
Really good tutorial, nice pacing and clear explanation. Wish I had been shown like this when I started playing,. It was like here's the chords, go for it, the strumming comes naturally. But of course really slowly, until you find a tutorial like this. However it would be helpful to suggest a couple of songs to practice with. Cheers.
Thanks you for posting! As someone who has never been very musically talented I appreciate you breaking things down. You explain things very clearly and the little "Look up." is great xD how'd you know?!
In between my work, Ive learned do much. You have some strumming I would love to learn but Arthritis hands its hard. I will continue though Thank!!😊😊😊😊
Yo Bernadette, could u do some strum lesson for country/folk and/or love song sector? I'm kind of stuck between some basic fingerpicking and island strum with like zillion variations. What sort of a strum would you play for lets say song called 'broken coastline' or 'dark black coal'?
(Second comment) Hi Bernadette, i love ukulele however im thinking about purchasing a student saxophone just to noodle around on, have you ever considered giving beginner saxophone lessons, i would love to be able to play two instruments, thanks......Scott 🎷 👍.
Hi Bernadette, love your teaching! Could you possibly do a lesson on the beautiful melody song Wildwood Flower both the chords and tabs? Thanks 😘 keep up the great teaching 👍
Love it... You know...once I learned to chuck...I have to try and put one in every song...as you know lol. Omg ..and on a side note I had to resubscribe...it frigging said I wasn't a subscribed ! Whaaaa??! Not possible... Oof!!!!
💙 Great video! I find left hand muting SO hard. I think it's a coordination thing. Any additional tips? The other 2 patterns I can do, and thanks for adding the foot in!

Exactly what I thought watching this tutorial.
Even though I'm not a beginner, I still count in my head, and that makes all the difference for me. Thanks for including the count!
You are a gifted and natural teacher.
