You are the best teacher I've ever had and at 73 years old I've had many teachers in my life. I so enjoy your videos, I'm a big fan. I'm learning so much from you. Thank you!!
I find that when I’m watching song tutorials, getting the proper chords and notes doesn’t mean much if you don’t truly hit the FEEL of the song, and the feel of the song seems strongly related to the proper picking patterns and/or strumming patterns. So, please keep them coming so we can add to our choices and inspiration!!! Thank you! 💟💜🍆💜💟
You are a great teacher and inspiration. I am a retired teacher of 42 years and you are truly outstanding and make learning fun.Thank you for your instructional videos. This is a nice and different strum that's good to add to the repertoire and quite easy to learn.
Really liked the picking & strumming tutorial. Fun change of pace. Started playing about 6 months ago. Got most of it, need a lot of work practice on the picking, haven.t really done too much picking. Thank you
Fantastique comme d'habitude !! Fantastic as usual ! I'm a French follower far away from California. Thank u so much Bernadette, a so lovely french name!
I love the way you instruct on how to strap the ukulele ,the first time I saw your channel and I subscribe right away to watch every video that you upload
Using your tutorials with my pupils in a Music SEN setting. Videos so polished, so well produced. Everything so clear, slowly paced. Perfect. I even love your change of dress style and accessories. Keeps us all interested! Thank you so much!!
Hello, Bernadette! I learnt how to play my first instrument from you and I wondered if you also have videos or plan to have on violin! Thanks a lot! You are one of my favourite youtubers.
Just discovered your channel today..i love how you teach and it encourages me to save up to buy my own quality ukelele ..just staying here to learn before i get my hands on such beautiful instruments..
@@lysettejiaucang3384 I bought a cheap uku just because there is only one tiny music shop in my homecity and it was all I could purchase. But I'm ok with it. My main purpose was to try it and I loved it! My uku sounds completely fine. I don't need other now. I've been playing it for less than 2 months yet.
💜💟💜💟🎶. I always love your tutorials!!! Even though I learn very slow, the uke, your tutorials, and my nightly uke time have so helped me through Covid pandemic… my distraction has become my obsession (hehehe). I never leave my uke behind when I’m going away- Mental out the door travel list: Keys, wallet, phone, dog, uke, … good to go! So more strumming tutorials please! Keep them coming! 💜💟💜💟💜🎶
I bought this very ukulele as my first instrument. It’s very easy to play. The quality seems very good considering the price. Thank you for validating my choice!😀
Hi Bernadette, well iam still still struggling with this strumming, Its over a good year. You just make it so easy, finger picking patterns i have no prob. Wishing you a great Christmas time too
Yes! PLEASE, more tutorials for strumming and PARTICULARLY picking patterns! Strumming patterns come fairly easy to me but am at the stage where I need to "pick" up (no pun intended) my picking pattern game! ....Don't know how to add emojis on my chrome laptop...SO... PURPLE PURPLE PURPLE PURPLE PURPLE PURPLE PURPLE PURPLE PURPLE PURPLE!!!!!
Bernadette.. Hi I'm Hyacinth from India.. I love your tutorials.. You patience is amazing.. I find myself going all over the place with excitement, but feel I need a more structured/systematic approach to my learning.. What started as a fun pandemic thing to do, has got my heart strings too.. Could you please guide me as to where to begin?
Thank you for this tutorial! Can you also please do a tutorial on what is bpm? In every songs I search there's a bpm on the strumming pattern, like 90bpm, 67bpm, 89bpm, etc.
How long? No simple answer. I was terrible at that until I chanced acress a Ms B video. I wasn't thinking of it the right way. Just get your uke, follow what she says and keep at it. Bit by bit, you'll get there. Could be days. Weeks. Or even months. But you will get there. Just make sure you enjoy it!
Just love Your Videos! That strumming pattern on 8:00 reminds me of a beautiful Song "Voices" by Dario G. (The Beach Soundtrack). Maybe it doesn't sound exactly like that song, but the feeling it transports is exactly the same. Maybe You can make want to make a tutorial for that beautiful song? I guess that would be liked a lot.
When I pronounce it the Hawaiian way, I get called out. When I pronounce it the mainland way, I get called out. When I spell it the way Spanish speakers spell it (ukelele), someone’s feathers get ruffled. What I’ve learned is that a word is a word and if it communicates the meaning, the accents and variations are just that -variations. ❤️

At the end during the fast strum are you feathering or just strumming faster.
I am a beginner right now. How long till I can comfortably play these patterns? I love the sound
Depends on how much time you're willing to give to practicing.

I have been playing 3 months but practice at least two hours a day. I can just about manage this when not being watched.😄🎣
Part 2 please 😁
Last strumming pattern reminds of the ending of "Hey Jude" by the Beatles. Played with chird progression: F/Eb/Bb/F 👍🤙👊
Please make another - part 2
Hi! Do u think that Ortega keiki ukulele is good fot a beginner? Im thinking about buying it
I think what helped me learned this 7:55 strumming pattern is by breaking it down as DDDDU--UU--DUDU? I hope it helps someone🤗

The string brand, Aquila, is pronounced AH-kwee-lah - it's an Italian word meaning Eagle. Aquila is an Italian company.
