Lrg was once the streetwear “polo” Jonas died and it all went downhill… Cookies is now the new corny stoner apparel… hoping lrg hires a new creative director and changes shit around
Yeah I still Rock LRG🌲🦒to this day.been rocking it over15 years, they been the only brand I have worn.I believe it buddy hadn’t died the brand would be still on top.
53 years old, love LRG,To me this brand has gone through on the street trends and they are still strong,,it's the man that makes the clothes instead of the other way around 🤜💥🤛
Fun fact when the company started: Jonas gave his homie DJ Dojah the task to compile a now super rare cassette tape with local underground west coast artists to help promote the LRG brand to backpacker/hip hop heads. I still got mine😎🤟🏻 RIP JONAS🙏🏼
Yeahh man LRG ain't goin nowhere it's here to stay as long as cats like me still wearing lrg gear ain't never gettin played out LRG is DOPE don't sleep true hip hop lives👊
LRG didn’t get played out by oversaturation bro it was literally as soon as Jonás died the brand went down hill… robert was a nutjob and was never in tune w what was going on…
LRG was fly af. honestly hadn’t thought about them in years, but growing up skating and throughout high school, i used to rock that ish all the time. i remember saving up to buy LRG fits back in the day. It was well made, unique designs and logos, (loved the giraffe), and had branding and statements that meant something, it tried to portray a certain lifestyle, and ethics that most brands didn’t dare try and attach themselves to back then.. i mean now a days, (and especially after the rise of HUF) you see weed inspired clothing and messages about drugs and trapping all the time, it’s blatant.. but back then they were one of the only brands to do that. i remember having the entire “Hustle Trees” line and thinking it was the coolest shit ever. 😂 but they also had messaging and marketing about helping the environment and sustainability too. Honestly, i’m finna track down and cop some vintage LRG pieces to incorporate into my wardrobe. Let’s bring that shit back! haha
I just went to the store and saw a bunch of this everywhere. Luckily I bought a whole lrg trenchtown rockers tracksuit for 20dollars! Love lrg and the other Kings of streetwear.
That's what I'm saying....when did LRG die? Not what they used to be true...but far from dead. And how trends are nowadays you can pull stuff back as retro.
Their shirts and general clothing are still wildly popular and found on skaters around the world. The company didn't die from urban wear, just one area being music inspired and street inspired folk. I'm sure a lot of those folk back then weren't from the life either! I reckon some of their clothing from 2016 onward has been truly unique and great wearing. The designs have definitely kept growing and been a stand out amongst some rather dull 'just a name' shirts.
I went to the site prior to this video and I have noticed that the gear isn't really too expensive. T-shirt around $25. I had a few of their gear during that time in those early 2000s. I still have one of those jackets. :)
I’ll never forget rocking my dead serious hoodie at school in 2007 and a friend who was walking🚶♂️🚶♂️with me said I FEEL FAMOUS WALKING NEXT TO YOU RIGHT NOW “EVERYONE” IS LOOKING AT YOU……..💀remember people charge in the light before you go out at night
You left out arguably the most important factor of their downfall. LRG became synonymous with oversized and baggy clothing in the 2000s. So when people moved away from that style in the 2010s towards slim and skinny, LRG naturally became a no-go. It's only recently that LRG has been making a small comeback but now under corporate ownership. Zoo York was in big department stores the same time as LRG but Zoo York felt like it was popping, at least in New York, but LRG was something you didn't see anyone buying.
Well...when one of the co-founders passes away and the company gets sold to a venture company.. what did you expect to happen? I did see some commotion about the LRG Skate program coming back last year, but I really havent seen any much noise since....definitely a brand that I would support again.
They fell of when Jonas passed, they use to have the DOPE ASS TRACK JACKETS, seems like they switched up and jumped on the skater band wagon. I like Psycho Bunny, but that shit is 💸💸💸💸.
Wait a fucking a second.. they had a LRG side kick? Bruh I had the (sidekick id, sidekick 3 d-wade edition, sidekick 08 version, and 09 version of the sidekick LX..) but never knew that version existed smh 🤦🏽♂️
@@takeflight2142 That's great, Staple and LRG are both the only older streetwear brands I still like. Even though their no where near as relevant as they once were, they still produce good lines of clothing every now and then. I'll be looking out for it, when it drops.
He was inspired by LRG. He even admits it in his latest video. And admits he may have been inspired by their Hustle Trees design that was around since 2004. Do the research.
Are you 0:32 You gotta be kidding me! LRG still has some hot joints. I just copped this dope track suit. They don’t follow any trends. They do they own thing and I still fucks with them for that. It wasn’t until homie passed away that it fell off but they still have hot threads. I was the only one with Skeleton hoodie that glowed in the dark. They should’ve kept it boutique. Play Cloths had some hot digs too. But Supreme came along and then the weirdos started wearing weird shit that looked overly feminine and for some reason fools rode the train. I call it fuckboi clothing. The LRG GSXr is still the dopest street bike ever made in my personal worthless opinion. Clear wheels I mean the shit was dope. RIP to founder. He was a real one.
man you right-she ain't what she used to be. But I got Loyalty permanently on my forearm, and it's not catchy. My LRG collection is my whole damn wardrobe, except for some Upper Playground, Obey, and I still got 7th Letter. Our mans right though. Over saturation is LR's downfall. That being said-Fewer Fucks Given. Oh, Supreme something? Do you skate? and what skaters afford that ish? Comme Des Garconnes, etc...? If you streaming a million views on your music, okay, I get the posh designers. Idk. Guess I'll always prefer to keep it real. I still support LRG. And it still set you above the crowds.
I still rock LRG till this day and there clothes stay fly :DDDDDD
Me too!

I still have a sick green, sweatshirt with a huge Aztec hit on the back, and sleeves. Still one of my favorite pieces to wear!

I still rock LRG till this day in 2024. The clothes are 🔥 and comfortable to me.
That's what I'm saying....when did LRG die? Not what they used to be true...but far from dead. And how trends are nowadays you can pull stuff back as retro.
Especially the Hustle Trees tees

Still dope but some designs are goofy for sure

Btw, there is also a pedestrian in GTA that wears the red lrg skull hoodie. Its pretty cool
it was popular amongst skaters and stoners long before the hip-hop crowd discovered it, and trying to appeal to that crowd is what killed this brand.
Lrg is still lit 🔥
Still have one of their polos in my closet.
i accidentally got sent a bunch of LRG stuff a few weeks ago, so i can say its still holds up
He used to be our neighbor very cool guy. Very awesome.
lrg almost felt designer at one point lmao
