      Thanks Jerry. Having the opportunity to run this vertical has opened my eyes. I know they’re more expensive but well worth it if you’re working on huge rounds. Had a great fourth. Hope you did as well. Thanks for watching.👊🏻

      @@toddsoutsideagain I agree, the ultra is kind of the do all, just not do all as good as the verticals for precision or the production machines for mass production. But it can hang with them and it’s easy to move 🤷‍♂️

    Hey Todd and Evan , good to see RED out and stretching her cylinder a bit . I have been looking at the splitfires vertical splitter . I contacted them and asked where they bringing one to the Bunyan show and they said they were not sure which machines they were bringing . I point blank told them if they didn’t bring their vertical splitter they were messing up . Good video . Take care . 👍🏻🇺🇸🪵

    Nothing wrong with your boxer splitter. I love the work hight. If it was mine I'd build a work table to stack rounds close maybe with a section rollers like the unload boxes from a truck. And I'd look for a valve to speed up cycle time but that's it.

    • @toddsoutsideagain

    Since the 17VS is leaving soon, you considering getting a vertical machine to replace it?
    The 17VS would be hard to beat. But I am considering the new vertical splitter from Split-Fire, the 1165. It a lot smaller than the 17VS, and hand-control.. but a vertical splitter for around $3k has me very interested

    For an un-modified box store splitter, thats definitely faster then average!.
    Must be a 16gpm pared with a 4" cylinder.
    Usually, 16's are used on a 5" cylinder making it about the same speed as a 11gpm on a 4"
    .
    If its off warranty, you could adjust the gov spring a bit, get the engine to run a little faster then the oem 3,600 max.
    Mabe shave off another 1.5-ish seconds a round trip.
    .
    Removeing the 90 degree fitting would help fluid flow a bit.

      @toddsoutsideagain  3 місяці тому +1
