The Tollycraft is the best boat ever. I live near the old assembly buildings in Kelso, WA. The yard is used for other purposes today. Every time I drive to the buildings, I have old memories of the workers starting their shifts and listening to the Black Crows. Their favorite band at the time.
Such a fun story! We loved the Tollycraft. They have very livable layouts. But they are hard to find on the East Coast.
Love the big Tollycrafts. I have a 34 sport sedan and it’s fantastic… it’s hard to beat those classic Ed Monk lines.
Agreed! The boat we purchased was also designed by Ed Monk. His designs are the best!
Tollycraft is a winner in our book! This has been our dream boat for a while. If you find one within your reach (or can ship it), do it! We’ll be jealous! Just got 2 offers on our Tolly today and are feeling a little sad. Perfect timing for your Tolly VBS! Thanks!
Congrats! We think? We are sure she will have a wonderful life with her new owners.
At 4:04, the thing on the bulkhead is the 'Keeper' for that "engine room" door. I like a Fleming's look more than this, Cool as this looks. Love the tours !! Love them ! BEST tour channel on the tube ! I want a Dedicated dining table/area too !
Thanks for the info and for the big compliment!!! We really appreciate it. :)
I think I remember you saying that you followed Nautistyles? They've been doing a series recently on "affordable" live aboard boats. Who knows, both Victoria and Rico are licensed Captains, you might be able to get them to deliver a west coast boat to you as part of their channel!
Interesting thought!
Check out all the Tolly 61 shenanigans on our channel! We've been running 61s for years.... Just took a tolly 48 from Vancouver BC to Cabo too...
Finally you guys are looking at a real boat😉.
2 Best boat builders ever existed... Uniflite & Tollycraft, both built in the PNW.
This Tolly is beautiful, but not sure about oak & white interior finish.
Check out Tolly 53 widebody also.
Totally agree!!! They just aren’t here in the East Coast.
Like this one the best
Thanks Nay Nay!
They have yacht transport ships that ferry several yachts at a time from the west coast to the east coast or vise versa. On one of the looper channels a boat owner is doing just that with his trawler yacht so he can explore the west coast from Mexico to Alaska.
Tempting!!!
I am currently looking at that boat, it is quite a bit of boat for the budget. Will see how serious it gets. Thanks
for your video review.
You bet. Good luck! She’s a beauty!
Well I must say this by far is the best VBS and best boat... Now with that being said I will spend your money for you!! This bad girl is a keeper if it survey's out!!!
Come on now loosen that check book exercise those wrists and GET'ER DONE...
you two crack me up 😂 plenty of room for cat's, kid's and an 8"x11" easel on the flybridge.. and if you needed 🐰 pads could be moved towards bow and a few solar panels on behind the said 🐰 pads... see I am unlimited budget but on time!!
3 2 1 buy it
Ha! Easy for you to say!!!!
Hey! This is a little late coming, but there is a Tollycraft 61 in Jupiter, Fla..... Saw it on Yachtworld.
Thanks for sending it on Kyle!
There is a 1985 Nordlund 61 foot for sale on yacht world in Florida. Nordlund built the hulls for Tollycraft. This Nordlund has been completely refit with modern Cummins power. The Nordlund has a standup engine room. Only 435 k
What boat did you end up getting? I've got a Tolly61 and we LOVE it. That arch doesn't come down. The 50gal goes a week for 2 people 'cause vacuflush is water-frugal. Agree with the comment about dining area. You get more space with a taller, "cab forward" boat like a Hatteras; the Tolly is 2-floors tall only under the pilothouse. You left out that it goes 11kts just above idle. Detroits? I love them but it's my first big boat so what do I know? In a do-over, we might go for stabilizers though she rolls way less than the Defever did. Cake to park with a bow thruster, so check, but probably they all have 'em?
We are still in the process of buying a boat. We survey one this week so fingers crossed! Thanks for this info on your Tolly. They are great boats!
@@TheBoomershines 'cause of watching your video we're getting a drop leaf added to our pilothouse table. It'll be 48 x32 opened. There're nice teak fold up chairs that are the right height.
@@MarkKrebs Love it! Glad we could help :)
OMG stop talking about the dining table an ask how fast does she go and how many crab pots does she hold! .lol :-)
LOL Those were not part of our search criteria. But we did successfully dodge about a bagillion crab pots and ate our fair share of crab along the Loop. If you are a crab fisherman, thank you for all your hard work catching one of our favorite foods!
I am really confused...I have yet to see a boat review that has a room for me?!
Are you a trained tutor/teacher for 2nd and 3rd grade? 🤣
Cinda here -- you just made me laugh out loud. We will MAKE room for you any time!!! I'd sleep in the engine room if it means you are with us :). xoxo
Cinda again -- any experience educating children with dyslexia??? xoxo
check out a meridian 5788
We love Meridian! We reviewed a 580 here ua-cam.com/video/RAA3j8yvbVI/v-deo.html
And as best I can tell, Meridian 580 is the same as a Bayliner 5788 with slightly different finishes. Both would make GREAT loop boats
Why would you want to sail the Missippi? It's ugly and muddy, for the shops and the tourism? No Berry the 13 foot gator tourism season doesn't me you can eat the tourist. Enjoy your trip.
