We purchased 1990 44 cpmy Tollycraft three years ago after watching C-shells videos. Powered by Detroit Diesels 6v53’s. Since purchasing our boat down here in Florida we now know of 5 others that were able to find these (Unicorns) as some call then on the east coast of the U.S. The build quality of Tollycrafts are second to none. If you want to see and learn more about Tollycrafts I would invite you to check out Searching for C-Shells. Cindy and Sheldon do a fantastic series showing how life can be on a Tollycraft.

It’s funny I’m not sure what I like better, the super yachts or the affordable live aboards. One is a dream and the other is a very possible buy. I love them all, you two aren’t so bad either. Thanks for the videos.
I really like this boat! It has charm with more interior wood. The exterior walkways are wide with great railings; newer boats have thin walkways around the boat, not user friendly. This boat has a dinette, yeah, alot of newer boats don't! Older boats have more room since the LOA does not include the molded swim platforms, a 44 foot boat is really a 44! You get more with an older boat for a lot less money! Great showing! I like you are finally wearing boat shoes, save your toes lol!! Great job!!
Hi Nauti Duo, Remembering back to my Navy Days and Boot camp I think your Titanic Moment was on the Prow of the ship. I think there are other names as well. On a sailing craft it would the Bow Sprit. I do not know if that name would translate to a Motor Vessel. I love all your vessels but the affordable series really has my interest.
Had the pleasure of meeting Tolley Tolleson at the AGC building on Lake Union in Seattle. My wife and I sat with him and his poodle and had him just tell us about his life, he mentioned he would see tollycraft coming into Marina used to overlook and would do a hand drawing and bring it to the owner of the boat at the Marina!
Truly awesome and so well laid out. If you hadn't told us I would not believe this vessel is 28 years old. She appears to have been very well taken care of and at 2200 and 2400 respectively her engines if they've been maintained properly have a good bit of life left in them. Barring a survey and sea trail I'd say she's ready to go and well worth the money. It's a dang shame that I can't afford to snag her right now as this is pretty much exactly the size, level and layout I'm looking for for myself, my wife and our special needs son. It would be fairly easy for him to move around in and on and has plenty of room for just the 3 of us. I wonder if 500nm is the limit of it's range barring Jerry Cans or if it's possible to run on a single engine or both with low revs at 4 to 6 knots or so and really extend her range. Many people don't realize the benefits of a power boat being able to maintain a constant speed over ground of around that 5 knot range and just how much ground/sea you can cover that way. 120nm in a 24 hour period day over day is nothing to sneeze at and is better than a lot of cruisers are able to maintain. Does that dingy come with it as well? I truly hope in a year or so I'll be able to find a vessel like this that looks like most of it's life has been spent as only a weekender or for short vacations. Thanks for sharing her with us and finding such an affordable vessel that has been so well maintained and large enough to actually live on and capable of doing some island hoping or coastal cruising...
Cockpit would be such a great home office. Also, I know the owner of Fireboy and he is an awesome, very dedicated guy with 35 years of sailing behind him who's company makes great fire extinguishers and carbon monoxide detectors which are so critical on a boat.
When I was a child back in the early ‘70’s my grandparents had a boat that was, if memory serves me, in the mid 30 foot range and there are a few things about this boat that remind me of that one. The guest cabin (the only cabin on theirs) was very similar as was the louvered doors and the wood trim, the helm, and many other features. This might explain part of my interest in your channel, the other being your friendly personalities! Thanks again for another great tour, I can’t wait to see what you come up with in Cannes! That ought to be amazing!
I believe the “Titanic spot” is called the Pulpit? Anyone that’s a fan of the movie Jaws knows that! Love the layout of this boat. Great size and price! Another great video!
i'm not a boater, but i was on a small piece of the loop. i helped a family friend bring their sailboat from the saint lawrence seaway into buffalo harbor, across the erie canal. unfortunately it had to be mast down the whole way, but it was a blast going through all the locks. and we met a lot of really nice boaters along the way. there seems to be a strong fraternal bond between all boat folks, and they've all got a million stories.
Great to see affordable cruisers, we all dream those mega yachts but the reality is most of us buy sub 50 footers. Thanks for another amazing walkthrough keep them coming and love the out takes.
Thanks Rico and Victoria for yet another fun and interesting tour..! You sure know how to make just about any old boat interesting. Love the dinette and the water maker in this one. As far as I can understand, this boat has not been changed much since it was new..; It's just well maintained. Hence, it gives an interesting glimpse into the life and times when it was built in 1993. A great budget option - and a bit of a blank canvas for the right person. I would definitely add lots of solar panels, LifePo4 batteries, etc.
Wow, you just reviewed a boat like ours! Nice job guys! 👍 We may be biased but this is a great cruising boat at a great price point. She has taken us many places in safety and comfort. Find a Tollycraft 61 to tour, a very impressive boat.
@@MrMediterrano No, this boat is a great coastal or Caribbean island hopping boat. You would need a full displacement, stabilized, trawler type motor vessel to accomplish that goal.
@@SearchingforCShels Actually this is exactly what I would like to do but as I am in Europe, the boat would need to be brought over to here, that’s why I asked.
thanks for sharing this unusual yacht Rico & Victoria ... some of these older tubs have a lot of interesting features that newer boats don't have i find the newer boats a bit bland they all have a similar layout , you have a decent size lounge, a more than ample lunch/ dinette, loads of storage a really comfortable master that nice, bright and airy with all the windows a lot of newer boats the master has very little in the way of natural lighting ... it would be a great live aboard/cruiser .... sorry i missed the premier of the video but i needed a bit of a Siesta
Thanks guys! This looks like a really nice boat for cruising the San Juan islands, Sea of Cortez, or great loop. Good interior space, shoal draft, and she will go if you need to get there in a hurry and don't mind the price of diesel. Cheers!
If you told me the yacht was from the early 2000s I'd believe you. It's been well maintained and sure it could use some updating but the bones are good and you can take your time changing things up.
Such a lovely couple your like the perfect neighbors or favorite teachers . I love how much fun you make these tours . God bless both of you , AMEN ! 😇😇🥇🥇🥇🇺🇸🏁💯
I started becoming interested in yachts at about the time this was built. Good sturdy boat. Update a couple things and weigh anchor. And I still want to know what loop is about. 🙃🤷♀️❤️👍
I love this boat. Parents had a 1976 26' Tolly. This is an entirely higher level. Sorry it sold. I convinced my wife to go see it last summer, but it was a bit too late.
Hiya Vico, again. It's good to see you back in hoops, nearly stripes, and the hat is wonderful as is the sea horse jewellery! It showed that you are experienced liveaboards, from comments about the, in this case, excellent storage to the plethora of cross breezes everywhere, you are always looking and on this boat finding both. Considering how old this boat is, she has a lot of things worth commenting on, the huge, in comparison with contemporary boats, windows, plus the number of them. The extra escape ports forward in the master and en-suite, a window shoe-horned in where you just would not envisage one, everywhere. Yes, the navigation equipment, that radar... is very much of the time of the boats making, but even old they still work, I just wish I worked that well! Or as well as you two do... Yet another wonderful walkthrough of a very tidy potential purchase. Thank you both for a fantastic tour of a potential home on the water. Were all the cupboard doors full louvre doors, or just for show? In other words, did they allow airflow helping to prevent that musty smell? Stay safe...Steve xx...
Just love the interaction beween you guys! Always makes for the most entertaining vlog plus you're patter is informative! Now looking forward to the $500,000 live aboards!!
As a new subscriber / viewer I love noticing little funny things from your older videos compared to you newer ones. For example the shower was kinda smaller but you said it was pretty big and then on your newer boat videos the showers are very huge and you say it's just a 1 and half person shower. Just fun to see how things change and evolve over time.
LOL. I think that the fact that both of you have English as a Second Language ADDS to both the charm and the humor of your presentations and outtakes ;) I do recall catching it on another video and not mentioning (don't recall how long ago that one was made), but it's "cute"-- as V. or my little sister would say- that you say "sleeper sofer" instead of sleeper sofa. ;)
New to the channel, really enjoy watching the light banter between you two. You obviously have a true passion for what you do. Have a serious question for Rico. On this mid access engine room under the steps how would you replace larger components if necessary?
Thank you again Victoria & Rico. You two always do a nice presentation. This is just about the size of boat (44') that I would like. Maybe a little smaller since I don't have a partner to help me. But I always enjoy your videos.
Great video. I wonder about the risks of buying an older boat. I’ve read that you typically cannot insure a boat that is over 20 years old, and that many marinas require insurance. Also, if the boat sinks or has a similar mishap you could be liable for costs that may even exceed the purchase price. Am I just too negative?
That’s absolutely not true, you will have a hard time financing a boat older then 15 years old, but insurance is not going to be in issue, you can always get insurance
Victoria & Rico, I look forward to your weekly videos. What a great job you folks do. How do you find such great boats? Do the owners reach out or the brokers? I'm new in the nautical business and have really enjoyed it. You guys are a great inspiration. Thank you. Cornell
Thank you so much, Sometimes the brokers reach out and we decide if we want to film it or we find the boat we want to film most of the time and reach out to them
Just discovered you. As to your question I think what you were standing on could best be best described as a modified "bowsprit" for a power boat. Unless power boats have a special term for it. On a sailboat it is a bowsprit with forestays and maybe a figurehead.
It's a big 44 footer, meaning the space was used well by the builder. I think it's a good deal, and I could live in that no problem...plus she's got two Cats. How many hours do the motors have?
@@namvet1968 absolutely. Easy to do a 3 zone cruise air. Lots of room in the back lazerette . We have 3 zone heating , but no AC. really don’t need it here in BC.
This is my favorite boat so far because it doesn’t seem tiny and I can afford it. Lol great tour. If I was going to live aboard this, I will take that forward room and turn it into an office. Gut it as much as I could.
While I don't have a yacht yet.. and sure there are plenty I lust after that are either bigger, newer or more equipped than this one.. When I finally take my first step into Yachting.. I'd gladly buy something like this as long as It was in solid shape ready to go with a well maintained maintenance record. I'd even live aboard it. It's like a small apartment that can go anywhere.
Tollycraft built great boats, in Kelso Washington. I was one of their parts contractors. I really liked the people there. That's more than that boat cost new.
I’d love to downsize my life and live on the water with my wife and two pugs, but it would take a boat this size to be comfortable, and this age to be affordable. I could write a check for this boat, but it’s all the future checks required to maintain that worry me. I need to get a better idea about what I’d be spending to keep this home sweet home. You guys should do a video along those lines sometime, so people would get a sense of what they’d be spending after the purchase. I know it would have to be very general, since every boat is different. This is a great series, y’all. It gives us of moderate means hope.

Looks like a great choice for a live aboard. Great price and layout and an amazing amount of space for a 44 footer. Excellent tour, Victoria and Rico!
We agree! 💙💙
You guys could/will be successful at any project because you work hard and produce great videos. But that’s not all…
You guys are
1. Positive
2. NOT condescending
3. Know your subject matter
4. You love each other
Nice job.
Ooooow thank you kindly 🙏🏻🙏🏻💙💙
We purchased 1990 44 cpmy Tollycraft three years ago after watching C-shells videos. Powered by Detroit Diesels 6v53’s. Since purchasing our boat down here in Florida we now know of 5 others that were able to find these (Unicorns) as some call then on the east coast of the U.S. The build quality of Tollycrafts are second to none. If you want to see and learn more about Tollycrafts I would invite you to check out Searching for C-Shells. Cindy and Sheldon do a fantastic series showing how life can be on a Tollycraft.
👌🏻👌🏻
I love the affordable yacht videos! I been looking for something under 200k to make a main home out of. Single person, no kids. Lots of space!
A really great yacht for The Loop! It has really nice design, plenty of windows, but no air conditioning for when there is a heatwave!
You can definitely add that
Put one in!
@@NautiStyles You can refit just about anything and spend as much money as possible. Thank you so much for these weekly incredible videos, I really love your content and I love the playfulness between you.
Beautiful Yacht older ones ike this has proven itself to be a well maintained and sturday vessel. This is perfect as a liveaboard for a couple or even a small family. it would crusie well and in rough weather i ma sure. You also show the best and this is excellent and shows your knowledge very well. thank you for sharing and keep safe.
Many thanks!
It’s funny I’m not sure what I like better, the super yachts or the affordable live aboards. One is a dream and the other is a very possible buy. I love them all, you two aren’t so bad either. Thanks for the videos.
haha, tough choice 😝 thank you for watching
Yes, for sure! And the dinghy come with it
Cockpit would be such a great home office. Also, I know the owner of Fireboy and he is an awesome, very dedicated guy with 35 years of sailing behind him who's company makes great fire extinguishers and carbon monoxide detectors which are so critical on a boat.
Tollycraft boats are very well made, and this one seems as though it's been very well maintained, as well.
It is for harpooning whales, to harvest whale oil
Bowstring
....
Bowsprit......dam auto correct.....
i'm not a boater, but i was on a small piece of the loop. i helped a family friend bring their sailboat from the saint lawrence seaway into buffalo harbor, across the erie canal. unfortunately it had to be mast down the whole way, but it was a blast going through all the locks. and we met a lot of really nice boaters along the way. there seems to be a strong fraternal bond between all boat folks, and they've all got a million stories.
This is a great series !!! I never knew you could get something this nice at an affordable price ! Great tour as usual ,👍
Thanks for watching!
Sure was nice too see a good old boat !! That has lots of life left in her 👍
Looking forward to seeing other 40 - 60' yachts
More coming up!
Great to see affordable cruisers, we all dream those mega yachts but the reality is most of us buy sub 50 footers.
Thanks for another amazing walkthrough keep them coming and love the out takes.
You are very welcome 👌🏻
Thanks Rico and Victoria for yet another fun and interesting tour..!
You sure know how to make just about any old boat interesting. Love the dinette and the water maker in this one.
As far as I can understand, this boat has not been changed much since it was new..; It's just well maintained.
Hence, it gives an interesting glimpse into the life and times when it was built in 1993.
A great budget option - and a bit of a blank canvas for the right person.
I would definitely add lots of solar panels, LifePo4 batteries, etc.
I never knew about the loop. I learned something new from watching your videos thank you. You and Rico are very entertaining.
Thank you, glad to hear it was helpful 👌🏻
You guys bring a smile every time I watch your videos. So upbeat!
Wow, you just reviewed a boat like ours! Nice job guys! 👍 We may be biased but this is a great cruising boat at a great price point. She has taken us many places in safety and comfort. Find a Tollycraft 61 to tour, a very impressive boat.
👌🏻 Nice! Great boats
I was just going to say that looks like the same model boat you have.
Can this boat cross the Atlantic?
@@MrMediterrano No, this boat is a great coastal or Caribbean island hopping boat. You would need a full displacement, stabilized, trawler type motor vessel to accomplish that goal.
@@SearchingforCShels Actually this is exactly what I would like to do but as I am in Europe, the boat would need to be brought over to here, that’s why I asked.
Very doable price for me but the helm station needs to be more forward love your videos you guys
thanks for sharing this unusual yacht Rico & Victoria ... some of these older tubs have a lot of interesting features that newer boats don't have i find the newer boats a bit bland they all have a similar layout , you have a decent size lounge, a more than ample lunch/ dinette, loads of storage a really comfortable master that nice, bright and airy with all the windows a lot of newer boats the master has very little in the way of natural lighting ... it would be a great live aboard/cruiser .... sorry i missed the premier of the video but i needed a bit of a Siesta
No worries, thanks for watching. Siesta’s are important 😝🙌🏻
Thanks guys! This looks like a really nice boat for cruising the San Juan islands, Sea of Cortez, or great loop. Good interior space, shoal draft, and she will go if you need to get there in a hurry and don't mind the price of diesel.
Cheers!
Fantastic show, I really enjoyed it.
This vessel has been extremely well maintained and it looks really good for its age.
Thanks guy's...
Agreed
Hi folks. Life took over and I missed watching you, but I'm back now. The last time I viewed you were contemplating upgrading your yacht.
Welcome back! Still working on that, soon very soon 🙈😝
Hello Victoria and Rico. Looking absolutely forward to this Yacht tour you are amazing with Rico as always 🇨🇦👍🇨🇦
Thank you so much Roland 🙏🏻💙
If you told me the yacht was from the early 2000s I'd believe you. It's been well maintained and sure it could use some updating but the bones are good and you can take your time changing things up.
Beats a condo and it's mobile. Loving it! Props 4 U Vic n Rico. Thanks as always! 🙏💥🙏
Glad you like it!
Google The Great Loop
This is a short,complete 'get to know'about The Loop.Less than 4 mins.
I love this boat. Parents had a 1976 26' Tolly. This is an entirely higher level. Sorry it sold. I convinced my wife to go see it last summer, but it was a bit too late.
Another great video! Seems like you guys have been doing a great job of mixing in the affordable liveaboards with the cool high end stuff.
Thank you, have been working on that 🙏🏻💙
what was the maximum range of this yaught
Hi Stephen, so true! Glad you enjoyed the tour. Yes, proper door great for Venting 🙌🏻
@@NautiStyles thank you...Steve
I seriously love this Affordable series! Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Will do!
Really like this boat, i like the traditional/nostalgical look, its also looks really open and spacious. Real classy.
Just love the interaction beween you guys! Always makes for the most entertaining vlog plus you're patter is informative! Now looking forward to the $500,000 live aboards!!
Awesome! Thank you!
What a lovely yacht for the age of it. Kudos to the owners for keeping it well!
Awesome video love watching you and Rico you two do an amazing job.
Yay! Thank you!
Good morning Victoria &Rico, looking forward to your beautiful Yacht tour today. ⚓🛥😘🇺🇲🇩🇪
See you soon!
I love the running joke measuring showers by the number of people it can hold comfortably. :^D
When your wife looks like that, you're not gonna shower on your own haha.
🤣🤣😝
🙈🙈
Love those big windows. So bright and airy. It’s a lot of boat for the money.
There is always a way to fulfill your dreams.
Yes, definitely
As a new subscriber / viewer I love noticing little funny things from your older videos compared to you newer ones. For example the shower was kinda smaller but you said it was pretty big and then on your newer boat videos the showers are very huge and you say it's just a 1 and half person shower. Just fun to see how things change and evolve over time.
I keep hoping to see a can of Dinty Moore in the cupboards.
🙈😝😂
My dogs won't even eat that...seriously. And they're down to dry kibble by the end of the day.
LOL. I think that the fact that both of you have English as a Second Language ADDS to both the charm and the humor of your presentations and outtakes ;)
I do recall catching it on another video and not mentioning (don't recall how long ago that one was made), but it's "cute"-- as V. or my little sister would say- that you say "sleeper sofer" instead of sleeper sofa. ;)
New to the channel, really enjoy watching the light banter between you two. You obviously have a true passion for what you do. Have a serious question for Rico. On this mid access engine room under the steps how would you replace larger components if necessary?
I like that you guys also present these well-maintained affordable vessels as well. Very cool.
Our pleasure
That's a pretty nice design for 1993. I hope the Outtakes are included. ;)
😝🤣👌🏻 always
Great video guys, it’s called the pulpit, the area of the bow that overhangs the sea - a great spot for dolphin watching.
Spot on!! 🙌🏻💙
Great video 👍 Do more affordable boats/yacht please, this is great 😀
You got it
Thank you again Victoria & Rico.
Thanks, that’s a big relief!
For insurance; the most important thing you will need is a recent, professional marine survey.
The protrusion on the bow is the bow pulpit. (I'm a retired pastor but hard to forget the pulpit 😘).
Great job folks!
Bingo!!
Victoria & Rico, I look forward to your weekly videos. What a great job you folks do. How do you find such great boats? Do the owners reach out or the brokers? I'm new in the nautical business and have really enjoyed it. You guys are a great inspiration. Thank you. Cornell
Thank you so much, Sometimes the brokers reach out and we decide if we want to film it or we find the boat we want to film most of the time and reach out to them
Nice older boat, Great fun tour guys. Plenty of engine power in those big Cats. Thanks.
They say “Totally “ so much that I thought we were really back in 1993 ! I Totally Did !
Nice layout. For an older boat, it looks very well looked after.
I think so too!
Just discovered you. As to your question I think what you were standing on could best be best described as a modified "bowsprit" for a power boat. Unless power boats have a special term for it. On a sailboat it is a bowsprit with forestays and maybe a figurehead.
You know what it’s called, the pulpit. I love every episode.
I'm currently looking at buying a 40' Tolly for living aboard. Nice to see the 44', it's a beautiful boat indeed!
Go for it!
@@NautiStyles I'm tempted to especially with current events! Thanks for all the great videos guys, it's very helpful for first time buyers like me!
It's a big 44 footer, meaning the space was used well by the builder. I think it's a good deal, and I could live in that no problem...plus she's got two Cats. How many hours do the motors have?
We made one and installed it on our sailboat when I lived in Miami as a child. It is a pulpit.
Same as my family’s boat , it is a fabulous rough water boat , wish I could post a pic for you guys …. Greetings from Gibsons British Columbia.
Would it be possible to add air conditioning to this boat?
A beauty, must have sold already. Can always watch and dream of these boats that I view. The two of you are fantastic. :-)
Thank you both from keeping me to go completely insane in this world LOVE YOUR SHOW THANKS KEN.
Thank you so much! So happy to hear that
Tollycraft built great boats, in Kelso Washington.
I just got home from vacation in Indiana and caught the video late. Very nice yacht and video kids. Sorry I missed last week. I will have to go back and watch it. Missed you kids.
Hi Alan, welcome back! Hope you had a great vacay
very simply put together, effective and pleasant boat .... great price for this much boat.
