We are about to enter in bullet ( Engine ) era , however no one have courage to stand before this Black Beauty. Those beautiful engine sound taking me to my childhood. I am so lucky that I have experienced of this Big Boy. Miss u so much, come back again and make my childhood colourful again plz. Begging before you.

Missing a lot these locos. I traveled many times in my childhood as it was running from old Delhi to many places of Rajasthan, which even covered my native place. I traveled on the fastest trains as well like Pink city and ashram express of meter gauge. Travelling in such trains I cannot forget till last breath. Very unfortunate that now they are only memories for us and no more can be seen in future. But my wish to travel in such trains shall always be in my heart. Love them and miss them.

My uncle's late father used to tell me he was locomotive pilot in the Indian railways and he got this job in 1948.
The Coal Engines. I loved the Smoke when emerges out from chimney. And it's smell. The mechanism working. Loved The Big Coal Steam Engines. Missing my childhood.My Grandfather use to take me to the Railway Station just to have the glimpse of this Engines .

I have travelled from these steam locomotive train in 70's and 80's.
I also love to just look the Train.

Recollects my memories of the 1970s when I was a child and used to travel in these trains in Assam in the hills .. Nostalgia..

The YP was a classic looking loco . My cousins and many friends served on this good looking loco on the Southern Railway metre gauge section in Madras .

@@susaiyahraphael3881 yes my Dad started on steam and then transferred to electric trains on Tambaram Madras Beach line and served for 30 years as a motorman as they were called in those days . TBM was a beautiful place clean fresh air no traffic and it was Paradise . Yes I am settled in Australia but still miss my Madras especially TBM . Take care and stay safe .
@@judefernandez827 i too miss my old Madras. My brother settled in keilpauk and all his friends were Anglo Indians. All of them in Australia now. Remember Norman, Kenny and others.My brother too settled there but sadly passed away because of over booze.

My cousin was an auditor on Southern Railway but came to Australia and could not work because of drinking . Where are you living now ?

Lived in Udaipur during the steam engine era. Passed via Rana Pratap Nagar every day going to school. This is back I late 70s and early to mid 80s

This would probably be mid to late 90's. Broad gauge steam officially ended in India in 1995 and metre gauge in 2000. Ofcourse by the late 70's the decline had already started.

I have observed that almost all steam engines in India were having a set of three drive wheels.Where as in western countries steam engines are with the set of four to five drive wheels .Obviously those steam engine are more powerful. Anyway thanks for nice video. Also give the information about numbers of station,distance and time.
I still wish that diesel and steam locomotives work together

मेरी चाहत है कि वर्ष 1964 में बने मिनोल्टा कैमरे के साथ स्टीम ट्रेन में यात्रा करूं, देश के लोगों से मिलते जुलते फोटो लेते हुए, रास्ते में रेडियो सुनते सुनते समय आ जाये और अनन्त यात्रा पर निकल जाऊं।
Even Diesel is declining. Aim is to have almost 100% electrification and IR is quite close to achieving that goal. While existing diesel locomotives wouldn't be removed, they would possibly run thorough the end of their working life with new diesel locomotives not being introduced thus their nos diminishing gradually. Electricity is produced within India whereas a large bulk petroleum products including all fossil fuels are imported.

It is ridiculous that some of our friends are pleading for a restart of steam engines which were a source of the extreme air pollution and consumed a considerable amount of water,I would like to ask them a simple question , will they ever allow their children to become a loco driver of a steam engine
With the cureent salary of loco drivers, parents will ask railway to take their sons and daughter and use them as coal as long as they get salary. Thats how they crave for govt. Job.
Many wants to be chaprasi in railway , goo handlers, urine washer, gutka cleamers if it means permanent job. Thats how desperate they are.

मे कहा है.... आज रेल रेलवे, रेल स्टेशनो.. पर चकाचौंध तो है.. पर सूखा सूखा.. कुछ खोगया..एक अनजाना सूनापन लगता है... ।भारत के ब्यूरो कैसी ..नोकरशाही मे न जाने चमकदमक मे ही प्रगति विकास दिखाई देता है... यहाँ मैरे कथन का यह अर्थमत निकालिये की..हम नवीन तकनीकी से मूंह फेरे... नवीन ता लाईये ..पर कुछ ट्रेन को छूक छुक ही चलने दे इनके रखरखाव मे खर्चा तो आयेगा ..पर इन इंजनों से हम आजके युग भी ..बीते हुए कल को जी सकते हैं...।
