I've got the exact same boots that you have on. The video is super helpful. I just bought my f250 and need to fix this on my passenger side. Thank you for making the video

That part number is for the right front door BTW. Drivers side door is different (DJ6644) and cost more.

I wonder if the switch was backwards because they gave you the one that's for the passenger side.

Thanks was a helpful video, I'm surprised it didn't come to your mind especially considering earlier in the video you mentioned your not sure if there is different switches from driver to pass door. But that's what yours was "backwards" you had a passenger door one. Which I'm thinking someone probably has mentioned this in the video, but again. Was still helpful video, I've replaced a handful of these, but never specifically on this gen Ford so I always like to watch a video anytime I'm working on replacing a part that I've never done on that specific video and see If there's a anything helpful I can learn to make the job quicker. Thanks again!

Thanks man awesome video. I didn't think I'd be able to get the new one in blind but it was actually pretty easy to find the hole. You've just feel around a lil bit ; )

Thanks for making and posting this video!! I would have never figured out how to get that switch out and back in without it.

A year of the vehicle you're working on would be nice.

I know this is a year old now - but you have the passenger side switch - yes there is a driver side and a passenger side - different part numbers - that is why the old one turned different than the new one

I was told the replacement switches MUST BE the same color to verify it is for the same year/model - thanks for this video, my 02 Excursion has a Door Ajar alarm but the ODBII reader does not tell me which door?

I have the door ajar problem also. My windows won’t work; I’m thinking the sensor is breaking the connection to the windows. When I push any of my window switches they don’t work and the door ajar light comes on for the drivers door. Did you have any other functions not working because of the door sensor?

My truck won't lock from the inside when the truck is running because it thinks the door is open. As a 21-year-old female that's a safety issue for me.

@@johnniles7939 check the wires inside the boot that goes from door to cab. Probably a broken wire in there

Can it be disconnected. I really dont care to be notified my door is ajar. My dome light and cargo light stays on and the dinger keeps sounding when the door ajar warning light goes on every minute or so.

    • @BASgarage

I’m sure you could splice the two wires together.

I think I’m running into the issue to where my radio is not cutting off instantly when I turn the truck off because the door ajar switch is off
