I was really scared of ruining the wrap on the drum because of how hot it was outside those days. It was like 99-104 out those days. Thanks for watching!
It’s nice to know that there are options when restoring drums like this. Thanks for your hard work and care of this beautiful drum! I think I like the medium tuning the best.
Very good presentation and restoration! IMO, the snare drum really speaks best (and with authority) with the highest tuning, especially within the context of the other drums. (Nice sounding all around.) Tip: maybe consider a couple coats of clear nail polish over your newly-shined keystone badge to keep it nice and bright! Thanks for sharing.
The entire kit in the sound demo has Remo Ambassadors on it including the kick drum. I started with Evans and I'm transitioning back. Thanks for Watching!
Aluminum foil and water. Or 0000 steel wool will remove rust, dullness and grime off chrome surfaces. I almost never use chrome polish anymore because I found those methods get the job done faster.
It was a lot of work. But if it was to ever be needed you know it’s a method of doing so! Much safer than using lacquer thinner or sand paper. Thank you for watching!
Excellent! I went to UNT in the 80’s Percussion Performance major. Amazing experience and the TX sun will burn most everything! Nice restoration!!!

Bro this video is criminally underrated. The editing is perfect, keep up the good work!
Thank you for the kind words! There's more to come! Hope to push some more vids out very soon. Thank you for watching!
That was Gerard bendiks drum! He is a legend in the Dallas jazz scene.
I had no idea! I bought the drum at Musicgoround in DFW. I'll have to reach out to Gerard. Thank you for telling me this!
@@destination_percussion are you located in Dallas?
@@nimazarbin2103 Yes, I am located in the DFW area.
@@destination_percussion I have a Ludwig WMP that needs this restoration. Would you be willing to do it for me? I’m in Dfw too. 😊
@@nimazarbin2103 We can work something out! email me at destination.percussion@gmail.com. Send some pictures for me please. Thank you!
Wow just like new ✨✨🥁

My favorite tuning is on the higher side. I tend to play a lot of bebop on this drum. Feels and sounds great for the style. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the advice! Totally agree on the tuning. I personally love the way it sounds tuned higher. Thanks for watching and happy holidays!
Super cool to see this drum brought back to life, and also great playing!
Thanks for watching!
Haha Rick Dior cameo awesome
Lol "It smells like Bananas". I love Rick's work! I'm looking to buy some of his sticks soon. Thanks for Watching!
@@destination_percussion Rick Dior is my favorite drumming site. Have his book. I want his custom sticks also. Thank you for your Excellent video!
Evans heads are perfect for vintage drums. I’m more of a Remo guy… Vintage Ctd Emperors 4life… but if your old drum is oversized… ANY Evan’s will fit.

Rick is a legend! I love his vids and the pieces he writes. Thank you for watching!
That’s a hell of a lot of work to get rid of some yellowing Not worth the time and effort!! Yellowing gives the drums character!!!
