    Dude! Thank you so much for this! I am a proud owner of sunset satin flame. I didn't wanna touch it because of fear. This video is the most helpful I have watched in a long long time. Thank you for this.

    I just love your videos. As a senior citizen and player for 50+ years ...and a novice collector...it does my heart good to see younger folks showing love to older drums. You have quite the collection! Please keep up the great content for all us drum nerds. Many thanks Shawn!

    Nice job of cleaning man. That is a very cool wrap design worth saving. Nothing wrong with not being able for them to turn out perfect.

    Wow, this is great. I've always heard about Scrubbing Bubbles and Eraser... but watching this is super helpful. I've got a 12 14 20 Camco "Moire" kit that I might have to do this to. Even though I've lived in Nashville for 40 years, your accent makes me miss New England (specifically Providence), where I started. Love the fast forward edits, too. Thanks!

    Damn they cleaned up well! 303 Aerospace protectant should help prevent the wrap drying out/cracking more, but test it on an inconspicuous area incase it’s not compatible or something.

    I frkn love this finish. Bucketlist drums for me. I even love all the defects. I personally love old beat up drums. Of course I clean them up also as best as I can. But scratches and dings… I didn’t do it. So I don’t feel bad about it. I love potted Supras too.

    Great video man. Would you recommend the magic erasers on old and yellowed Ludwig oyster wraps?

    • @shawnsdrumcave
      @shawnsdrumcave  Рік тому +1

      thank you! And I can't as I've never tried it. I have a whole different methods for wraps, You could definitely try under a bracket in a hidden spot. I would just start with cleaning it with lightly dampened sponge with dawn/water, see how much of the yellow is nicotine/dust or krud kutter is safe on wraps too. if it's yellowing in the wrap it's a good amount of work for varying degrees of outcome.

    Shawn - I have owned a late 1970's Slingerland kit 6 piece kick and toms, no snare came with it - since I bought it brand new. Do you have any idea where I can get a reso head for the 24" bass with the Slingerland name on it? The original was white with black script lettering. Also, what they sold a young ignorant guy (me) was a Ludwig 6 1/2 X 14 wood symphonic snare with individually tunable snare wires. It was interesting but not the 8" x 14" snare sound I wanted at the time. Anyway, love you channel. Thank you.

    • @shawnsdrumcave
      @shawnsdrumcave  Рік тому

      I usually look on eBay randomly and see if there's any original heads for a decent price (under $50) if you look once in while they pop up but good deals go quick. if I can't find anything I buy remo smooth white head, remove the remo logo with nail polish remover or lacquer thinner and ad a decal off of eBay.
      Nice set! I have several Slingerlands
      Great drums and yeah I'm not a fan of the P87 stainer and the individual wires or the super sensitives for that matter. I like a simple strainer and wires and thank you! Thanks for watching.
