There is a big difference between what you learn in business school, and what you need to know in the real world - just ask any startup founder or business owner! My goal is to focus on the real-world aspects of business, giving practical tips and tricks that are not usually covered in school.
This channel is a platform to help entrepreneurs and business owners succeed. It is also to help the world at large to be more effective and successful. The world can certainly use more inspiring leaders, more successful entrepreneurs, and more capable managers - that is what I would like to help bring about.
Who Am I?
I am a practicing management consultant, former CEO, and entrepreneur. I have led many businesses to success, as well as several startups. Among other things, I have an engineering degree, an MBA, a master's degree in finance, and a master black belt in lean six sigma.
I have worked across five industries, and have worked in both large enterprise and small businesses. In the last five years, I have also been mentoring startup founders and teaching business at a post-graduate level.
Why I Want To Involve My Community:
The only way this channel will succeed is with YOUR help. In order to know how best to proceed, I need constant feedback from YOU. What topics should I cover? What challenges are you facing? What questions do you have? What changes should I make?
Please contact me with questions, and I will try my best to help. Best of luck!
Thank you for being here and reading this, and have yourself an amazing day!

Thanks hey
That example of yours nice and short.
Man you’re good. I’ve been asked these questions and just fumbled around trying to answer them. This the most worthwhile channel on UA-cam.
2020 version: "5 years ago i certainly haven´t seen myself sitting at home for 6 months. Therefore blind predictions are irrelevant and this information holds no value to you."
That would make me judge you as presumptuous.
@@Antilli Point is that unnecessary predictions usually lead to false goals and promises, of which the then sense of unachievement harbors the gateway to depression. As those predictions and self-set goals cripple the mindset for present opportunities. Therefore i´d rather predict my next day on a daily basis while creating contingency plans in case of failure on the fly. As having a plan B,C,D,E,F usually leads to failure of plan A to begin with.
@@Animefan1803 I fully agree with you. That does not mean that I would like the response as a recruiter.
@@Antilli It´s true what they say about recruiters huh? Ya gits really have no sense of humor.
@@Antilli r/woosh
Just think - everyone who answered that question in 2015 - EVERYONE - was wrong.
No...not at all!
I wasn't. if you're humble enough. life is too complex to pin down to a story. you have to be honest, and clear with your self. instead of feeling pressured and having to make something up to the other person. one day at a time and being flexible.
In 2015, I actually was looking for remote working due to long commutes. I didn't want EVERYONE to remote work though, sorry.
I was planning to become senior software developer in 2020 back in 2015. Actually that happened...the only difference I am remote software dev.
🤣
Wow I’m not even searching for the job and it’s still fun to watch it! No BS, straight to the point, easy and fun.
same here =)
"I don't think of the future--It comes soon enough." Albert Einstein
Nowadays, I no longer worry about the future. Things don't turn out the way you think they will anyway.
In my opinion, worrying about it is a waste of time.
Been out of the job market for a long time and looking to move from a “job” to a “career” and this series has helped tremendously with my ability to field some of those trickier questions that get asked. “Tell me about yourself” and “where do you see yourself…” are some of the most terrifying and this guy NAILS it.
Just wanted to say thank you. I have watched all these videos, and they have helped tremendously. As a 'veteran' in my field, I thought I knew the best way to handle interviews, but turns out I don't. I approached things the incorrect way. I since adjusted my interview strategy and have now advanced into the final rounds at a potential company! Thanks again!
Congratulations, Allan! Best of luck!!
I once answered this question with "Asking that very same question to the person I will be interviewing"
I got the job.
Damn ... they hired u to replace themselves lol
Great high standards. I see what you did right there 💪🏽👏🏼👌🏽
some websites caution against saying this lol
Smooth...
Half way through my 10 year plan
😂😂😂
That you say, “but I can’t tell you that plan” (secretly, you’re channeling Pinky and the Brain)
I had a job interview that was exactly like this; an interrogation. One of the interviewers, the Security Manager for an Aerospace/Manufacturing company, was a retired police Detective. I felt like I was going to be arrested and put in jail after that interview for not confessing to a crime I did not commit. All of the questions were part of a script they used on every candidate to compare scores. I failed the interview miserably because I wasn't prepared for some of the questions. It was a great learning experience, even though I did not get the job.
Awwww 🥺
Same feeling.
Haha! 😂 That sounds awful.
My answer to that is ' 5 years from now, i see myself still working in this company as one of you best employees'
I love how succinct you are and the advice can be easily be tailored for different situations, when employment becomes a thing again.
Seriously Bill, you're channel is really the best when it comes to Job prep. Thank you so so much...
Last time I got this question, I answered that I wanted to keep learning, pursue evening classes to prepare for (higher diploma, certification) in the field that the recruiter was currently recruiting me for. Even if 5 years is not the exact time frame for that in most cases, it worked well for the interview, got the job.
In tech, 5 years is effectively an eternity. If you don’t keep learning, you don’t keep earning. Apple came out with the Swift programming language in 2014 (thanks, Apple, for making the name be effectively unsearchable!) and I’ve joked if you want to learn a new programming language every year, learn Swift! It is evolving that fast.
I figured out by that point that sooner or later Apple would be using their own processors in the Mac lineup, and that is now the case, bur they’re performing better than I would have expected compared to Intel/AMD chips.
There are so many things that have arrived in this last 5 years in my realm I couldn’t predict, though, let alone the timeframe. I don’t foresee that fact changing!
I love how brief but on point the replies that you provided...no sugar coating.. thank sir...more power...
So I started watching you about a month ago and have been applying to jobs, just got done with an interview and I can not stress enough how helpful this series has been. Thank you
That's great to hear, Chris - glad it's working out!!
@@TheCompaniesExpert got the job!
@@mrbleek2910 Congratulations, Chris!!
I appreciate how you use your hands in your speeches to us.
Yes. Finally! Someone acknowledged that job interviews can feel like interrogations.
In my experience here in my country, interviewers look at me funny when I ask them questions back even before the customary “ do you have any questions?” And it makes for awkward moments in some cases. 😂
A friend was interviewing at a law firm and got the "where in 5 years" question. He said he hoped to be a farmer. Funny, but he didn't get the job.
I just like how always give answers with clear example ,you keep me watching you evry now and then
I agree 100% on the turn the interview into a conversation.
It allows one to connect with a human being that will eventually be your boss (providing you’re not just doing a HR interview) and let’s them get to know you as a person.
That’s really important.
Make "Myself in 5 years" an item in your resume and save a ton of time.
Smart !!
Lmao that’s hilarious , I might legit try that, at the very least it will make my resume stand out and get a laugh
By far the BEST and most INTELLIGENT look at the HR side of the business.
Great hints and wisdom.
Always finish your answer with a question. I think this is the most important concept. This gives you control over the situation. Otherwise you are a sheep ready to be slaughtered by the interviewer.
These questions are always included in interviews. Very helpful series.
I nailed both first round and second interview bcz I watched this video. I work in an investment banking industry. Thank you Bill
I found this guy a day ago and i already love him! His energy is beautiful
Amongst all the interview qna channel I've seen here on youtube, this would be the best one for me. Tysm for this, Sir. 😇😍❤
Worth subscribing. Thanks for making it easy for us to tackle most of the tricky questions.
I have my own company but after watching your videos, I feel like going to an interview just to answer as you recommended.
Thank you so much, I have interview later 8pm it is my first job interview🥺❤️
End up here from F1 but now I’m watching all of your videos. Good jobs.
Dang son ... nice, very few channels bringing these things. Thanks, and continue with the content.
Wow! We've all fumbled on that question. This is good...👌🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Man! I click your vids blindly knowing it’s lucrative! Thanks & keep ‘em coming 🙏🙏
This guy is amazing. I learned a lot from just a few videos. Thank you
All I know is every time I watch this guy and hear this background music, I get hired every time! Thank you!
Great stuff. Short, to the point and entertaining at the same time. You taught and old girl a lot in a span of the few videos I’ve watched so far. I wish this was around years ago when I was younger. It is tougher to get hired or change jobs in general when you are older these days and being an immigrant makes it even tougher. Maybe you can do a video on each of these two subjects for us? Thanks and keep the up the fantastic work🤩.
Been doing the complete opposite of this and giving LOTS of information to this! Thanks for the tips.
Thanks Bill! I’ve been looking for great content like this for years. I’m a subscriber for life brother. Keep up the great work! Much love from Chicago.
Thanks, Vibe! Cheers!
@@TheCompaniesExpert Ditto 💯
Thank you once again for these interview tips. They have been very helpful!
I’ve probably answered this one wrong every time, until now. Thanks so much
Great videos you do! Crisp and to the point, perfect!
Honestly I wish I found your page last year ,I have applied for multiple jobs in my area that I am qualified for, gotten into interviews but no call backs, wish high school focused more on real world skills like this. Thankyou for the advice and I look forward to going into my next I interview with the confidence I didnt have before
Five years ago: "I see myself in a giant lock down, the government paying me to stay home... oh...and the host of Celebrity Apprentice is the President."
🤣🤣
And the next President will be a mindless feeb. Did you call that one? 😂😂😂
And don’t forget Tiger king!
You're the best. I'm gonna watch all your videos. Thank you
These videos are linguistically interesting. Appreciate you.
I'll either be running my own business, or have a great deal more responsibility at my current job. Seems to have held true so far.
Imagine to answer:"Doctor said I have 3/4 years left. So I definitely know where I will be in 5 years."
I am imagining the recruiter face
I am loving these tips, thanks!
I once had a colleague tell us his story about a job interview he had, and they asked him that question, to which he replied "president of the company". He says they never contacted him after the interview.
He shot for the stars and didn’t make it off the ground: oops!
The way of your delivery and presentation is fun to watch [in a good way] and, yeah, thanks)
///
Most useful video I watched in weeks, thanks
I would tend to put back the human there first so :
1) happy in my work, in my company and the challenges we face together
2) Surely having progressed further in my skills, knowledge, and perhaps in managerial position based on my performance, still in this specific domain that is my passion
3) And i would really like to return the question, what are the actual company goals on mid and long terms ?
(You're the one who is awesome Mister Former CEO. Thank you so much. Hope you're doing well)
I have an interview tomorrow and Been preparing though your videos, thanks 💓
Always great insight and advice
Your videos are fantastic. Thank you, sir!
This is so useful. Thanks a million!
Thank you so much I watched your videos a day before my interview. And they hired me ♥️
Way to go, Aires!
Thanks for sharing and your time
you do a very good job on your videos, fun to listen to
Thank you for this, I have an interview tomorrow morning 🙏👍
Omg I really Love your videos! Very Helpful.. I learned alot and Also im learning English at the same time.. thank you so much!
Sir, This information is very helpful! Thank you!
Very apt answer. Good reasoning as to what the interviewer is looking at. Another point to add is they may also be looking at if you have high bar for yourself - to see if you have the fire. Again, very good ans.
I just like to listen how you talk. The topic matters too though. But your expression and voice and other stuff is hypnotizing.
Brilliant advice!
This video is facts. Don't tell them your plans, dreams and goals because they really only want reassurance that they won't have to replace you any time soon.
thanks a lot youre awesome all the interviews i went to went smoothly with your advice
You are truly awesome!
Thank you so much sir
I like your interview questions answers its very easy and understandable
When I think back to some of my past performances at job interviews it is a miracle maybe that I ever got a job let alone a series of jobs over many years. Seriously. This question used to scare the hell out of me. I used to just try to wing some job interviews I think. So maybe I am luckier than I will ever realise. I have had bad and good jobs. They all add up though. Now I need to put all this experience together and make sense of it all. That is my next and greatest challenge ever !
"Considering world domination is a multi-decade undertaking, I expect to be half way of conquering Poland and France for an early economic boost, at that stage."
Wow this is great. Thank you
Celebrating the 5th anniversary of you asking me this question
You Sir are awesome 👏🏼
You’re the best 🙏 😊 Thank you !!!
Good reply!
Wow..thnx man..very useful info
4 years ago, I interviewed for an internship with a real estate company. Long story short, they asked me this questions and I told them I want to start and hopefully own a successful business..... He literally told me "that's a terrible questions and normally we would have turn you down" I still get the job since it was free labor for them but yeah, don't be me 4 years ago .
I incorporated my private plans for the future into this question as well and I got the job :D
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
"in your chair"
And 5 years later my cousin sat in the interviewers chair.
Burn🔥
I like this guy 👍🏽 Thanks for the good advice ✅
I don't even run a company, but I would hire this guy
This is Gold...
Haven't subbed to a channel in over a year
Just subbed to you
On my last job interview, I was not really prepared for this question. I was a bit naive and also the position was supposed to be for a limited time to do only one specific project at the company. I just answered that I would like to take the role as technical lead, which is not a smart answer given that the technical lead was basically my main interview partner. In essence I told him that I want to take his job. I got the job anyways and he left the company even before I had my first day, because the technical lead wanted to become team leader and the company just didn't see him in this position. So, that happened 4.5 years ago. Now, I am technical lead for 2 years or so and this year I will become team leader. So, I didn't only got his job as I said I would do in the job interview, but I even got the job that he wasn't able to get.
Oh wow! I just say that I intend to be running the team or the department. I guess that is coming on strong and I should ask more questions.
man you are a legend
I have never in my life thought about 5 years from now.
Lol don't tell THEM that.
this is intresting to watch even though im still 17 and is not relevant to me , but i guess this broadens my vision of the outside world
You're really awesome.... Great videos and explanation!! ❤️
I had one query.....
When the interviewer asks "what are your future plans?", can we go about like "I want to start building my own technology after gaining enough experience etc. (like starting a company of my own that may or may be similar to what my hiring manager's company actually does)....
Or am I digging my own grave here by hinting that I may not be a long term candidate in his company and just wanting some experience?
Thank God for youttube. I fail job interviews because I didn't have this knowdledge
Definitely recommend this video 🙂
This is superb!!
👍😍
My response to my current employer was directly to the person who asked me the question “ I asked him what his position was?” He was the deputy, so I told him sitting in his seat. Everyone laughed but him. Got the job but he held it against me until he finally was forced to retire last year.
Hahaha 👍You're Awesome! It make sense to me now. Practical, but very intellectual.
I'm a driver, I'm a winner
Things are gonna change, I can feel it
