I bought some parchment paper liners that have small side walls but no holes in them. They keep the basket and pan completely clean! They are very light and thin, so need the weight of the food on them to keep them in place. They seem to absorb any grease from the food. Very pleased with them.

    Thanks Cathy!
I’ve never had to use oil on my silicone mats for ANYTHING!
Also, to avoid scrubbing your silicone mats, just chuck it in your sink with a bit of hot water and dish soap, and let it soak for a few minutes. It comes out perfectly every time!!!
Finally…. I hate using non-reusable products. So no paper for me!!! Especially since parchment can’t be composted!
    😊

Cathy, I received your cookbook yesterday and I am flabbergasted. It is so much MORE than I expected. The quality of the printing and the paper, plus the ring binding makes the Quality Score off the charts. It is too soon for me to have tested your recipes; I have been using your recipes and suggestions for some time. Another thing you should know...my husband-a born sceptic- sat and looked through each page of the book. He is one of the - if it ain't broke, don't fix it - guys and he is slowly warming up to the air fryer and even likes his pork chops and schnitzel cooked there. I am excited about using this recipe book and considering giving some as Christmas gifts. Thanks for the time and effort it took to compile all these exciting recipes and for helping me learn to use my air fryer.

I am frugal. I store all my used napkins and paper towels in an old upright tissue box. I then use them to wipe oil, sauces, and such before washing with soap & sponge. That means little oil going down my sink and no food bits in my sponge.
I use a silicone mat (resale purchase) I cut to size, no holes, when I have small pieces or gooey things that will go through the tray holes, especially the larger center hole. Works for me! I thought about adding little holes but haven't.

This is exactly the video I needed. Was considering silicone mats versus paper liners and leaning toward the silicone. However, after watching your video, I think the paper liners would better fit my needs. Thank you.
Well, after using my air fryer for over a year now, I have to say that I like both parchment paper liners for some things and the silicone mat for other things, but mostly I just use the crisper grid/plate alone. The "crisper plate" seems to have the non-stick coating wearing off of it's high points. This doesn't seem to be affecting performance, so not too big a deal. Perhaps if I had used either of the liners more often, it might have saved the wear and tear on the crisper plate. I am using liners more now in hopes of extending the life of the plate. When I bought my air fryer, I read complaints across many makers that you couldn't order parts like a new crisper plate, or drawer. I will not buy a whole new unit just because the crisper plate is a little worn. Haven't looked into it lately, but hope the manufacturers have fixed this and offer replacement parts in case it gets damaged beyond use. (Like I dropped the empty drawer on the floor and bent it slightly out of square. Yikes. But was able to gently encourage it back into shape and it looks and works perfect.
LOVE my 6qt drawer-type air fryer! My toaster oven that I used for years is in the storage cabinet. I can make things like baked salmon without heating up the big oven. I use it every day. I like the drawer type over the ones that look like a toaster oven because I can just take the drawer to the sink, remove the crisper plate and swish it out and use a brush on the plate and with dish soap, of course. I could put it in the dishwasher, but why. How could I put the toaster oven style air fryer in the sink and swish it out? lol. So I like the drawer style for ease of cleaning and they seem to have a smaller "footprint" on my counter and space is at a premium there. It lives happily next to my pressure cooker.

I don't want to wash anything, the reason for buying the parchment paper. Silicone mats just make things the same, and since it causes slow cooking, there is no reason to use them as I can cook party wings nice and well done in 15 minutes on Broil! Thanks for this video.

I just discovered air fryer parchment paper and it's a game changer for me. I'm about to move into my truck camper and start traveling full time. My campers fresh water tank only holds 39 gallons of water, so water conservancy is super important for me. The parchment paper I bought doesn't have holes in it, which means when I take it out my air fryer is completely clean. I love it!

I would like to have the silicon mats for multi uses at once because my air fryer is a bit small. I think if you checked the parchment paper foods first the temp would have been lower because the heat just stayed in longer after it was turned off. As far as the grease/leakage the parchment paper had far less holes and that's probably why there's not as much leaking out!😊 Just saying...❤ Thanks for all of the very useful and helpful videos!

When I first got my air fryer I tried the parchment liners. I didn't find them to be very useful. Since then I haven't been using any liners. I find that the bottom of the food cooks nearly the same as the top of the food, using no liners. I recently tried silicone and found it didn't cook the bottom as well as no liner. I don't even have to toss french fries for them to be crispy all around and most foods crisp well top and bottom. I found the silicone to be more difficult to clean than the basket of the fryer. So I intend to keep using my fryer naked. I've had my air fryer for about a year and a half and the nonstick surface cooks great and cleans up great.

Honestly I was really hoping that you would cook something really messy and show us the results. Like for example barbecue chicken which the barbecue sauce always gets baked on to my rack and it's so hard to clean. Between your two choices here I would definitely go with the silicone because there's less problems with food sticking and even though there is no problem on paper paper doesn't work well in my air fryer.

Hi fabfruggy, keep sharing your good advice. You make my 5 year old airfryer look antique, so here's an antique tip for healthy fast food: SOAKING!!!! MEANING: put a bit of the cheapest plain rice or pasta or noodle or oatmeal in a bowl , add boiling water till thumbnail quantity over it, plate over it, soak for hour or night in kabinet, not fridge(used to be put under blanket to heat the bed) when it's soaked Chuck it into airfryer, add salsa, or curry or whatever sauce over it, 2 min. High and ready fast food, optional large fruitsalad with it.

Um, I thought your supposed to have one in your kitchen anyway. Grease fires happen. Things burn, pans under muffin tins get forgotten etcetera. I think where I live in Ontario Canada, it's a bylaw or fire law whatever to have one renters must provide one and it's recommended by fire fighters as well.

As a side note...I use sheets of aluminum foil in the bottom of my air fryer (below the basket). It collects crumbs and drips for easy cleanup. You can also use plain parchment paper but the foil is nice because it can form it up the edges a little and stop any juices from getting underneath plus you can buy already cut sheets and just fold it over to best fit your air fryer. Easy peasy, lol!
