    Instead of a conversion chart, multiply oven times and/or oven temperatures by 0.8. That is based on your chart.

    Enjoyed the air fryer 'accessories' video and found it most informative. Would like a review of the Ninja Speedi air frier and its double element (one fan assisted at the top and a second at the bottom) heating for the food. Great for rice, pasta, lentils etc, just pour in dry then pour on water and add some frozen veg. Stir, turn on for approx 15 minutes and ready meal!

    Very nice review. I have one of the shelf based air fryers - looks like a mini conventional oven. 3 racks but not a huge amount of 'clearance' between them if you use all 3. To stop cross contamination the urge is to put food on the top / middle / higher rack on some kind of baking tray. That's fine BUT make sure that your baking tray or rack allows plenty of air flow around it otherwise the stuff at the bottom won't cook and you will probably overheat the electronics in the top of the air fryer. I found some really sturdy stainless baking trays with racks (on Amazon) that occupy maybe 60% of the shelf / rack. I also found a 4 'pot' yorkshire pudding tin that occupies the full dimensions of the air fryer... that goes on the bottom(not even on a rack) then the middle rack has protein on a tray and the top shelf gets roast potatoes, parsnips etc. - I'm using a Sunday lunch example. You might get away with fabricating a suitable size tray from heavy aluminium foil but it does need to be pretty weighed down with food or it will act as a sail and lift off. I have also found a number of ceramic dishes etc. that fit just fine so fish pies, lasaggne etc. are easy to do but I tend to put them on the lowest rack to avoid overheating the electronics - you can always stick some garlic bread on the top shelf for the last 10 or 15 mins of cooking.

    I like the silicon bakeware but I do have to agree with you on the heat transfer issue.I'm new to Air Frying so I'm still just dipping my toe in with main meals and snack foods at the moment. Saying that I've just realised I used the main oven this morning to cook spare ribs instead of the Air Fryer. I now microwave my pasties/sausage rolls for a minute or 2 then put them in the Air Fryer for the pre-heat cycle to crisp them up, no-one likes soggy pastry from the microwave.

    Great tutorial on air fryer accessories. Yes, I bought quite a few that I just didn't use. The the flat grease proof liners are very useful. They don't catch everything, but they do most of the heavy lifting. What I do use all the time, though, is a heavy duty cake tin that fits perfectly into my Cosori air fryer. It conducts heat very well, is easy to clean, and practically bullet-proof.
    Regarding the silicone accessories, well, as you say, a nightmare to clean, and just terrible at conducting heat.

    If using baking parchment to 'line' your air fryer put the parchment under the cold water tap, then scruch it in your hand to wring out the water, pop this into the air fryer. This helps to stop the parchment from flapping around.

    Great review! I found that the rack for my Instant Pot works in my air fryer! It's a bit smaller but it does work if I ever find I need one. (They're helpful, too, in holding down parchment paper.) Like you've pointed out for several of these, we might already have something in our kitchen that will work rather than purchasing something especially for an AF.
    On the spray oil, I have read that as long as it's a non-aerosol spray pump that only contains the oil, then they're safe to use. I have found several of these locally. I use the spray pumps with only avocado oil, no propellent or anything else.

    I've just been spending an inordinate amount of time researching a reliable oil spray bottle which actually sprays a mist rather than a solid stream of oil. • @CandidClara

    I haven’t joined the air fryer generation. I just do what my mother and grandmother did when they put the oven on… fill it up with food which will be eaten later in the week. It works out just as cheap and you gain in time throughout the week.

    • @Siberius-
      @Siberius- 6 місяців тому +2

      Not as cheap. Oh, you mean due to cooking in bulk. Yea in that case an oven may be required, if the bigger dual air fryers aren't enough. Or a benchtop oven...
      Though even then, it won't be much more (potentially) energy to use the air fryer even twice, over an oven.
      Some things just don't fit in an air fryer... and other times you just don't need to cook all that much food. Not every food-cooking session is a big meal-planning cook-up.

    • @Loracanne
      @Loracanne 4 місяці тому +2
