  • A woman whose teeth were all pulled is able to smile again after getting a full set of dental implants at the Smile Again Dental clinic in Garland, Texas, on January 22.
    In heart-rending video by Dr Kenny Wilstead, his patient Brittany Negler describes how her dental, general and mental health started to decline when her brother died of cancer at 18.
    “I went into a dark place, I’m not gonna lie. I started hanging out with the bad kids, I started doing drugs to numb the feeling,” Negler says.
    During this time, Negler says she had all her teeth removed, but expresses doubt as to whether this was a necessary procedure. Looking at her dental report in the video, Wilstead says he doesn’t see “anything here about why they would need to pull all your teeth.”
    “I can’t eat, I can’t gain weight. I was so close to getting a feeding tube. I don’t leave the house anymore,” Negler says.
    After her procedure, a transformed Negler cries tears of joy and embraces Winstead. “At the Smile Again Foundation, we help those the world has forgotten by giving them back their smiles. And most often, their lives,” Winstead told Storyful.

    • @TheKnives777
      @TheKnives777 5 місяців тому +1

      @@mintyoli6460 it was actually 2 bridges, the front teeth are connected to the left and right lateral incisors. It's easier to floss that way and I use the G.U.M dental picks after I brush or eat, got a little carrying case with the purchase, so you can stash them all over. My dentist didn't want to do a full bride because he said the teeth will have room to shift and settle over time and the full bridge might cause me discomfort or pain, so he opted for the 2 instead of a full dental bridge. I'm sorry your bridge is giving you issues, are you in pain?

      I initially sought treatment for my bottom four teeth, hoping for an affordable fix. In Juarez, Dr. Barrandey assured me she'd work within my budget. However, the experience turned into a nightmare - they held me down, extracted my teeth, performed grafting, and implanted 12 titanium posts without addressing my initial concerns. After enduring this, she demanded $12,000. Months later, she quoted an additional $18,000 for bridges. As a struggling individual, this has deeply impacted my life. I'm left with temporary dentures, facing emotional and physical struggles. My once vibrant public life has become a daily challenge. 😢 I haven't been able to find gainful employment, unable to eat, and every day my face is losing shape. I've been driving for Uber, hoping for better days, but the triple gas and maintenance costs are draining. I can't live this way anymore and have become severely depressed with little will to keep going. Please say a prayer for me. Pray that I can regain my smile and overcome this silent daily pain soon. 😪 Thank you for your time and for reading my story. 🙏

      Yup. I hate to admit this but I struggled my entire youth with severe anxiety and developed ptsd from having not great teeth. For me it wasn't trying to look good or better. But you can see people staring at your teeth while you talk. You know how hard it is for a young 15 yr old boy to accept the fact that a girl likes him from afar. Walks up to him. And literally changes her whole entire vibe. When she sees you smile or act shy because you dont want to smile. Or even worse she starts going out with your best friend.. and the only differen he got is a nice smile? It's devastating. Really broke my confidence. Thats just one example same thing thing job interviews or just every social interactions. Took me till I was 21 until I could save up money and afford those ridiculous godam prices for fake veneers. And this was back in 2011. Damn shame

      @DiabolicalGardyloo Yeah I'm almost 30 with a genetic issue that made my teeth really soft...so doing something as simple as brushing with an adult toothbrush breaks the enamel. Most of them are broken to the gum now, but I don't have insurance and every dentist in my area wants $25k up front to do anything...I have 4 kids at home, so that's not a feasible task. 😭
      So I can't eat anything crunchy....I got an egg mcmuffin a while back and it broke 2 teeth just where the bun was toasted.

      The dentist did nothing wrong. Long term meth addicts can have tooth decay so severe that leaving them in can cause massive uncontrollable infection. If you want to blame anyone, don't blame the dentist, blame our judicial system that is soft on crime and lets drug dealers and users loose with not even a slap on the wrist. This would have never happened in Singapore where they have mandatory death penalty for drug dealers, as when she was in a dark place she wouldn't have drugs pushed on her as it just doesn't even exist in circulation. Demand your lawmakers stop enabling drug users, and start implementing tough love policies.

Crime and drug use increase with population density as a rule of thumb, and yet Singapore despite being the most population dense country in the world is also the lowest crime rate country in the world, with essentially non-existent drug use where drug offenses are usually years apart. Despite starting off as a small fishing village, these policies have helped produce a per capita GDP 466% higher than the world average of $65,233 which is very high for South East Asia. The Chinese empire was the longest enduring prosperous nation in the world, and it even endured the Mongolian conquest that captured more of the world than any other, and yet what finally completely destroyed its economy and led to mass famine and collapse was the mass introduction of opium. Drugs rot a society from the inside out, and you've made it clear you're part of the problem and one of the drug enablers that is more likely to give a drug addict on the side of the road $10 than to call the police and have them arrested so that they can be cleaned, thinking you're doing the right thing while killing someone and being no different than if you had poisoned them yourself.

I too, had very poor teeth, and took even worse care of mine. I did have all of my upper teeth pulled, and a full upper denture done, and a partial lower denture done as well.
