    Just for future reference you're not supposed to use flexibles like TPU in the AMS unit.
    Edit:
    Thank you for posting these types of videos. It's thanks to your contribution that others may service their machines etc in the future. Especially if they don't have a technical background or experience.

      It really comes to my original goal of making this channel. My self comes with an engineer background but still have hard time starting with 3d printing as a newcomer to this hobbit. So a lot of those videos are really focused on beginners and some more of prevent beginner's common user errors.
      It ended up taking me so much time to produce videos like these, and review numbers are predictable low. But as long as it helps people and I see positive feedback, I will still do it.
      That is what I like 3d printing, open source, and the community are the charm of this hobbit.

    Great video, thanks! The hardest part about this is reattaching the filament tube back into the AMS. I did it wrong 5 times before I got it right. The alignment isn't the best, and it is hard to feel it. I would hope they can make that better in version 2 ... I would hope that the connection to the AMS could somehow be "hardened" to ensure it would go in the 1st time. Otherwise, spot on. My clog was the result of it finishing a spool, and the end of the spool had a kink in it where the filament inserted into the spool. That kink got jammed in the AMS feed gear.

    Very useful video. The question for me is, why does PLA clog on the AMS return pull? I'll have it clog with Creality PLA (the same clear spool you showed at :30), which I thought was the spool's fault, but I transferred it to a Bambu spool and it still clogged. It's totally fine PLA otherwise. The Bambu spool with Creality filament wasn't perfectly wound (but not that bad either) so my only guess is that it needs a very well balanced Bambu spool to work properly. Why though? The Creality spool seems to roll and grip just fine.

    • @SvgLau
      @SvgLau 11 місяців тому

      I have two types of filament from creality using that style of spool. Ender series always works fine, HP series always snaps within the system and cause issues. So, for my guess, is that the fialments cause issues instead of spool in this case. Cuz I know my HP series filament is wet and always snap randomly. If you have filament dryer, try to dry your creality filament first, and it might be helpful.

    • @SvgLau
      @SvgLau 11 місяців тому

      I also found that when the creality spool near empty. It sometimes get lift by the gear pulling the filament. There is a mod online called "AMS helper" might help with this, it may help with your situation.

    • @one_mega_ohm9139
      @one_mega_ohm9139 11 місяців тому +2

      @@SvgLau I don't think it's a lifting problem since I have had it happen with almost full spools. I finally had it happen with a nicely wound roll of Overture on a Bambu spool so now I sort of think it's an AMS defect. It still could be the PLA, but it's hard to convince me of that since the PLA it happens with works and feels completely fine otherwise. I did find that if I tug on the filament lightly while it's "retrying" the pull, then it catches and pulls fine, so that's at least a plus and again makes me think it's an AMS "catching" issue.

    • @BrandoDrum
      @BrandoDrum 10 місяців тому +2

      @@one_mega_ohm9139I'm having this exact same issue. My PLA Plus is NOT breaking, fraying, warping or anything. But somehow the AMS will fail to pull it back. If I completely turn off and reinstall the AMS though it manages to do full calibration just fine, it's as if the motor in the AMS is not getting full power during retract at the end of the print but works fine elsewhere. I am getting some underextrusion though which is concerning.

    • @classroom_jams
      @classroom_jams 9 місяців тому

      @@one_mega_ohm9139 I am having the same thing happen! I'm using Bambu PLA, Amazon basics, etc. I tried all kinds of spools. It's def not that. The tugging thing you describe is exactly what I have to do like every 5 min. SO FRUSTRATING.

    • @SvgLau
      @SvgLau 10 місяців тому +2

      there are some upgrade you can do to potentially to fix this issue. It all basically relate to the pefe tube feeding system. I will make one update video in few days to talk about it.

    • @BrandoDrum
      @BrandoDrum 10 місяців тому +2

      I'm having the same exact issue. Seems to be excessive friction in the AMS which has nothing to do with clogging. Mine is less than a month old, but in slots 3 and 4 the retract after a print fails often and I'm also getting a little underextrusion which creates weak but functional parts. Sadly parts I cannot sell for my business. I think the PTFE feeding has some extreme sensitivity to the friction of a filament has passing through.

I checked all tubes and even the nozzle and the filament reaches the nozzle no problem, in fac if I detach the tube from the nozzle, the filament keeps on flowing to it indefinitely, but once it reaches the nozzle hole it stops and goes back. there is nothing stuck in there,i checked multiple times, even with a little neelds to see if there was a little particle of the previous filament but nothing, what i need to do?

    我已经手动把堵住的料清理了但是它必须要我unload。根本没有料它也unload不出来。然后会继续抱错。有没有办法让ams强制认为某一个槽已经空了哇?
    for my english speaking friends: I had a clog and removed manually. But AMS still thinks there’s material in that slots and keeps trying to “unload” where there isn’t anything already. It will always error out during unload saying stuck filament when there isn’t anything to begin with. Is there anyway to hardsreset ams?

    Good tutorial, but my filament, in this case ninjaflex, is not releasing when I push down hammer. any ideas ?

    • @SvgLau
      @SvgLau 9 місяців тому

      So, if I got you problem right. When you push down the leveler, but you not able to pull the filament out.
      I will first check on the PTFE tube above Extruder and see if filament stuck in there. If it does, heat the nozzle, retract filament. Or, you can open the extruder front cover, release the PTFE tube inside extruder to manully pull the filament out.
      If your filament wasn't stuck above extruder, I will go back or the AMS box and check if my filament stuck on two possible area: 1, (tubes behinds AMS). 2, (tubes behind the printer, where there is a spring loaded box). Normally if filament stuck on 1, you will need to disassembly the AMS as shown on video to pull the filament out. In case 2, just relase tubes from both side of the spring loaded box and see if you can pull filament out.
      Hope that helps.

    • @SvgLau
      @SvgLau 4 місяці тому

      You should be able to disconnect the PTFE tube on hose connector by press the blue part inward. Cut the filament when you can. If the hose on top really wont disconnect, try disconnect lower area where hose goes to the light gray box, I shou have that cover on video. As long as you can disconnect somewhere and cut the filament, you should be able to find where it stuck and get it out.

    • @bikerinbeta
      @bikerinbeta 4 місяці тому

      @@SvgLau Thank you so much for replying. Once I removed the tube from behind the AMS box itself, I was able to pull out the rest of the tube connections. I guess since my filament was running all the way through, I needed some slack in the tubes to be able to pull them apart. Turns out my filament was stuck within the print-head, right before the nozzle. I heated up the allen wrench and stuck in there to melt the filament then pulled it out once they cooled down inside. I am running calibration now hoping that fixed it.
