    Dear Jane; I went down with a spinal injury 3 years ago. It's time I say this to you. C.J Box the author, and you, were my pain pills. I read and learned to paint. I would like to say thank you for giving my life depth until I healed. I can't thank you enough. Stay Stunning.

      She sure does help :) I´ve been struggling with back problems for the passed 12 months, so I can relate, just started walking a few weeks ago, Jane and some other artists help out a lot when it came to the pain, stress and anxiety for me, just to get that much needed break from day to day struggle, and art in general is such a good therapy :)
      I hope you are doing much better :) ❤️

    I just received my "Jane" brushes and OMG! The cloud brushes (I got 3 of them) are amazing. Clouds are my favorite thing to paint ,but I couldn't find a brush that gave me the super-soft look that I wanted. Thankfully, Jane's brushes have brought back excitement to my painting! I also picked up a couple of flat brushes. They are awesome, as well. To all of you painters out there...trreat yourself to Jane's brushes. You'll feel like a pro!

    Hi Jane. This is so timely as I am trying to figure out how to make the clouds (more like ash material) after our small volcano erupted (Taal). It would be great to see a tutorial of yours how to do a dramatic ash formation in the atmosphere.
    Just want to add... I started warching your videos in November 2019. I am a newbie and after seeing others' videos, you are the best teacher in my book. You do teach very well by showing the amount of paint you take, the brush strokes, how to hold the brush, tips and tricks, etc. I appreciate your tutorials, and teachings and your personality. 😊😄
    Thank you for sharing your your gift with us. Most of all thank you for being so real.

    Ive been watching yoyre videos. They've encouraged me to paint again. Thank you! Can I ask what you made your pallet from? I use a LOT of paper plates and want something that won't absorb the moisture or have to be thrown in the trash. I also don't want to spend money on it yet as I've put a lot of money recently into paint, canvases and brushes. Ty!

    • @garryleicester9823
      @garryleicester9823 4 роки тому +2

      I think Jane is using plain glass with tape around the edges for safety. Perhaps go to your glazier and ask for an off cut of fairly thick glass-like 8-10 mm and get them to round off the edges so you won't cut yourself. Some artists coat the underside with a color like white/grey or light brown. Hope this helps.

    • @jasher2847
      @jasher2847 4 роки тому +2

      I forget which video she describes it in, but Jane's palettes are the glass out of picture frames, taped around the sides for safety. It works for her, but they can break pretty easily if you're not careful.
      I don't have a lot of money either, and it's taken me many months to gather all my supplies, so not so long ago I was in the same boat you are looking for a decent palette.
      When after trying a multitude of other things I decided I wanted a glass palette for my acrylics, which is what I use now, I skipped all that and found a four pack of 8x12 clear glass cutting boards on Amazon for $18 or so. I think it's up to $24 now, but it's still a better deal: much thicker, a lot safer, the edges are already finished, they have feet, and should I ever break it I have three more to spare. And when I finally got my Sta-Wet palette, they fit inside it perfectly: bonus. I put the sponge in, and the glass board on top of it, and my paints stay wet for like a week. Just make sure you get the perfectly clear, non textured kind when you look on Amazon, because there are both: you may have to study the pics and the reviews to be sure you're getting something suitable.
      But before I got the glass cutting boards, for under $5 at a local World Market I got a flat, white, rectangular porcelain tasting plate that works wonderfully, and I still use it for watercolors and other crafting. I also have a smaller flat, white, square porcelain tasting plate, same style, that I also got there for maybe $2. World Market has their tasting plate sets online so you can check out the pics if you want, but buy them individually at the store and they're super cheap. Acrylics come right up with a plastic putty knife (three pack for $4 at Home Depot or Lowes if you don't already have one in the house). I opted for a plastic knife instead of a razor l so I don't scratch the plate, and I use it on the glass boards as well if I have to; I usually don't.
      Clear plastic deli containers also work well in a pinch. But you'll find something that works for you, just keep your eyes and your mind open. Hope this helps. :D
