    4:30 yes it is intentional, grocery stores put candy besides "health foods" to take advantage of the self guilt people feel after buying junk food, or if you were originally buying vegetables they want you to feel like you deserve a treat after eating healthy

    • @carterwickens6311
      @carterwickens6311 8 місяців тому +5

      It could be the opposite too, like if you went to buy some candy but felt guilty then maybe you'll be tempted to get vegetables.

      Along with the constant change in layout, to keep you in the store for longer, makes the marketing scheme much more profitable. Hoping that you look at and buy more things that you probably didn't need in the first place

  • @rmnkhr

    4:10 it is intentional. a lot of youtuber made videos on how product placement in grocery stores affect customer's buying behavior to maximize items bought

    • @LukeStrife
      @LukeStrife 8 місяців тому +2

      I worked in retail for over a decade, and it is most definitely intentional. There's a reason why oftentimes sweet stuff is near the front of store while cleaning items are often near the back.

    Frozen vegetable is actually more fresh than the fresh vegetable in the grocerie store, they have to blast freeze them in order to keep the vegetable from falling appart from the freezing process and the ripeness(idk how to say it but not rotten), so in the end frozen is fresher,, the difference will be in cooking technique because they won't retains their water too much since the water in the cells of the vegetable will be leaking more easily since it has been frozen. :)))))

    • @ChoJun69
      @ChoJun69 8 місяців тому

      Yeah, unless you buy just restocked fresh veggies and use them fast, frozen veggies are better overall cuz of blast freeze, its not just normal "put in freezer for few hours" technique.

    4:09 Anyone looking for a quick recipe for frozen corn
    1 Lime
    2 12oz bags of frozen corn (let them thaw before cooking)
    4 tablespoons of light sour cream
    1 or 2 table spoons of light mayo
    56gs of a white crumbly cheese preferable cotija but feta or parmesan will work to
    Cilantro
    Add all of the ingredients into a bowl, season with tajin, cajun powder, a pinch of salt, and if you like spice some chili flakes. Mix add to a greased oven safe container and toss in the oven at 400F for 15 minutes, or until you hear the corn popping assuming it pops before 15 minutes.
    This goes very nice with seasoned rice or a protein source like ground beef.

A lot of other videos are way over the top for a normal person who works a regular job and hasn't time and money to go above and beyond.

    3:14 If you also suffer from crying when cutting onions here is 2 tips from me to you
    1. Pell the onion and put the onion in the fridge atleast a half hour before you plan to use it and only take it out when you are ready to start cutting it.
    2. Use a sharp knife. U need to slice through the onion and with a dull knife you are more smashing and gnawing than cutting. There;s lots of videos on youtube to learn how to sharpen a knife what I did was bought a whetstone and clip on angle guides to make it easier. Once you get a good new angle on your knife you will just need to polish the edge once a month (depending on how much you cook) to keep it nice and sharp.

    Yes, sweet stuff is intentionally next to or little after vegetables. I had a conversion with a guy who was supporting the database of a dig shopping chain, and he explained to me that, based on that data shops decide what when and where to position. So they watched the behavior of the customers and found that when someone takes vegetables, it justifies buying sweet stuff, and it is almost sure that most of the customers will take something from sweet shelves.

    I can confidently say that everything is organized like that for a reason. I think that's why they say “never go for groceries with an empty stomach”.

    If you've never tried sous vide you should. Its amazing for time saving even though it takes hours lol. Its quick easy and economical price wise because you can get cuts that aren't that great normally but sous vide makes them melt in your mouth.

    You can steam the sweet potatoes without cutting them. Just wash them and stream them or put them in the oven. They taste great. For onions, light a candle next the cutting board and your eyes won't tear when you cut onions. Farm raised tilapia eats human poop. Look up an episode from the show "dirty jobs" about farm raised tilapia. You won't eat it again lol

    Flip the plastic up in the child seat of the cart if you are putting things up there...that covers the holes and keeps items from slipping through.

    I am not from the US and the concept of garlic and onion powder is so foreign to me that I only knew it existed after I started to look for recipes from the US, it doesn't even take five more minutes to use them fresh.
