My opinion - steroids shouldn’t be in bodybuilding period. It shouldn’t be glorified due to the medical risks and complications that come with it. There’s been too many deaths. I never been a big fan of female bodybuilding or bikini competitions, either they overly bulk to the point they no longer look feminine or they starve themselves to be under weight. I understand there need to be weight classes and expectations but it shouldn’t be okay to advocate self harm.
"Natural bodybuilding" is part of "bodybuilding", so it is NOT the standard. Now when you go to the elite athletes - there illegal drugs are standard in almost any sport. She is actually not a doctor. From the information I could find she has been a doctorate student for the past 9 years. Seems more like she is just another "coach".
That woman who claims that men are insecure if they don't find female bodybuilders attractive has a biased opinion. A muscular body amped up on PED's isn't going to look particulary femenine. Men are in general attracted to softer bodies with curves. It's not easy what they are doing, it's probably harder for women because they face more stigma and they sort of lose their gender with that body transformation where as men only seem to enhance their gender status in becoming big and strong.
Same as men, the fact that a deeper voice and a squared inflated face seems more normal in a man doesn't change that is the exact same fckd up stuff... just saying
This “expert” is also not giving a full, unbiased view of female steroid use. She is only talking about it in terms of social constructivism. This ignore most if not all of the physical side effects. Bad “expert”.
Just goes to show, as with most things, there is a large variation between individuals. Some guys just have a natural baritone voice. Some are higher like Jesse. Same for ladies. Its just the average skewing one way or the other.
From my point of view, the most bad side effect of taking steroids for women is the change in their face. I mean this extreme sharpness of the facial features. I guess it depends on the quantity and the type of steroids because it's not present in all of them. It seems this effect occurs in both men and women but to me, it's more devastating for women because they possess more facial natural beauty.
Objectively the worst side effects from steroids are the organ problems and (sometimes) severe anxiety. I see what you mean though, the change in face is probably the worst visual side effect.
There's muscular and then there's abusing steriods muscular (along with masculine facial features) I like a natural woman who lifts weights someone like LeanBeefPatty for example
I come from track & field and I'm from Europe. I assure you that in most sport environments outside of fitness and bodybuilding steroids are seen very very badly and juiced people are considered like despicable cheaters (and they are, at least in most sport). It's the fitness & bb community that has completely skewed perception and unfortunately they're becoming increasingly popular in the later years.
@@gregoriomiller8241 yes it should, there are natural limits to the human body, and we should accept those boundaries, not demolish them by modifying our own bodies, when it doesn't even make you look "better", it's simply unhealthy and unnecessary. if competitions didn't allow steroids, people could simply compete naturally, everyone would have equal chances, and not need to spend a fortune on this shit. using a LITTLE steroids just for faster gains is a bit more acceptable, as long as it has almost 0 side effects, but that's just for personal use, not for competitions
PS: Doctoral researcher is not an actual title. She is a doctoral candidate that is engaging in research - the former implies that she has completed her PhD
Doctoral researcher = Doctoral Canditate That Is Engaging In Research? Okay. Noted. Seems almost more concise to use in a video. Could have said "PhD Researcher" or "Research Scientist" instead. Splitting hairs it feels like.
This correction is not accurate. The term 'doctoral researcher' is a widely accepted descriptive term, particularly in the UK and Europe. It serves as an umbrella term encompassing both Ph.D. students and Ph.D. candidates, regardless of their stage of progression. Contrary to your suggestion, 'doctoral researcher' explicitly implies that the Ph.D. has not yet been completed. Also, doctoral researcher says something more about someone than "PhD. student".
@@Raztin1-tl6gi That is not standard convention in North America. It is not an officially recognized term or title. Even in Europe, that is not a commonly used title. @@Pero-zl4jp Ehhh, one's more natural and normal. girls who don't like skinny guys, normal.... men who are straight that like muscular women that have higher T levels than them, not so much.
4:51 - "Probably because of the misconception test is the male hormone where as both men and women have testosterone" - Yeah that's insane cope. If exogenous test didn't exist women with the highest natural levels with upper level being 70 ng/dL wouldn't come close to the lowest average males test levels of 300 ng/dL.
5:13 - EVEN MORE COPE - "Some men have higher estrogen naturally, does that mean a man is more feminine because their estrogen is more high" - Men with high estrogen typically have really high testosterone that is converting to estrogen if they take steroids which was her first example so NO they wouldn't exhibit more female traits. Men that are natural that have high estrogen also typically MAX have E2 level of 40 pg/mL. A womans natural E2 on the low level typically hovers around 30 pg/mL to 150 pg/mL depending on the stage of her cycle if with an upper of 750pg/mL. So again this is all framing drug use. I'm not even saying women shouldn't take steroids, people can do whatever they want but this is just a bunch of bollocks
Yea I feel like she twisted this because there are women who genuinely have low test, on a range for females, that do need trt at much lower levels but def not at the same dosage as men.
@@MementoVivere. "That do need trt" seems to be the theme these days when actual lifestyle choices are fundamental to the T-levels. At least in men you see levels of Testosterone raise when obese men goes on a diet and lose weight to a normal/somewhat lowish fat percentage. People being fat asses, overeating, sitting on their couch watching Netflix and UA-cam not moving their ass, stresses all day othewize (the modern lifestyle where everything have to be crammed in to a day) and don't take care of their sleep (also being affected by the stress levels to begin with). People, including women, choose the "fast lane", the shortcut, the easiest way out and don't care about long-term consequences. Fix it today, forget about tomorrow. You can easily be in better shape all "naturale" than a person with a bad lifestyle using PED:s. Easily!!!
How does it affect women? It transitions them into men without the equipment. Its not insecure for a man not to be attracted to nearly another man. At the same time, it's their lives so if that's what they want to do with it and damn the consequences, I admire their commitment to it.
I don't think I heard any of the women in this video saying men are insecure for not being attracted to full on bodybuilder women, they only said this in regard to people sending them unnecessary, insensitive or rude comments.

7:37 "It makes mainstream very uncomfortable, because the female is very strong." Leanbeafpatty is the biggest counter point, they must not sound like Freyza and look still recognizably female.
Leanbeafpatty is natural though. they were talking about women on steroids being less accepted than men on steroids. neither should really be normalized though.
"You only live once, so don't judge." Excuse me? No. "You only live once, so judge righteously." That's better. Steroid use shouldn't be accepted for either men or women. We're congratulating people into an early grave. Let's not forget that.
It's a risk that's worth it for some people just like any decision. Should motorcycles not be accepted? What about skydiving? Also that risk can be mitigated pretty easily if you are getting your health checked frequently and are reasonable. Remember there's different levels of steroid use, this is the absolute extreme you're seeing in this video.

Handled with supreme respect and sensitivity, Jesse. Well done, sir! I'm curious... When you started this 7-8 years ago, would you ever imagine that you would be conducting these types of interviews backstage at the OLYMPIA! I've been watching for 4 years. I think the fact that you yourself have grown has resulted in the channel growing.
Exactly. Men have absolutely no problem with strong Women. But they want them to be strong and look like Valentina Shevchenko or Alexa Grasso (Female UFC Champions) and not strong and look like Carrot Top
To sum it up, it is strength and muscle at all costs. Not necessarily insecurity. Nature makes them weak, so they break nature to be strong. Even if it cost their femininity, and possibly years of life. I can somewhat respect that. What I don't respect is one of them calling men insecure for not being attracted to them, given that's just a matter of preference.
@stevenbernfeld6415 Irony, as in getting hit by the ambulance. It's ironic because she is the one who is insecure and is throwing stones from a glass house.
As someone who knows absolutely nothing about steroids I'm confused how these women have such extremely obvious side effects to their face, voice and general masculine appearance ----- yet Vladislava Galagan is crazy jacked but still has a super feminine face. Why is that?
Comes down to the kind of steroids they're using and genetics. Different steroids virilize differently. Some people are also just not that sensitive to virilization so they end up getting less side effects.
Galagan has not all the obvious side effects showing.....yet! Give it some more years of abuse to make its work of "transforming magic" and you shall see. In addition to that her voice is often on the lower side. Wonder how it sounded pre steroid use.
My mom is an ex pro body builder that took no performance enhancing drugs or steroids. It’s definitely achievable but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication. I find that taking steroids is a way of cheating and can damage someone inside and out :(
Saying that a man is insecure if he doesn't like women with more muscle than any natural man can get is like saying that a woman not attracted by men with fake tits is insecure.
tbh what i find most amazing and interesting about these female bodybuilders is the fact they look like t-girls, like they have very masculine faces and jaws, to me its not even the bodies but just their voices and faces look like they are trans lol
The best body physique that you should desire is the one built on being natural, if you are taking steroids to look like something that you cannot achieve while being natty should be discouraged, that applies for both men and women
Everything that's being said in this video has been going on since the 80s. When women bodybuilders were smaller than today's bikini girls, people had a problem.
Pues cada uno tiene sus gustos, si a ti te gustan las mujeres musculosas pues bien, pero a mi me gustan las mujeres con su cuerpo natural, sus curvitas etc,,, pero nada de musculo. Gustos son gustos.
A fact is many of theese women went through abuse, victims of SA are extremly overepresented amongst female bodybuilders. Probably one of the reasons to get away from femininity. And yes I think that scares many men, because some of theese women are more male than most men. Obviously all that counts about a human is a kind heart, so no offence.
Jesse, thank you for opening up space for this conversation and allowing awareness. Thank u for being so respectful and open to learning. I do want to point out something that many people are saying. These women have changed drastically from the steroids in their face, voice, and obviously overall body. I’m not aware of the negatives of taking these drugs but I don’t think there’s more pros than cons. Some of these women claim if a man isn’t attracted to them, it’s projection and insecurity. First of all that’s not all men’s reasons for not being attracted to you. Second, they don’t find u attractive because your body type is not their preference. It’s perfectly normal. Just like how I’m not attracted to a man who has large hips and “man boobs”. It’s no shade, it’s just a preference. And let’s state the obvious, their facial features have also changed and it’s not attractive to some ppl. Not that these women should care too much about how pretty they are to ppl but let’s be real with ourselves! It’s not mean to state what’s obvious. It’s mean if I’m calling these women nasty names. I don’t shame them. But I don’t agree with some of their statements and perspectives.

@@jakemaxwell3810 She is just taking T. That's the most realistic explanation.

Okay.
Also, doctoral researcher says something more about someone than "PhD. student".

In addition to that, they are much more sensitive to Testosterone. Their receptors are not distributed like in men too.
Yeah lmao 300ng was my lowest and i was still strong asf
Yea I feel like she twisted this because there are women who genuinely have low test, on a range for females, that do need trt at much lower levels but def not at the same dosage as men.
@@MementoVivere. "That do need trt" seems to be the theme these days when actual lifestyle choices are fundamental to the T-levels. At least in men you see levels of Testosterone raise when obese men goes on a diet and lose weight to a normal/somewhat lowish fat percentage.
