At Tractor Supply you can get this same exact thing but it is only $8 for a 40 pound bag. It just isn't marketed as cat litter specifically, but it is the same product. It is called "Pelletized Bedding" and it says "For Horses And Other Small Animals" and even has a picture of cat with a horse and a rabbit.
Excellent ! thank you for sharing, I had heard that something like that not marketed as cat litter existed (that's the point right ? so it's cheaper) in some farming stores but I didn't know where to look. I live in suburban New Jersey so farming supplies are not common around here but next time I'll go hiking in the west part of the state that's more farmland I'll check for a store and this bedding stuff and stock up! Basically the price for me in the pet store is $20 so that makes this bedding one half to 1/3 of the cost, so I'll definitely stock up. Thank you for the reference, that's great I was trying to find that !
@positiveattitudebymichusa If you don't have a Tractor Supply store near you (which you actually might, I live in Virginia Beach and I have one near me and it's not a very rural place so it's worth checking), another possible option would be to order America's Choice Pine Pellets (which again are the same thing) to a local Walmart and then just got pick it up there. That is similarly priced to Tractor Supply, less than $8 for a 40 pound bag.
excellent again ! you are right we do have those stores and while most are a little farther 15 miles or more, I do have one 2 miles away, I never noticed because I wasn't looking for those type of stores I guess. So I am definitely going to pay a visit ! Thank you very much for the tip ! I'll also keep in mind the Walmart option in cas they are out of stock or something at the Tractor Supply store. 👍
I guess the same way you would get them used to any cat litter and litter tray. Sorry I haven't had baby kitten in a very long time, last time was 40 years ago and she would go in the garden, she started to use the litter box in winter when she was older. That said accidents will happen of course but they'll get better. As long as the litter box is free from poop (just remove the poop each time it's produced) they will go in there eventually. Cats are very clean animals they don't like to pollute and dirty their preferred spots. So if there is a dedicated spot where they can go and dig and cover their business they will use it. Maybe show them : holding their little paw and dig to show them that they can dig ? Our current cat was already 5 years old when we got him and my son didn't even question and bought directly that pine pellet litter and that cat used it right away, maybe he already knew it from its previous lives ?

How can I get my two kittens 3 months old and a half to get used to the pine pellets
