Finally some HM3 love. Super underrated pedal. Totally does that big low end thing that the HM2 does, without the complete square wave energy. Danelectro FabTone is in the same Big Stupid Chainsaw distortion kinda realm.
Really liked what you were doing with the EHX Canyon. It was haunting yet violent at the same time. Like the spirit of a witch trying to claw it's way out of the void and take you back with it

I absolutely love my Behringer Super Fuzz! The fact that it also offers a boost option allows for multiple uses no matter what style of music you're trying to play. Of course I bought it for the Monolord sound but when it comes to versatility and price, it can't be beat!
finally bought a drone master and hm-6. gonna buy an octave master soon. i really dig your pedals and everything about fuzzlord! you make awesome content always.
Venus Blue!! I love Acid Bath and your channel! Keep up the good work. We used to Cover Acid Bath, The Blue back in the late 90s early 2000s. I used a Black Russian big Muff and a Boss Metal Zone as my OD pedals for my band The Almighty Wiedian. Eventually went from the Boss to the RAT. +1 on the Russian muff reissue; served me well in my last band for years - and I’ve definitely gotten useable sounds out of an HM-3. In my opinion, to sweeten any distortion box you choose, the SD-1 you have on your board is essential for more tone/gain stacking options. Killer that there’s a better, (cheaper,) option out there than a VoodooLabs power supply. (They are great though; I’ve had no issues with the two I own.) Great video! Cheers!
The EHX Op Amp Big Muff works pretty well for Doom, even though it seems like it's intended for Smashing Pumpkins type of Grunge. The Canyon has an interesting tone. Great demos 👍
Hey Jason, hope you're doing well, mate. Been a while since I dropped you a message. I'm still digging the MF-5 you gifted to me. I hope the canvas paintings are still bringing on the smiles! Years ago, 1999/2000(ish), I bought a Dunlop Cry Baby, EHX Big Muff, Boss DS-1, Boss TU-2 & a Boss DD2 (they were in that order on the board), all of them were secondhand apart from the DS-1, £30 new & I think the Cry Baby was new, too. Some time after I bought a RAT. That was a very budget pedalboard & it worked so well into a Model T and a drop - B tuned 1982 USA Fender Stratocaster. Good old days. I would actually like to buy those pedals again for old times sake. Keep up with the great work, mate!
The Russian Muff reissue as well as all the EHX Muff reissues are awesome & budget friendly. Currently I’m running the Green Russian reissue after my Fuzzlord FET120, just a killer combo. That EHX Canyon sounded amazing! Got me thinking about that pedal now. If you get the chance check out the Boss MZ-2 Digital Metalizer, underrated Boss distortion pedal imo. It’s like the HM-3 but with delay & chorus options & can be found on the used market for a good price
I’m a huuuuge fan of the EHX Canyon. Does droney washy stuff, sweet solo delay echoes, and the shimmer sounds so good on clean stuff if you wanna do a Yob-like thing. External tap tempo is a life saver also.
I have two of those Donner Power Supplies and I think I picked them up for like 30 bucks a few years ago, I never have any problems with them. Definitely a great budget option. I use them on a board that's totally not budget friendly.
SF-300 super fuzz 29 bucks amazon lol i got one for my bass,to add with my darkglass alpha omega for extra effects. at the local shop for 40 bucks. good investement and cheaper then dirt lol
@@FuzzlordEffects absolutely, a cranked rat into a distorted amp is immediate sunn o))) sounds, and rolling off guitar volume can actually make a tighter chug when using the rat like that (depending on the amps compression). But you can destroy your signal and remain loud in the mix with a rat, very useful and artistic imo
The TC Electronics’ Rusty Fuzz is a awesome pedal. Only $50 at Guitar Center. Goes really well the Sky Surfer reverb and Rush boost. I was able to pick them up when GC had a buy 2 get one free sale.
between the rat, the muff reissues and the various behringer clones, you can be doomin for less than 200 bucks. that's less than dudes used to spend on gas station bongs back in my younger days. we're living in great times for guita gear
Love boosting a RAT with a bigmuff, kinda like you would with a tubescreamer but more fat and bass heavy instead of cut. Can be tightened up with a TS pretty easily though, just control how hard you push things so it doesnt get noisy.
Not exactly a pedal question but what's the "do it all" amp in your opinion? The targets tones being Ry Cooder's Southern Comfort arrangement to Acid King's III album. I can't leave out Dead Meadow's Beyond the Fields We Know. I'm a bluesman at heart but can't deny the artistic power of doom and stoner.
My budget doom pedal board is a 50w Boss Katana Mk II🙃. But if I had $250 to spend on pedals it would be a Behringer SF300, Mooer Black Secret, Joyo D-Seed, TC Polytune 2, and an MXR MX-106 Noise Gate.
From L-R I have a phaser, bass eq, very metal, dark matter, sf 300, big muff pii and a boss super overdrive. All my pedals are worth it in the end, maybe 60 i dropped on all of them through trades and hustles. Only thing is berhinger doesn’t make a true bypass pedal but they make a damn fine clone.
Great video, thanks! Question... won't the tuner still act as a mute in front of the fuzz pedals? Confused why it couldn't be the first pedal, is it just because you prefer all dirt on the first row?
@@FuzzlordEffects I see, thanks! I just experimented with a Big Muff Pi, and it sounds like crap after my Peterson StroboStomp, possibly because of the buffered output. Definitely putting the tuner after the fuzz now!
Would to see variations to the SF300 to adjust the Mids between Mode 1 and 2 tones, and Octave control. Make Mode 1.5 a normal position and with lower level due to having both feeds. How about lower gain through Pre-gain control.
Thanks for showing some love to the Metalzone, that pedal gets a bad rap because those guys don't know how to tweak it correctly. It does Death Metal pretty damn well. I like the SF300, but like the FU-2 better, just more clarity even when I crank it. The tone and sustain you gave the Expander just oozes with doom.
I like the hm-3 sounded great with the gain all the way down the output turned all the way up and the eq’s at noon. Very fuzzy but still great clarity and they are super cheap got mine for 40 bucks
My Board is turning into a board inspired by All them witches and King Buffalo. Would you call them "doom" aswell? They use similar pedals I am realising.
Sweet idea as I’m trying to play doom/stoner in a feasible or a budget manner. I just need a couple more pedals and the funds to afford an aluminum neck for my Jazzmaster. I think the Boss FZ-2 or something like the JHS Supreme would be perfect. That or a DBA Fuzz War or what my current setup, a Fuzz Face style fuzz with an octave or sub octave added. I love stacking my Basic Audio Face fuzz or a RAT along with an EQD Tentacle for some ultimate octave dooming. I never knew how great the RAT was with or without an octave pedal as well as the Basic Audio Face fuzz which is a slightly glitchy and sputtery Fuzz Face circuit with some added controls. That sputtery and glitchy fuzzy goodness stacked with an octave is prime fun dooming material. So I’m almost through this video and I wanna ask what you’re using for an amp during this video? Because that definitely makes a major impact on how these pedals are gonna sound. It may not be completely changing their sound or tone, but I went from a solid state Fender to a hybrid solid state with tube power section late 70’s Peavey and a lot of my pedals sound pretty significantly different than they did. I love my Peavey 2x12 but it’s kinda dark and a little bass heavy in some fuzzes or distortions. That isn’t always a problem, but when you need a brighter sound to punch through, a fuzz that was brighter is now darker and more low end heavy or you hear how a pedal sounds on UA-cam and then buy one and it sounds almost completely different it creates an issue of whether or not to swap out speakers. Which I think I’ll swap my current speakers out for some type of Celestion or Jensen speakers if not something else. Mainly to either get that brighter Fender amp sound to slam filthy fuzz or distortion into or Celestion speakers for that classic Laney sound. Maybe then the pedals I use and on board gain that sounds a little artificial would sound better than ever. Anyways with budget pedalboards, I actually got mine off of Amazon for like $40 last Christmas and it’s able to hold about 10-11 EQD or JHS sized pedal footprints. It came with a decent carrying back that has a two way zipper and front pocket that held a roll of velcro both receiving and sticking sides. It’s honestly pretty solid and my third pedalboard I’ve ever owned. The first was some small Pedaltrain board and the second being a legitimate skateboard with the wheels gone. I used the trucks as legs to keep the board off the ground so the power supply could be underneath mounted and the top could solely be for pedals.
Funny. I was looking for a video just like this last week. Algorithm did me right. Now possible to show how to set pedals in what place and stuff? I can play just don't know pedals 🤣

Just use behringer pedals those are the cheapest I'd say Donner pedals are next in the cheap but great category Mooer pedals are pretty much the same but slightly more joyo pedals are alright for cheap if you get the right ones from there it's stuff in the jhs 3 series or tc electronic smorgasbord price range
I have the moskey version from Amazon. Actually sounded heavier to me than my rat reissue. C standard through a vtm 60. It shook my house. It's darker in my opinion so it pairs really well with a brighter 800 style amp. And the led is as bright as the older black arts stuff. It will blind you
The Rat is awesome! The Canyon is one of the best delays I owned so far, only the delay kob is super sensitive and can be kind of hard to dial in.
