I‘d probably add a wah pedal, after the fuzz. I love those screaming sounds you get if you run fuzz->wah->distorsion/gainy amp. I’d change the DS1 for a Rat-kinda thing, cause it’s easier to gain stack and you don’t get lost in the mix, that can easily happen with a DS1. I would actually put the phaser after the delay, because the movement is going on when the delay trails off, that seems more organic to me. I think there’s no easy way to sort your (gain) pedals. I used to love the sound of my behringer Super Fuzz until I got the DOD Carcosa... But there was this point I started trying out different distortion pedals... Found the Walrus' Iron Horse and fell in love. Guess I'm not a fuzz guy after all :(
I use the carcosa to this day as first gainstage in my black metal rig. Amazingly versatile fuzz. I dial the Bias pretty low, so it's really just a bit fuzzy distortion. Hi everybody. My name is Geoff and I am a pedal addict. I'm relatively new to the scene - I have 16 pedals on my board. I know that this isn't as many as a lot of other people have and that compared to many people I am a complete noob. However here I find myself at 00:57 watching a video on pedals for 'doom metal' and 'stoner rock'; these are ideas that exist beyond my comprehension as I live in the land of delay and reverb. I am not particularly into dirt pedals - I actually only own one dirt pedal, but I can't help consuming media focused on guitar pedals. The worst part is, I'm not sure I want help. Please pray for me brothers, and my wallet.
I put my phaser before my drive, I like how it ends up sounding different that way, less obvious. Then I actually use my lower gain tumnus after my higher gain drive just so it is a lead boost that really narrows the mids and highs for leads. From Ottawa. Listening to pallbearer and Deafheaven lately
Yeah but do you have a matamp green that is basically a 4 big muffs when overdriven, and neighbours that'll accept stadium level volumes? If not then you can forget all about getting Doom Metal tones straight from the amp, you'll have to just use a RAT like the rest of us buddy.
I think every pedalboard, no matter the genre, could do with a wah wah pedal. I've been listening to Lightning Bolt a lot recently - insane. All the way from Ireland!
I really want to get my hands on a EHX Mike Matthews Freedom Amp, used in the original 1973 Bedemon recordings. Pentagram doomed, but Bedemon is true doom. Those amps are hard to find.
Some fuzz pedals interact with the impedance of the guitar so you'll want to put them directly after the guitar (even before tuner) to take advantage of that.
I have gone through a lot of gear over the years. Never really had more than one pedal at any given time. I used to have a cloven hoof, and then years later when I no longer had that, I got an earthquaker devices eruptor. Now i have a metal zone and a tone city matcha cream fuzz. Looking to build up my pedal collection and get a board.
You do some things different from the way I do, my tuner is always in front and octave is always before my dirt. I always figured the octave would track my playing with greater precision up front, same as the tuner.
DS-1, neck pick-up, C-standard...any amp. I start with the dirty channel on the amp. Gain at 6.5, right as it's about to go from overdrive to distortion; there's a sweet spot. Bass around 6, treble at 4-4.5, mids at 5-6. From there, you stack the DS-1 on top and build from there. Roll that tone back a little from the middle position..listen for it. Match the gain on the pedal to the gain on the amp. Try the level knob in the middle. Report your findings. That's my basic tone. I get a lot of help from this community and others, so I like to help when I can. Note: I play a '65 Jag...single coils, no shit.
Just found your channel. Great video. I’m just now getting into this sound (was doing thrash a lot) so I definitely needed some guidance! Gonna try to combine this sound with more traditional metal. P.S. from Sacramento CA home of the Deftones!
Excellent video - my Doomy song The Treacherous / The Violent has the tone made with layering the Gandalf Octave Fuzz with the Behringer fuzz pedal clone (orange) that you featured in your other video - I am proud of my first Doom song! Thank you, your channel helped me immeasurably
I would add a decent but affordable chorus. They don't have to always be used in the 80's ballad way, they can make really cool sounds when you play with them. I've been wearing out The Devil and the Almighty Blues latest album here in SW Oklahoma. Also, I need more quality quotes of the day. lol
I did a 'chainsaw' mod to the SF300. Adding a daughter board with a gyrator to replace the capacitor and resistor of the treble control, turning it in to a 11db boost or cut of 1kHz
@@FuzzlordEffects i wish i had demo's on the pedals i build, but i dont have a reasonable microphone, and my phone makes it sound like its an underwater phaser
If I were to add a pedal it'd either be an overdrive like (budget friendly) Behringer TO800 Vintage Tube Overdrive or (less budget friendly) Horizon Devices Precision Drive... or an effect pedal like a wah (budget friendly) Behringer Hell Babe (you can upgrade a couple parts for it to be at a Cry Baby standard with out spending a lot) or (less budget friendly) DigiTech Whammy, or, or, or, or... Lol I could talk this for hours.. buy Behringer stuff if you're on a budget, their great! If you've got the cash to buy better do it, but don't forget to give the Behringer pedals a shot, I've seen quite a few of my friends over the years get hooked because they figured cheap plastic crap till they actually got to hear and try them. You can always buy metal stomp boxes for around $6 dollars on eBay, and throw the Behringer guts into it if it's make you more comfortable too.
I've always thought of this method for Behringers. Could you link or be a bit specific? Whenever I try to google metal housings for Beringer I just get links to their metal clone pedals lol
@@rakatai.i.i8739 You'd be buying one of the Behringer pedals and taking the guts out and putting it in an empty stomp box, a foot switch button, etc.. it's a small fun project for anyone who is worried about plastic pedals at shows and on the road where you can get a great sound without spending a ton, if you are handy or know someone whom can do it for you.
Real talk? I'd just add a noise gate, because I'm pretty sensitive to the hum from high gain pedals. Also, I got my Fu-2 in the mail last week, and it is excellent. Thanks for that, and keep up the outstanding work.
Also really dislike the hum when I'm not playing anything so i recently added a noise suppressor and hooked it up through my FX loop. Is a noise gate similar?
@@marlongonzalez3980 I'm not a pedal expert, but I've always heard that noise suppressors filter out certain frequencies actively whether you're playing or not. Noise gates cut the signal off completely at a threshold you set. Similar but different applications.
Hey Fuzzlord, Im from NC. Just found your channel and I dig what you're doing alot. Ive been getting into pedals and right now I have a TS9 tube screamer and a Japanese fuzz by Revol Effects called "The Fuzz" (found it a a pawn shop for $30 bucks thing is beast) and lastly a Boss RV-5 reverb. I appreciate the clarity on pedal arrangements as I plan to get a phase 90 and maybe an electro- harmonics Canyon delay. oh and my guitar is my custom (wired by me in a HSS coil setup her name is CatPiss) 96' Squire ProTone Strat with a blocked Floyd rose and my amp is the Orange Micro Dark terror into a Bugera 2x12... one day I'll upgrade the amp and can but it's awesome especially if I use the orange as a preamp on my buddies Vox AC30. albums I've been listening to have been Dopethrone by Electric Wizard and Murder of the Universe by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
Dod gunslinger-Biyang FZ 7 Fuzz-EHX bad stone Phaser-Donner yellow fall delay-Walrus slo, in dark (not budget lol)= 3rd from the sun era Helious creed. Not Doom but heavy, trippy and trance inducing.. The FZ-7 is kind of a big muff clone, but has a couple extra "voices". The yellow fall is a no frills PT2399 chipped delay, works well. Both under $40
Hi there man, I'm watching from Brazil here. I would switch the DS-1 for the RAT, also the delay for the Dispatch Master. One of my favorite records is 1184, great stuff from Norway.
@@DARTHMOBIUS it's going well I bought a schecter omen to start out and trying different tunings learning to alternate pick seems to be my biggest challenge at this stage but it's fun nonetheless
Richard Schlinger: the Schecter’s a really nice Bass, I jam a Ibanez ST505L through a bunch of processors into a SWR combo, trying to teach myself to play a Chibson SG I picked up in the local pawn shop, I got shovels for hands so I’m no shredder lol
Watching from my pc. Recently I listened to Pulse Demon by Merzbow and really enjoyed it. One pedal I'd add to the board is a chorus, when you turn on a chorus and have it at slow speeds and subtle depths it really makes your sound HUGE!
So I have used or clone gear and it saves so much money. I’m running a EQD Special Cranker (used) into a EQD Acapulco Gold (used) so that the Special Cranker pushes the AG but keeps the loud and fat sound with the added brightened tonal characteristics of the Special Cranker. The Special Cranker is also set to just color enough for dirty cleans and always on. Then I have a JFET boost to punch the loudness more than ever, because louder is more good. Following this, I have an DBA Echo Dream 2 clone that has an added foot switch for oscillation and infinite repeats, which I keep set to have a small trail of warble repeats. Then when I want insane droning chaos, I just slam that second foot switch down and hold it for however long I want the madness to drone. I scored a 1978 Peavey Deuce VT 2x12 combo for $200 that has the foot switch pedal for the on board phaser and reverb, but reverb is always on at max. The guitar I got is a Squier lefty Jazzmaster fitted with a Jazzmaster sized P90 in the bridge. My rig is pretty awesome and affordable all over, given how much money I could have spent to achieve the sound and gear. I’m thinking of adding in a POG or Sub n Up for sub octave added before the AG for nastier filth with sub octave distortion. Then I think I might be set.
i gave the behringer fuzz to the guitarist of my band, he is loving it, und we are loving what he is doing with it, in my opinion they are making some quite nice sounding effect pedals.
Hi from Brazil! well, another fuzz would be nice. Personaly, I love the sound from the cactus abduction. Gated fuzzes have a special place in my heart and board. And please, do the podcasts!
My current board: EHX Flatiron (Rat clone), EHX Small Stone (trippy graphic version), DD-3 and TU-3. The board it self is a $20 Mr. Power pedalboard I got from Amazon.
Wayne from Chattanooga TN.. How about a wah pedal? Got into stoner/doom last 2 years...love me some Windhand, fireball ministry, sleep, coc, orange goblin, trouble....
Greensboro, NC here. I’d add a wah pedal because you can get some really cool sounds for riffs with one. Either heel all the way down for a bit more bass tone or half cocked wah. Wag pedals also sound cool with a phaser can def get some unique trippy sounding riffs
Been listening to alot of SLEEP and high on fire.. matt pikes guitar tone is fucking *godly* also if i were to put a pedal on that board id go for a fuzz pedal or a tube screamer.
Arizona watcher here, Love your channel! Love the gear demos and tips you have here Im finally gonna start building a pedal board thanks to your channel. As far as an album goes Ive been revisiting Sleep's Volume one lately.
Do you solely rely on pedals for distortion? I prefer amp distortion most of the time, and im considering buying a phase 90, but i dont have an fx loop.
I do but I play through clean amps. It’s just my deal. I always start with a very clean base tone so I can get those nice pretty tones; and add dirt on top of it. If folks like a more overdriven stock tone, I would start with the amp with that type of break up and overdrive and boost it from there with pedals. You can always add more dirt, harder to clean up an amp that’s too dirty if you want cleans. Cheers! Jason
There is definitely a tone running phase into distortion, if you don't like the phaser in front then as a last resort you could put a little pedal in front of that. I used to hate fx loops then I accidentally tried a mic preamp before some pedals. 😸
I personally wouldn't put a Phaser into the FX loop, and also would put it in front of my dirt much like a wah. Phasers before dirt have a more subtle effect that moves your distorted tone in a much more pleasant way, IMO. But order of effects is almost always up to personal preference
Houston TX. Maybe a noise gate. Maybe on your videos or podcast maybe you could suggest bands too? I’m pretty new to this genre so that would be appreciated. Thanks
Ok you asked for it. I use many pedals on my board. Although my board is 3 tiered I built myself. Pedals I use in this order because I run them thru the front and my effects Loop as well. So this is kind of long but worth it. Thru the front end of my Blackstar ID260 2 X 12 that takes pedals very well. I start of with my JH-1 Wah pedal that is my only pedal that sits off the board but runs 1st into the boards compressor pedal, Caline Crazy Cacti OD, BOSS SD-1 SOD, Now this pedal runs into a LOOP Pedal that takes other pedal in and out of the chain, making the chain shorter so you can run more pedals without sacrificing tone. So this runs into the input of that pedal with TRUE BY PASS, Then out of Output 1 two pedals ran in chain are BOSS DS-1 BOSS DS-2, Output 2 in chain, JOYO MetalHead & Ibanez DS7 Distortion Pedals, Output 3 are my BOSS ST-2 Power Stack and BOSS ML2 Metal Core, then from the output back into normal chain runs into my Plexion Dist Pedal, into the PRO CO RATT, to last in line my Valeton chorus CH-10. Now all of that is just to front of my amp. Now thru my effects loop because this amp kicks ass and handles pedals so well. I leave my amp on a clean channel at all times and use all my pedals for my sound. So here it goes, Out of the amp effect loop to Digitech DROP Tune pedal, BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone, into a Rowin Noise Gate, this really helps tone so much by always leaving it on, into my PLUMP Analog Delay (usually always on very mild to fatten the tone), MOOER US Gold 0012 Preamp pedal on clean channel(always on for a kick in the ass boost and tone) , Mooer RADAR Cab Sim pedal (a must have because cabinet models create so many different tones and is half your rigs sound if you don't want to lug 35 different cabinets around this helps so much), BOSS GE-7 EQ ( I use it for a boost at the moment to up the db level for solos to stand out better.), into last but not least my Rowin Twin Looper pedal. The looper needs to go last in this chain setup so you can loop all your pedals you use no matter where on the board, and that runs to the input of the effects loop. Crazy eh? Yeah, it's an affordable setup, all pedals are basically under $100.00 each used accept the Cabinet IR pedal and the DROP tuning pedal. Those 2 are like $110.00 $120.00US each. Thats 23 pedals velcro onto my board that do not move. It also has 3 power supplies on it to power it all that are (dedicated), and That's a must. Then a power strip for a couple pedals that run higher voltages like the Mooer Pedals. The Blackstar I created a few channels I use reverbs, phase, tremolo, and even an amp delay it has that's very cool that is always on or off in each channel I create. The Blackstar is a power house for cheap and sounds killer! You can store itself 128 different patch setups if you like. I only run 8 at the moment and use pedals. But my chain running it this way is basically dead silent when not playing, and screaming killer tones when I am. Key is using that LOOP pedal to take pedals you want to stack in and out of line by a click of a footswitch. This way you really don't need buffers because BOSS has them already even though and in and out buffer could be used, it's really not needed.
Hey man i m a behringer owner and is awesome and that would be the one i choose. But now i wanna buy as much fuzz pedal as possible maybe learn how to build one. Btw i m italian and i m watching this from tenerife.
I hD the ds 1 back in the day my first pedal. My wife just reminded me the other day how cool pedals are. Like VHS tapes or collector items. Each one is all about one thing with its own character. Like a classic car or something like striaght nostalgia with the classics. Just exciting and lovable ya know.
I would add a boss chorus, to get those “wylde” zakk sounds Last album i listened to was the way of all flesh whilst driving home from work Greetings from Denmark!
Exact Zakk Wylde is fucking lame and not at all stoner rock. Perhaps you should suggest this on a video about pedals for dudes who want to lift weights and play the most beloved metal in the trailer park
Justin Vavala he isn't doom, but he shreds and would absolutely play you under the table.. even if he was playing sabbath or any other type of doom. :)
Great to see appreciation for cheaper & second hand gear. I've been fiddling around a few years now, with low-budget pedals, and gear, and I think I've found something now, budget-friendly, rig-wise., for a massive drone-doom kinda sound. A cheap 24-fret 4-string bass, tuned to C-standard, going through an ABY-split-pedal; First off, into a Rat, a Valeton Lazaro fuzz, Behringer bass EQ and cheap Caline CP-60 pre-amp pedal, into a 2nd hand Eden 200w solid state bassamp. Second part, through a very cheap polyphonic octaver, into a TC Electronic Eyemaster, a NUX phaser, Ibanez DE7-delay, and a Behringer reverb machine, into an Orange Crush LX20 guitar amp. It's cheap, small, good enough for rehearsal spaces, and, quite fun.
I like that, assuming we get an original Phase 90, the pedalboard is color-coordinated. Should look good if you have an Orange amp. :-D Also, is the Altoids tin with a badge the power supply? Not sure if you talked much about powering your board. And thanks for the vid overall - it's rather relevant because I finally picked up guitar and while it might be too early _now_, this gives me an inexpensive goal to work towards for the next few months.
Great point about phase 90 haha! Just where I keep my picks and earplugs. Power supply mounted under board and believe the older pedalboard video mentions it.
This is great.! Thanks so much for this information. I'm old as balls, live in northern England, wanting to start playing again after not sticking with it when I was younger. Especially after getting my 14yo daughter her first bass. Would love to sound like Bongripper.!
"easy to find", puts SF300 on board... consistently on backorder thanks to JHS... ETA on mine is december or you can overpay on ebay and reverb from the dicksmokes who bought 5 to sell them at a big markup to people who won't wait

Great! I am really a beginner in composition and music production, but I am crazy about fuzz and reverb, especially because of my passion for Space, Prog, and Stoner Rock (and Doom Metal as well). Your videos are helping me a lot while I am learning and experimenting with some VSTs before buying and setting up my own equipment. Greetings from Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil.
Boosting/distortion before a fuzz will definitely muddy things up, BUT it will give you an amazing lead tone boosting into a sf300. Also, (for lead tones) reverb sounds amazing before distortions and fuzzes. It helps if you also have the option of an amp reverb so you have one after the distortions as an option. These things will limit your options since you’re only allowing those pedals to be used while you’re playing lead lines (or clean), but in my experience it’s worth it cuz it just sounds gnarly.
Greetings from Sweden! Your channel and content is very helpful! Thanks alot! Electric Wizard blew my mind so i want to gear up and doom away. Love the sound of the pedals you build. Keep up the good work!

I am not particularly into dirt pedals - I actually only own one dirt pedal, but I can't help consuming media focused on guitar pedals.
The worst part is, I'm not sure I want help.
Please pray for me brothers, and my wallet.
Hahahaha nice!
Great point!
Phase before dirt is my preferred order as well. Moves your distorted Riffs in a smoother, more subtle way
I will never forget the forum when someone said “Matt Pike’s tone is purely from his amps”
He is such an amazing guitar player, living legend.
The modern day Riff Lord 🙏
Yeah but do you have a matamp green that is basically a 4 big muffs when overdriven, and neighbours that'll accept stadium level volumes? If not then you can forget all about getting Doom Metal tones straight from the amp, you'll have to just use a RAT like the rest of us buddy.
You have always helped me in the journey of stoner doom guitar playing. Love from India
I am so happy to hear that and thank you for watching!!
I think every pedalboard, no matter the genre, could do with a wah wah pedal. I've been listening to Lightning Bolt a lot recently - insane. All the way from Ireland!
Good point! I need to learn how to use them sooner or later haha
Another amazing video! About a month ago, I started playing guitar and I love learning about pedals.
So awesome! Glad you’re digging the pedal stuff :)
Boss Katana , Little Big Muff , Crybaby , Mosky Spring Reverb , Caline Pure Sky ( Timmy clone ) . Does it all for me 👍
Cheers!
I love the pure sky. It's an always on for me
I have gone through a lot of gear over the years. Never really had more than one pedal at any given time. I used to have a cloven hoof, and then years later when I no longer had that, I got an earthquaker devices eruptor.
Now i have a metal zone and a tone city matcha cream fuzz. Looking to build up my pedal collection and get a board.
The cloven hoof is sick!
You do some things different from the way I do, my tuner is always in front and octave is always before my dirt. I always figured the octave would track my playing with greater precision up front, same as the tuner.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching and sharing!!
Acworth,GA I would add a proco rat bc I love the sound of that pedal.
Great idea!
I run a SD-1, a Mr Black Doomstick II and a Proco Rat v2
The Rat was my go to for years before i got my Peavey triple x. Those heads have more distortion that you will ever need
Fun fact: The Proco Rats op-amp is based after the Ds-1
Just found your channel. Great video. I’m just now getting into this sound (was doing thrash a lot) so I definitely needed some guidance! Gonna try to combine this sound with more traditional metal.
P.S. from Sacramento CA home of the Deftones!
I'd add a Rowin reverb for around $30(AUS), beyond worthy, + Holy Serpents new album is brutaful👌
SF300 it is in this one hah (the pickup I used was a Seymour Duncan Black Winter)
Thank you so much for these videos man, exactly the content I've been looking for. Cant wait to try out some of your pedals in the future!
Thank you so much for watching! Will keep these videos coming
Watching this like a year later. Cheers from Poland mate. Great video. Lots of useful tidbits for pedalboard setup.
Cheers from Oregon and thanks for watching!
I would add a decent but affordable chorus. They don't have to always be used in the 80's ballad way, they can make really cool sounds when you play with them. I've been wearing out The Devil and the Almighty Blues latest album here in SW Oklahoma. Also, I need more quality quotes of the day. lol
Great idea and will keep the quotes coming Hahahaha
Yes! Not really doom, but Peter Steel from typo negative used distortion into chorus for a brutal bass tone.
Blew my mind with the amp handle... absolutely genius!!
Oh and your video was excellent too
Such a good addition! Thanks for watching!
I’m a bass player and would be interested in hearing what you suggest for gear for us bass players, especially cost friendly gear.
Will try to make something like that in the future!
BBE Sonic Stomp;
I usually put it after tuner or at the end.
I don't know why, but it feels like it makes everything sound better with it.
Badass pedal!!
I'd add a clean boost, or a wah - for this, probably an eh lpb-1 as they're so cheap, but a wah with a volume boost could do the trick as well
Great ideas!
I did a 'chainsaw' mod to the SF300. Adding a daughter board with a gyrator to replace the capacitor and resistor of the treble control, turning it in to a 11db boost or cut of 1kHz
that is awesome! Link to a demo?

@@dieselnautburkey4677 Thanks a bunch man! Been wanting to do this forever!
I love my BYOC Phase 90 clone that I built. Love the channel!
great pedal!
Real talk? I'd just add a noise gate, because I'm pretty sensitive to the hum from high gain pedals.
Also, I got my Fu-2 in the mail last week, and it is excellent. Thanks for that, and keep up the outstanding work.
Great idea!
For my bass when im playing heavy music i use a joyo dyna compressor/behringer bass eq/sm7 smashbox, massive sound dont need anything else.
Hey Fuzzlord,
Im from NC.
King gizzard and the lizard wizard is such an awesome band! Cheers and thanks for watching
Both under $40
Nice!!!!
Hi there man, I'm watching from Brazil here. I would switch the DS-1 for the RAT, also the delay for the Dispatch Master. One of my favorite records is 1184, great stuff from Norway.
Awesome choices!
Hails, we're also from Oregon, nice job throwning in the Dopethrone riff with the SF-300!
Thank you!
I need to learn to play so I can start a channel called "Ok Doomer"
But learning to play takes time, hard work and effort. Where will you find time to fidget spin, play fortnite, and choke down tide pods?
Richard Schlinger: hows it going with learning to play?
Perversia: how about sleeping for just 4.3 hours for starters...
Great idea on the chorus!
I recently listened to The End Is Nigh, by Apocalypse Orchestra.
Nice!
THey sure do! Cheers Abysso!
Hi from Brazil! well, another fuzz would be nice. Personaly, I love the sound from the cactus abduction. Gated fuzzes have a special place in my heart and board. And please, do the podcasts!
New podcast episode is up and thank you for watching (:
One pedal I would add is a Wah, latest album I need to listen is Oro by Ufomammut
Cheers and will our that on next time I am at the bench working 🦇
We love you.
Just waiting in line for our pedals from you!!
I’m thinking of buying a Fuzzlord Effects pedal. Anything you’d recommend for an old school Pagan Altar/Black Sabbath-ish tone?
Riff master run happening soon. Check out the demo on the does it doom UA-cam page.
My current board: EHX Flatiron (Rat clone), EHX Small Stone (trippy graphic version), DD-3 and TU-3. The board it self is a $20 Mr. Power pedalboard I got from Amazon.
Nice!
Wayne from Chattanooga TN..
How about a wah pedal?
Got into stoner/doom last 2 years...love me some Windhand, fireball ministry, sleep, coc, orange goblin, trouble....
Will add one next time (:
colorado springs reporting in, my board is a DA-120 OVERDRIVE - TS9 - SUPER CHORUS - LOOP STATION RC2
Nice!
Greensboro, NC here. I’d add a wah pedal because you can get some really cool sounds for riffs with one. Either heel all the way down for a bit more bass tone or half cocked wah. Wag pedals also sound cool with a phaser can def get some unique trippy sounding riffs
Great point! I need to add a wah soon. Cheers Toki!
No joke on that Behringer fuzz. It is a super scooped fuzz pedal and sounds great. I like the two voiceings and boost option.
Been listening to alot of SLEEP and high on fire.. matt pikes guitar tone is fucking *godly* also if i were to put a pedal on that board id go for a fuzz pedal or a tube screamer.
Cheers!
BioLizard Venom i love his tone. Even at low volume it feels, loud, very loud
@@koffieverslaafde627 Hell ya!
I'd add a noise gate at the end. I use an MXR Smartgate.
nice!
Sounds awesome as always man! Out of curiosity how is your DS-1 dialed in? Couldn't quite make out the settings but it sounded killer.
Tone about half, volume around 3 o clock, distortion pretty much maxed
@@FuzzlordEffects Thanks man! I like mine but I'm always tinkering trying to find that sweet spot. Might have to give this a rip later.
Arizona watcher here, Love your channel! Love the gear demos and tips you have here Im finally gonna start building a pedal board thanks to your channel. As far as an album goes Ive been revisiting Sleep's Volume one lately.
What a great album! So happy to hear the channel has been helpful (: thank you for watching
This is a great reference for someone getting into pedals thanks alot
Houston TX. Maybe a noise gate.
Maybe on your videos or podcast maybe you could suggest bands too? I’m pretty new to this genre so that would be appreciated. Thanks
Ah good idea! I’ll start trying to add that.
I was literally just about you tell you that you're nuts for having dist going into fuzz but then you fixed it! Cool!
do you like My Dying Bride? - a great doom band with very interesting arrangements from England.
Haven’t heard them but will check them out! Cheers
Sounds like an elaborate setup! I'm glad it's working for you! Thanks for watching and sharing, cheers!
I really like a phaser before fuzz. Tape delay before fuzz is amazing too.
Hey man i m a behringer owner and is awesome and that would be the one i choose. But now i wanna buy as much fuzz pedal as possible maybe learn how to build one. Btw i m italian and i m watching this from tenerife.
Carcosa fuzz! They’re so cheap and sound amazing. I can see the price skyrocketing once they’re out of production.
Nice!
Yeah, I have one. Can get plenty of variety out of it.
I put a Carcosa into a Rat and its fuckin awesome
I hD the ds 1 back in the day my first pedal. My wife just reminded me the other day how cool pedals are. Like VHS tapes or collector items. Each one is all about one thing with its own character. Like a classic car or something like striaght nostalgia with the classics. Just exciting and lovable ya know.
Great point! It is so fun to collect them 💚
I would add a boss chorus, to get those “wylde” zakk sounds
Last album i listened to was the way of all flesh whilst driving home from work
Greetings from Denmark!
Nice!
Also, is the Altoids tin with a badge the power supply? Not sure if you talked much about powering your board. And thanks for the vid overall - it's rather relevant because I finally picked up guitar and while it might be too early _now_, this gives me an inexpensive goal to work towards for the next few months.
Great point about phase 90 haha! Just where I keep my picks and earplugs. Power supply mounted under board and believe the older pedalboard video mentions it.
@@FuzzlordEffects Makes sense, question looks kinda stupid in hindsight, haha.

ETA on mine is december
or you can overpay on ebay and reverb from the dicksmokes who bought 5 to sell them at a big markup to people who won't wait
They went on back order very quickly after Steve from Does It Doom did a video on them (: He seemed to prove their value for the doom crowd and now pedal is so hard to find. Check out his channel if you haven’t yet 🦇
@@FuzzlordEffects I got lucky. Mine was sitting in my local pawn shop in mint condition. There are SO many cheaper delay pedals than the Boss DD
Using what I have here. I obviously don’t buy new pedals every week to make these dude 😂
Greetings from Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil.
put a wah on that board right now
Deal!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting Calle!
Czech, Wah wah for sure. Good idea of the band stuff. Keep doing great work. Thanks for the video.
Love all the advice here.....I am a 1 man band, bass player, but I do add guitar minimally, and am always looking for new sounds and effects.....
Rad little budget board! 4 other pedals that you could pick one from I’d consider 1. A mini Hall of Fame reverb(got mine for $65
2. A mini Flashback delay(also $65)
3. A Cry Baby Wah($80)
4. A DOD Carcosa Fuzz($75)
All prices from Reverb!
Great video 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Dig your 4 pedals!!! Thanks for watching
funny the mini Flashback delayis now $200
If I would add anything I would throw a mxr 6 band EQ in the chain after the tuner but before all the FX. Sharpen the guitar signal to a shape and then push with FX.
Hell yeah!
The Behringer Super Fuzz had my attention but I found a Big Muff used for $40 so I grabbed it. It’s not disappointing! My Fuzz Life has begun! The new Monolord is killer!!!
Hell yeah! Can’t ever go wrong with a big muff 🦇
