- I went looking for a piece of White Oak but it turned out to be Acacia! Well, that'll work! Had some stumbling blocks as far as bowl design but it all worked out in the end. Finished in Shellac.

Very cool, Stephanie! It would be wonderful if they picked up an interest in working with their hands, even if just a hobby. 😊

Hi Phil, What is there not to love about this bowl. It is just amazing. Acacia is a wood I have never turned. Great work as always Phil. Take care buddy. Cheers, Huw
Glad you enjoyed it, Huw! Dennis just contacted me and said it is White Oak. It doesn't look at all like the White Oak lumber I have here but maybe there are different varieties. In any event, I'm glad you like it and I do, too! Good health to you, my friend!
Absolutely beautiful work. You are truly an artist.
Thank you, Sean! 😊
Nothing surpasses the work of Mother Nature!
Agreed!
You have an excellent eye for wood and allow the shape to transform gradually in phases that express a dynamic beauty. There is considerable variety from one area to others in any direction. That holds the attention. The piece holds the eye and fascinates the mind. Excellent!
Wow, thank you! I appreciate your uplifting comment! 😊
Man I love your work, and I love to turn and leave as much natural wood as I can

Glad you enjoyed it, Dan, thank you!
Very pretty. Beautiful grain. Great vid.
😊
I really like the way it came out Phil! I'm going up to my folks house for Christmas and I'm bringing a couple chunks of wood to put on Dad's lathe! He is 90 and doesn't turn anymore and it's just sitting there. Back in 2018 I replaced the spindle bearings for him and he has used it once since then. It can turn a 20" piece! I figure a Cherry crotch and a 10/4 Black Walnut slab should keep me busy for a minute Lol.
Sounds like a great way to spend some holiday time, Hotrod. Enjoy! 😊
It's nice to see the embrace of the natural beauty of the wood without resorting to using resin to make a specific shape. Keep up the great work!!
Thank you very much! 😊
A masterpiece again Really beautiful.
Do not go too far in the forest just because I'm worried that the Trolls will kidnap you so you can work for them, do one miracle after another.
Carsten Sweden 😂
Haha, gotta watch out for those Trolls, Carsten! Thank you! 😊
Beautiful work Phil
Thank you, David! Cheers!
A person could spend a few hours just looking at all of the natural features and beauty of this stunning bowl.
