Our companies are the ones that sold out to China.
So they could increase their profit margins.
By utilizing slave labor in China, and few
other countries with zero human rights.
      In the end.
China has terrible manufacturing processes, and will always choose cheap over quality to maximize profits.

IMO they are lethargic about EV's for this main reasons, one oil and ICE motors, they are still owned, dependent on and governed by the oil companies, they have a long list of patents on ICE motors that they don't want to see gone, and lastly they have no real incentive to really compete against China EV's, because they have the insurance that their governments will support them more than they will support China makers.
Will Germany let China car makers displace German car makers? NO! Will the USA a oil provider let China EV car makers sell more in USA than USA ICE/EV car makers? NO! When your government has your back, you have no incentive to improve and this is mostly why legacy car makers from Europe and USA are lethargic about EV's.

Skoda Eniaq is a sort of SUV/Estate EV hybrid which due to demand is already not in people's car price territory. Don't worry, if demand for Chinese cars rises, the prices rise accordingly to accommodate limited supply, and there will be gone your great value eastern EVs. Do you still remember the crazy prices of some mass-produced mid-range cars during the pandemic when many manufacturers had trouble keeping production levels during chip shortages? There is no rush to produce value EV cars in mass numbers when even midrange offerings are still undersupplied, and when VW finally fix rather affordable ID3 & 4, their reasonable prices will be gone too...

XPeng is my favorite Chinese car brand and this car looks great. But they only sold 18k cars in the first 3 months of this year. They’ve only sold 250,000 cars in their entire existence. They lost $1.2 billion last year on total sales of $3.8 billion. Not great.

@@havencat9337 Too many brands in China, and they are having the mother of all price wars right now. Citroen was forced to sell their cars at 40% (FORTY!!!) discount just to move volume earlier this year. Not every one of China's smaller EV startups is going to survive, and consolidation in their car market is expected to come soon. BYD will be fine. The big state owned firms like SAIC, GAC, Changan will be fine. But the major EV startups could be a question mark. Of those Li Auto is doing the best, and NIO is able to carve out a luxury niche, although NIO is also losing a lot of money. But the remaining trio of Xpeng, Leapmotor, and Hozon, they may go under in the next 5 years. Which means if you bought the P7i, as nice as it is, you'd be worried about if Xpeng goes out of business, then how do you repair or service that car down the road.

@@havencat9337 XPeng is one of 50 EV makers in China, most will be bankrupt in the next 5 years, specifically, Xpeng's revenue has dropped off a cliff in the last year, they may not last 2 years, who will provide parts and service in the future.
Only BYD and Tesla make a profit selling cars in China, no one can survive losing money for long.

@@jjamespacbell Wrong. Xpeng's revenue grew last year. Xpeng's cash and cash equivalents can allow them to burn for another 2-3 years. And this year Xpeng's loss will be reduced as they're moving to more efficient production technology and will cut the cost in R&D and production by a significant margin. Right move in my opinion

I have loved the P7 since the first time I saw it about 2 years ago - I think it look amazing in a standout colour rather than grey - loved the bit about saying Elliot reviewed it ten years ago! Beautiful location a hidden gem not far from the bristol office! Uphill is an area most people never get to see who visit Weston Super Mare - the manor is lovely as is the beach by the sailing club you ended up at - beautiful sunsets there - look forward to seeing it sunday in Harrogate - we need to be more Norway!

Love the talk in UK accent - Nice. Looks nicer then my BYD atto3, which I always use voice commend, tell the car I feel cold and it will increase temperature, say heat up the seat, only the seat where the voice come from get heated, navigate to your work places, shops nearby, EV charging and even the public toilet, and you can say zoom in and out for the map, turn the screen up if drive on a straight road ahead, the fan speed will auto reduce if you use mobile calls, heard from next year BYD will get the car find a car park itself and notice the location after drop you off the entrance, also video rear view mirror will become standard et al.

When all US, EU, Korean and Japanese manufacturers were forced by Western sanctions to leave Russian market in 2022, their very established vehicle plants have been bought out by local companies / management that already started to produce very interesting Chinese vehicles of various brands. Might be a beneficial and technically positive shift for buyers in local market and surrounding non-European countries.

Weren't you curious about the relationship between the rear door and the front, especially with them open? What happens if the rear is fully open and you want to open or close the front; is there a seemless look and operation there and vice versa?
