Hi Shannon, the best time to find good deals on furniture for me is the last week of the month, usually people that are moving start packing and are in a rush just as the month comes to an end, that’s when they realize they have no use or no space in their new place 😅

Also the last week of the month or the first week is a good time to pick up curb furniture for the same reasons, and also thats when landlords are evicting ppl.

I totally agree with changing out the original hardware on a piece. Rarely do I
Reuse the same hardware. New hardware can totally transform your piece and raise the asking price. Its worth spending the extra little for sure. Thank you so much for sharing your tips and the beautiful work that you do!

You are 100% right. Brush on roll off is amazing. I did it on a dresser. Then the next dresser I did I tried the opposite method. I finally went over it with a 3rd coat and went back to the roll off method. Soooo much better. Took away any brush strokes. Found it worked great if I misted with water as well. I use fusion paint and staalmeester microfibre rollers. I will never do it another way again.
Would love to try Lillymoon paint. Unfortunately they do not sell it in Canada yet. Hopefully one day 🤞

Thank you for making this video! I’m learning SO much from you.
I have started using your brush on/roll off technique and am getting good results, better than before.
I am going to implement your tip to create what you see others like Pottery Barn doing. I often say that I’m not always so creative, but I’m REALLY good at copying! Lol

I recently did the pottery barn Sausalito finish on a dresser and I literally had 8-10 buyers in just a few hours! I know you said it is your fastest selling finish but I was so shocked when it actually happened to me! So thank you so much! Also a question, how do you go about finding interior designers to work with? Thank you for your channel, I have learned so much from watching! (I'm in Georgia as well, Northwest of Atlanta =))

I have done your broom finish and it works great. Flaw hiding, yes! it works. i need to try your paint recipe. that is next. I give all my ‘bat wings’ to the restore. They love it!

Ovation paint! Valspar in the 100% acrylic. (I also use it to paint canvases lol) Your roller method. Cutting the legs into new shapes. So many things you have shared have been so beneficial! I can't wait to try your broom method. I live in the West Georgia area on the Alabama line so I'm excited at trying this method to see if they like it here. The style desires from my customers are different from North ATL, but I want to change that! Thank you. This video was helpful.

I am new to refinishing and to save money (and waste), for paint I have been going through my stash of latex/ wall paint. It has been fine for all my personal pieces, even my hard traffic entryway bench (gets things thrown on it all the time). I have even used paint that is 20 years old(!!!) 😳 I do prep really well but just wanted to put this out there. After doing a lot of reading and researching I am VERY intrigued by the fancy and expensive paints but am holding off to buy. I guess I am learning the hard way!

Thx Shannon helpful tips here! I especially love your brush on& roll off method! I have used it on 4 pieces so far with your recommended HGTV Ovation Plus Caviar paint (which is now impossible to get due to shortages) BUT it changed my game in that I love your brush on roll off method with acrylic paint. I have sold 2 of the 4 pieces I did this way.

I use a paint sprayer and your recipe. I do a high volume of furniture and used to brush or use a roller but I find the sprayer gives a more consistent finish for me and is quicker. Especially insides or lots of detail. I just use a Wagner sprayer. Love Fusion and use it for certain colors, but I enjoy the hardware store paint mostly because it's more cost effective and gives good coverage (behr paint with primer, or valspar). And the brushed glaze finish is awesome. I used to retop pieces with wood slats that had laminate tops but now I just do the glaze thing and it is magical! Always a hit with customers!

Hi Shannon, thank you for this video. The most helpful is what type of furniture is selling. I see many listings but don't really know what is truly in demand by sales. You could try to flip furniture all you want but if you are not picking the right pieces nothing is selling. Please make a video discussing what types and styles and/or wood/laminate of furniture are best.

Very informative. I’m just getting started, my favorite paint it HTP (Heirloom Traditions Paint). It is a bit pricy as well, but worth it. I’ve been using some Dixie Bell, but I’m finding I don’t like having to do a topcoat or wax. Just an extra step. I’m going to look up your one step paint recipe and give it a try! 😀

PPG Paint and Valspar are made in my home state. I try to buy their products as much as possible. Support local business as much as possible.
Level up: Using your one step paint recipe (Thank you by the way), instead of adding calcium carbonate, I add snap line chalk. It is already tinted with black, red, blue, yellow, or green pigments, and it is so much cheaper. Want your paint a little darker? Just add a little black snap line chalk powder. Trying to find that just right shade of pink or blue? Just add red or blue snap line chalk to white paint. Yellow and green snap line chalk make really pretty pastels.

Very good information again. You know I love fusion paint but I still have a problem with the lines and so I got a French provincial and I use your roller method but I don’t think I rolled off enough. It looks good but I should’ve rolled I should’ve cleaned off the roller like you do and it would’ve gotten flatter. I also have a problem with perfectionism a little OCD so I end up one dresser I took out the paint four times I think five times so anyway once I try to fight that I think I’ll be a lot better but thank you so very much for all your great information. ❤

I love your faux finishes. I have laminate dining table trying to make look like wood. After ordering dixie belle paint in sawmill gravy and French linen color I have no idea which to use as base color. I’d like to do a glaze on top with your deck brush method. Is there a glaze you’d recommend to try to get close to your pottery barn look? I’m clueless. Thanks
