Introducing the first Formula 1 car for the road - the Mercedes-AMG ONE!
Trust us, this thing is absolutely insane! Let’s start off with a look at the design. Up front you have a whole load of vents to channel air around the car. At the side, you’ll find forged magnesium wheels and carbon fibre sides, while at the back you have a huge diffuser, a massive central exhaust pipe and a fin to help with stability!
On the inside, you’ll find a Formula 1 style steering wheel that comes packing a load of buttons and dials. However, just like in a normal Mercedes, you’ll also find a digital dials display along with an infotainment screen in the middle. And of course, there’s carbon fibre and alcantara literally everywhere!
Now let’s talk about performance! Just like the Mercedes Formula 1 car, the AMG ONE is powered by a 1.6-litre V6 turbo petrol engine that combines with an electric motor to deliver 1,063hp! It can also hit 100km/h in 2.9 seconds, and reach 200km/h in just 7 seconds!

I think there's some regulations on carrying capacity and stuff, otherwise Aston Martin could've brought their Valkyrie too, but they don't.

6:28 A good way to know an owner of the AMG ONE is to see their AMG GT Black Series, if they have one, all ONE owners had the opportunity to get the Black Series with a special livery similar to the one seen on the One (pun intended). it's such a good-looking car it took 5 years in development since the concept in 2017 test from last year and production started from today (fun fact in this particular livery has been changed since 2017 to a silver to red in 2021 and going back to silver with black accent this year matching the w13)

That's not a fact, this isn't the W13 livery, it's the W10-11 livery. The W13 livery isn't anything like this. It doesn't have the black and silver star gradient anymore.
We’ve had this in GTA online since 2019. Yes, the in game version is based on the AMG One and the manufacturer called Benefactor is the in game version of Mercedes

@@arj- 16 but I think you know that no one cares about the ages required to play GTA. For example me and my friends have been playing since 2014 (8 y. old). Also, there is no real point (other than the legal aspect) in setting a required age for games that only have violence and drugs because it’s far more preferable for a child to be playing GTA than spending 8 hours a day on tiktok.

It's a shame yeah, but even if you had the money, upkeeping an F1 engine every track day would be a financial nightmare (or at least a significant dent in the piggy bank) 😅😅 one part of me wants to drive it, one part of me wants to keep it in the garage to swoon at and save myself the headache 🤣🤣 not that I can afford it though....

I remember, it was Nico Rosberg who first posted about this car saying this will have the same engine as his world championship winning Mercedes AMG F1 car back in 2017. It was cool back then and still it is.

@@razatiger22 8kWh batteries are max 150 kg and that is for a standard quality, where this most definitely not a standard quality car.
@@SundbyCPH It has 4 electric motors for each wheel, three which produce 120kW and one 90kW. A 100kW battery weights at around 625kg.
@@damianmichalewski6682 it does have 4 motors, but than is 1 for each front wheel, 1 for the engine crank and 1 for the turbo. Still it is way too heavy if you ask me and more than the sf90.

So glad Matt is pumping out these well made, concise and entertaining new car release videos. I watched the top gear version of this and it was so painful, terrible delivery and the information was so jumbled that the entire video left me confused. Matt's really giving us the content we need.

I was watching showcase of this car on topgear channel. Once a recommendation popped up on my screen, that carwow did it aswell, i immediately switched. Matt knows what he talks about and does not have to read it on his phone, throughout the presentation. Great work!

I think they will had to limit the RPM on the One otherwise the engine would have to be rebuilt too often, which doesn't make sense for someone other than an F1 team

This and the Valkyrie were supposed to go up against each other, but with it weighing 1700kg (600kg more than Valkyrie), being almost 100hp down and having nowhere near the same level of downforce, they're not even remotely close. I'd be surprised if it could hold its own against the likes of a 765LT.

@@Smzxe Aston might be slightly slower in acceleration but with that downforce it will mop the floor with this AMG...downforce obviously comes with straight line speed penalty but can compensate for it at the corners...

"Kinda", like some F1 parts and concepts. For the fans, we get it. The thing about engine and gearbox stress members is that for a race car they have a limited life/wear cycle. The engine itself is stressed internally, and you want the block cylinder wall to not be stressed, for straightness, power and longevity.
using the motor as a stress memebrr for the frame is actually old technology
the same thing has been done with motorcycles for quite some time and the do perform every day as usual
@@DarkIzo An inline-4 motorcycle is anchored at the trans bottom and the head top; to a flexing steel frame. Not suspension to the trans/engine block sides. Or 1000+ power.
This is not going to be a friendly road driver. The gma t50 on the other hand, had maintainability engineered into it from the beginning.

@@saddist1Gtown Bugattis have a way bigger engine and more luxurious interior. This car for being an 'F1 car' is extremely underwhelming. I mean the original trinity of hybrid hypercars (P1, LaFerrari, 918 Spyder) did practically the same thing as this car 10 years ago. It only has a V6 and somehow weighs more than 2 of those cars? This car for being delayed this long is quite disappointing. AM Valkyrie was delayed a lot too but it is a far superior 'F1-car'.
Its a really stunning car, only disappointment is the weight as its really heavy.
Performance figures are low as well. I was really hyped for this car but thats kind of disappointing.
@@MegaFregel pretty sure that the actual performance would be in the speed it takes corners, but there are ultimately huge compromises in sticking an F1 powerplant inside a road-legal chassis. Remember the Ferrari F50?

I dint expect this car to be this heavy. I tought it would be around 1.1/1.2 tons. When merc revealed this car current F1 merc-amg car was around 750 kg at the time. I tought it could be sorted with addition around 400 kg . I guess Aston Martin valkyrie will be pretty much better because it expected to be around 1/1.1 tons
Yea same, must be the hydraulics. Cylinders to raise the car, cylinders 4 the wing and cylinders for the wheel guards.

Yeah it’s really a slow car for the price of it tbh but there’s something that few including me can put my finger on that caused it to have sold out but I think a lot of buyers probably think I don’t plan on talking this car beyond the average highest speeding limit on a street, I’m scared to go beyond what it can go or around what it can go, this is a particular type of car I want, I want this car as a bragging right, or it seems like a great investment.
With that logic, a Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is a 20+ million pound car that goes 0-60 in 5 seconds. What a bunch of morons right???

I change my mind about this car. It's incredible. When Matt said the DRS button I giggled. It's the most unapologetic analog of a race car ever.

Not with 1060hp and weighing 1700kgs. It only has a power to weight of 590hp/ton. A 765LT manages that in the real world.

@@stubones well the 765lt is slower than a 720s on bilsterberg und hockenheim. More power and less weight is not always the key. Porsche gt2 rs (with manthey) slaps all cars around the track, despite beeing the heaviest (1600kg with fluid) and only 700hp. Suspension setup, tires, gearing, steering and downforce are way more important.

i wouldn't be so sure. if they had beaten the time of the gtr black series, they would have posted the time already... it is significantly heavy and has about the same acceleration as a mclaren 720s, even though they have 300hp more and a hybrid system. it's a disappointment in my book (for now)

I heard the sound of it at its maiden run at the Goodwood FAS....and was severely underwhelmed.
This car, after all the F1 engine hype, should SCREAM like the old V10´s.
Yet...it sounded like a stock McClaren.

I think AMG is trying to be conservative with the acceleration of this car, the new Mercedes AMG GT E performance with 840 does 0-60 in 2.8sec and it weights 2.4tons. The AMG one is lighter and got more power. I think 2.6/2.5 sec is possible.
2-2,2 secs is also possible,the less powerful Porsche 918 spyder with similar weight managed to did that

The opposite this year
Quite underwhelming to be honest - the valkyrie, which competes with it has far more impressive acceleration figures, much better weight control and comes with a 6.5l v12! Feels like the amg is not even in the same class as the valkyrie...

Yes weight of valkyrie is definitely better however
valkyrie doesn't have electric motor and the instant torque that comes with it as well as mguk or active aero
Still think the valkyrie will edge it out most of the time and it does have better sound but amg will be able to deliver similar levels of performance while being actually drivable amd liveable with off the track too
