- In this video I will be going over the ways that I would recommend farming machine events to get more overclocks out of your blanks. For this I would recommend that you play as the Scout class and spawn in to Point Extract missions as they are the most wide open and then easiest to explore in the least amount of time.

Event spawn rate is affected by mission length.
Events have a higher chance of spawning in missions of greater length.
Length 1 = 15%
Length 2 = 25%
Length 3 = 35%

Not having enough cores is a bigger issue for me. I wish core weren't gated to 3 blanks a week. Still need like 30 weapon OCs.
Yeah it would be nice if they would add another way to get cores.
Yea i just started getting into deep dives and hit the same roadblock. I have been buying cheap overclocks to get the free ones. Helps a little
Spending more time playing the game, doing Deep Dives weekly, focusing on getting good at one class, and/or being more patient are key. The number of terrible players who start/join Haz 3+ games expecting to be carried since I returned to the game is absurd. DRG is a roguelite--if someone wants to finish every play session with a new overclock or w/e, they're setting themselves up for disappointment.
@@ReapeeRon they should make it so you can craft blank cores with error cubes. Maybe a combination of cubes and minerals. Adds extra uses to these resources, although maybe the error cubes would need a slightly higher spawn rate for this purpose. I personally have 300 hours and only 14 cubes. Although keeping spawn rate at current let’s this be a more gradual little bonus.
Alternatively I had an idea where you can use cubes to blank already infused cores so you can go for another overclock you wanted. Maybe make it a special blank core that can be limited down to a single weapon or class weapon slot. And maybe make it so you can do this with normal blank cores as well. It’s a more useful/less RNG dependent system so that could justify the rarity of the cubes. Just ideas lol.
Cool video! FYI for some events that require killing bugs such as ebonite mutation, I find that low difficulties such has hazard 1 can actually make it harder due to the lower bug spawn rate. I have had moments on hazard 1 core farming where I would only have less than 10 seconds to spare when finishing an ebonite event.

I was also told that it had nothing to do with difficulty, it was mostly the length and complexity of the mission that takes into effect the chance of an event.
Yes that is true.
Ron had a good idea to spawn into Point Extract missions as a scout - I found that machine events spawned much more in On Site Refining missions. I had all my season 2 over clock's knocked it in 1-2 days

Hey Ron! Yeah I agree, there's a lot of people who ask you how to farm machine events 😆 I used to not get these events when I was going for the weapon overclocks but now I'm getting them a lot when I'm trying to save my cores for the new secondaries 😆 Rock and Stone!

Nice tips! I am determined to conquer the OMEN tower. That thing party wipes us like 80% of the time so I wanted to farm that event to get some practice.
You can put platforms above the spots that you stand on it with Engi and that can make it easier.
I think the key is gunner, maybe even having two or more gunners. Throw down a shield, and by the time it runs out, you and your team should have killed one level of the tower. Run away to recharge shield, then run back and do it again on the next level. Or if you have two gunners, just have the second guy toss a shield, should have the tower down in record time. Have scout toss a slow grenade on the tower for more damage boost.
RNG is a cruel mistress. I tried farming a bunch of length three missions to get my last two blanks filled but it took like 2 hours to finally get both. Saw plenty of prospectors and data deposits, but was going MAD trying to find machine events. At least I got plasma burst missiles after all the pain, it's a fun OC!

I'm convinced there is a backend code that looks like this:
Machine Event Spawn Rate = 100%
IF
BLANK CORE IVENTORY = 0
Machine Event Spawn Rate = NOPE

BLANK CORE INVENTORY > 0
Bro you are 💯 right, i dont have any matrix cores but almost every single ge i get machine events.
Seems that ways at times.
I had a Tritilyte Crystal spawn on a higher ledge as a scout. I had to pick my way up after the explosives dropped in. Bad RNG for me as a scout.
I still have 36 cores. I even stoped doing the assingment because it makes me sad. I still miss some gunner cosmetics..

How do you get the cores?
@rhylanweekley5125 if this was a year ago, the reply would be different. As it is now:
Get one of your dwarves promoted. Play a class until they get to level 25. You will be given a promotion assignment. Complete the assignment. Head to the memorial hall. Pay for the promotion, because our corporate overlords in Deep Rock are just like that. After that, you can aquire cores from a 1-time assignment that you need to do which will pop up after the promotion, from completing deep dives, from the weekly core hunt assignment, and every promotion AFTER the 2nd one, ie: when you promote a class for the first time, you get nothing, but the second time you promote that class and onwards, you are given cores. If that's still confusing: you promote your engineer, who you have never promoted before, and you get nothing, but if you get him back up to 25 and promote him again, then you get cores, and you will get cores on every engineer promotion from there onwards.

I swear to god the best way to farm machine events is when you have no cores 😭 when I have cores I'll spend hours trying to find them to get the cores, and every god damn time I have no cores left I'll load into random missions and have a machine event dead ass spawn at the beginning of every mission 😭😭😭
Yeah it seems that way sometimes.
I've personally done 15 point extractions and 5 salvage operations and have not gotten A SINGLE EVENT TO SPAWN. I haven't gotten an event to spawn in almost a week. I'm very frustrated and I FIRMLY believe that it is not a 25% chance to spawn an event.
It depends on cave length as well
@@adnansayed2787 thanks for the info. Funny thing is I played for a few hours and got 5 events to spawn almost back to back. It's almost as if the game felt sorry for me 😬

Host ended a game at the very end after we all boarded the drop pod yet I didn't get my OC nor did it randomly give me one of the three options. Just felt people should know (bug or otherwise) YOU DO NOT always get to keep your unlock when a game ends early, even if its at the very last second.

Yesterday I got one of those infected-bugs machine events, completed it, and then:
Nothing....
The infuser had the panel popped out and all, but there was no interact button....
I've never had a glitch like that in drg before, weird!

Yes you can still start events even if you have non promoted teammates.
They always spawn when I have no core and when I have 10 they never spawn

It might be that you don't have any blank cores right now so you can still complete the events but you can't exchange the blanks because you are lacking them at the moment.@@kaizo4217

The true answer is: just don't, enjoy the game.
This is mediocre advice it will lead to unnecessary farming.
If you want treasures load up lengthy missions and you net more rewards, This is a golden rule in most all games.
