As long as you have fun i play the same way i just loot everything and enjoy every mission like its my last and i have the most fun with it. The game is all about fun if you dont like speedrunning dont do it youll just enjoy the game less
nah, that's outdated. random tertiary events are an extremely good source of XP, its just that at the time data deposits didn't give a whole lot of XP as their value was focused on the performance pass. same goes for current season's plaugehearts, if you've completed the pass then its not worth much of anything to you. edit: my b i thought that was about data deposits. but still, IS is pretty good after the season 3 tweaks that made it much shorter too.
People can play however they want. Playing with the objective to finish as fast as possible is just a viable way of playing this game as role playing a dwarf in haz 3 mining everything possible and taking 30mins+ per mission.
Whenever I am xp grinding or I see people grind, I've noticed that a lot of the time, people will stick around in those people's games and help them grind faster. I've done it a lot by just sticking around and helping someone who was grinding for 1-2 hours. It's actually pretty fun seeing how fast you can get a mission done.
i've never seen a 4 minute point extraction, i have done a 4:05 4 egg solo though, i'd believe a 6 minute but the 2 minutes you always have to wait is just unreal to me.
On the subject of Industrial Sabotage: If your team is very well put together and coordinated, DO IT. I can speedrun these solo in around 15 MINUTES. With a team you can do both hacking pods at once and shave another minute and a half off, if not more given that you're clearing rooms simultaneously too. Overall, I wouldn't be surprised if sub-10 was possible with a fully coordinated team. Combine that with the buffs they gave it at the start of Season 3 and it's actually really good now.
"Not taking your time to level up and enjoy the game? What a leaf lover." Great video as always, man. Edit while watching the video: I love this voice at 8:48 lol
The point regarding role rigidity was confusing me. Do people really insist on this? Whenever I play, I distribute tasks according to possibility (as opposed to suitability) and proximity. If I'm driller and there's a thing high up the wall and the engineer and scout are near, I ignore it. If I am the only one there and everyone else is busy with other tasks, I drill up there myself. It just takes a little longer. (I feel people underestimate driller mobility anyway, just be creative with your tunneling) Likewise, if someone asks me for help or seems to be taking care of themselves, I lend a hand or leave them be regardless of how I would calculate the situation.
Thank you for this, I'm a brand new player and most of this is beyond me atm but it's good to plan ahead. I'm looking to grind exp I guess so I can start making those loadouts you point out as being needed in the beginning.
Even in a "Dwarf RP" lobby, there is a very compelling argument to keep people from mining gold... The company doesn't let us keep it! We mine gold for them, and they make us sell it to them for nearly worthless company credits! I could've bought that shiny new M1000 classic with the first gold vein I ever mined, if I had the gold. Instead, I had to run two extra missions for the credits to buy my favorite rifle. Mine gold? For /them/? Never!
My thirst for new hats cannot be quelled simply by the completion bonus of a mission, and that paycheck is barely enough to cover all my upgrades as well. But these are great tactics I'll employ in those annoying moments where I need to hit a level benchmark or something
An extra tip is that mineral mania gives u more minerals to mine therefore increasing the amount of xp gained at the end of the mission from total “minerals mined”
For me I’d say I’m an in between. I don’t go for gold cause you’re right, it’s not much. If I have the time while my team sets up then sure I’ll go ahead but now I have like 60k credits at any point with several hundred minerals, so mining gold isn’t a priority. But at the same time I do go for being a team player. I will be the last one in the pod to make sure everyone leaves. I will bring back Doretta. There’s a fine balance to it.
i know you said dont do sabotage but ive discovered a way to make it a little faster. embeded detonators on scout and a driller running max c4 damage. driller skips vent phase by throwing a c4 on top and scout speeds up eye phase. for the hacking pods just call them both in and split the team, you can have two running at the same time
7:12 Well yeah generally it's a good idea to have more then just the scout be willing to grab minerals but gunner, is the worst class at grabbing minerals they either take like 20 times longer to do the same task it'd take anyone else to do or you need to (with zipline capacity maxxed) spend 25% of your traversal ammunition on a single vane Though gunner is fully capable of getting these high up vanes, it does involve either a sanifigent ammo or time investment for gunner Very often as gunner i see ores like on the roof as my entire team just zips through the room missing the ore so im left as the slowest class in the game spending like 10 minutes getting that one ore These arnt speed running games either, they're either with my friends or when im the host
Man these comments are going completely insane. Just play the game the way you want, if you don’t want to grind or farm xp, just move on and don’t ruin it for the rest of us
Very situational for sure. Really a hindsight type decision, did you end up needing the satchels for something else? or did you get to a resup without finding another use for em? Difficult if not impossible to make the "right" choice in the moment but if you run 4 satchels and rock mover like me, i usually burn 75% of my satchels on minerals including gold and i rarely end up needing them.

@@Comfyest Only the front part of the front legs is armored, and the head itself isn't armored (except the lower jaw which has a hidden x0.5). He needs to finish the game faster, so he can return to playing other, less fun, games.
Well, it's useful if you already sick of standart missions and want to get access to deep dive and to other variants of weapons.
@@hayana-sanjo fair enough.
If he like to play the game that way I don't see how it's a problem
To call a person displeased with your abnormal way of playing a griefer when they react negatively to strange behavior in a public lobby is a very bold thing to say.
I'm sorry but my being physically hurts to ignore gold
Dude killed 4 cave leeches in 7 sec
Dont wanna be rude but is this kind of grind really fun for you?
Me who plays mostly solo: 👁️👄👁️
Didn't even say ROCK AND STONE at the end of his videos. Can you even call yourself a dwarf anymore.
(Jk obviously)
you sound like Sinatra
We. Mod.
this is the most scout thing ive ever seen
Not to shit on a good video but this man is telling me to be fast and then shooting Dreadnought Lacerators on the legs and right behind the head 😂
Yes? This does as much damage as from behind, the Twins weakpoint is x1 like Praetorians
@@zaion8917 The legs and the literal armor right being the head are, as implied, armored... which means it takes reduced damage... which means it's always worth it to open the Lacerator/Arbalest's ass to deal 1x damage, as I tried and might've failed to alude to on your end...
@@Comfyest Only the front part of the front legs is armored, and the head itself isn't armored (except the lower jaw which has a hidden x0.5). So if you have a precision weapon like the M1000, you really don't need to open the back at all. Also heavy armor doesn't reduce damage, it absorbs all damage until destroyed.
@@zaion8917 I didn't claim his weapon choice or playstyle wasn't fitting of the situation he put himself in...
He said he's trying to be fast and missing shots on the vital parts, I riffed on that as simple banter, nothing more...
Why does it always have to come to this online, ffs
Why do people play with particles off? It looks like shit and it doesn't make a difference with performance I promise. As if deep rock is an intensive game. It's sure as shit not
It absolutely improves performance, especially with how poorly optimized the game is currently. I know that playing hazard 2 probably doesn't tank your framerate so i can see why you couldn't understand
@@AxisKronos ain't no reason to roast man like that!
The best tip is missing here:
Join a game late. You get the same XP regardless of if you were there from the start or joined the second the drop pod arrives
While true, it feels absolutely vile to join in when almost everything is done
Not for me. I started playing 2 months ago and after doing this a couple of times, I can now keep up.@@default0467
